When you get Gadi Wolf, Deniz Kurtel and Desolat chap Guti on the same record the results are going to be rich in sound and highly desirable amongst the deep house fraternity. Purportedly recorded as the virgin hours of 2011 settled down in the luxurious climes of the Marcy Hotel, there's a languid sensation to the latest Double Standard ten inch that backs up the myth. A Sider "The Way I Feel" is a fuzzed out odyssey of warm bass and gentle tones of piano and chords intertwined across a bed of delicate drums, with more than a hint of intimacy and lustful thoughts added by Kurtel's distant cooing. Complementing this, "3am" sees the trio indulge in a muddy trudge through rough hewn beatdown, gradually unfurling into a so slow but so good vocal led, loose limbed techno throb, perfectly suited for the time hinted at in the title.
