Review: Alongside their recent soundtrack for the TV series Iron Sky, Slovenian industrial band Laibach have timed it well to also release their latest album Sketches Of The Red District. Dark, noisy and cold ambient industrial zones play out across an album allegedly inspired by the history and politics of Yugoslavia, especially events that took place in Trbovlje, the band's hometown. The album is a departure from the band's usual pop-cultural satire and transgressive aesthetics, and focuses more on creating an atmospheric and ominous soundscape that reflects the historic turmoil and violence of the region.

All these years and several hits (think 'Bakerman', 'Sunshine Reggae' and 'White Horse') and the duo is still making sublime grooves in their studio in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. With a worldwide reputation for super horizontal sounds that draw on soul, yacht rock, Balearic and downtempo they have dropped albums like Cosyland, the chill out classic Cosmic Vibes, 2013's double album Uptimistic Music and of course the now almost 45 year old Healing Feeling. Review: Evand Dando and co broke through to the mainstream with the sublime, sunny songwriting of 1992's It's A Shame About Ray, then managed to sustain their time at the top the following year with the Slade-referencing Come On Feel The Lemonheads. It's an altogether bigger and superfically impressive prospect, with guests like Rick James and Belinda Carlisle making the contributors' list and a production job from The Robb Brothers which elevates it beyond the slacker rock tag they'd had until the is point. It also spawned their biggest ever single - 'Into Your Arms' - and a host of other chart successes, including the excellent anthem 'Big Gay Heart', which saw them neatly distancing themselves from the jock rock category that other contemporaries like Nirvana quickly found themeslves slipping into.

Review: Joseph Kosinski, famous for his direction on 'Tron: Legacy' scored by Daft Punk, wanted to go a completely different direction for 2013's 'Oblivion' starring Tom Cruise. An emotional, epic soundtrack composed by French electronic act M83 was the only real option for him - a match made in heaven. Immediately, 'Jack's Dream' and 'Waking Up' are cinematic and vast in scope with blaring strings that swell in ways that only movie soundtracks can. A complete departure from Anthony Gonzalez's megahit 'Midnight City', 'Oblivion' is an orchestral affair that is bold and punchy, with soft and ethereal ambient patches scattered throughout. The title track is a major standout, featuring Norwegian talent Susanne Sundfor, a favourite vocalist and frequent collaborator of Royksopp. Expect the unexpected, but prepare to be amazed.

Review: Madrugada's The Industrial Silence Tour in 2019 took them to play Live At Rockpalast and the show was captured for this limited edition and one-off album. It comes on turquoise coloured vinyl, housed in a sturdy sleeve with three printed innersleeves. The magical live recording came as the band regrouped to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their much loved and vital debut album Industrial Silence. The show in Germany found them at their very best, fully energy and engaged with the crowd not just musically but emotionally. This release has been put together in collaboration with and supervised by the band themselves.
