Review: IIB next release comes from French duo Baptiste & Pierre. 2 tracks of warm tropical goodness. Virage is a deep mellow afro tinged tropical workout. Muted guitar hook and nature sounds conjuring up far flung deserted beaches. Ruf dug beefs it up a touch and moves it indoors giving it a more afterhours feel. The second track has the same evocative feel as Virage with added atmospheric pads and a bouncy melody. Like a closing track on an 80's road movie. Full of emotion. Italian maestro Deep 88 creates a truly authentic slice of early ninetoes deep dreamy house. Perfectly wrapping the original in warm analogue drums. Another quality release from IIB.

Review: This second part of Nuearth Kitchen's Baptiste & Pierre Colleu remix project is given over in its entirety to horror-theme loving London duo Black Merlin - quite apt considering the dark, psychedelic World Unknown-esque vibes of the duo's original of "Dolphin Boy. Black Merlin provide two reworks; first is the "Romance In The Dark" mix, which sounds remarkably like what a union between Vangelis and John Carpenter might sound like, and second is the throbbing "Peyote" remix, a wormhole-like piece of EBM that begs to be played loud and at maximum volume.

Review: The Nuearth Kitchen label haven't put out a lot of records, but everything they do release is always worthy of closer investigation - see that killer Madteo 12" last year for proof. Their latest project is their most in-depth to date, with Parisian duo Baptiste & Pierre Colleu remixed by a cast of talent. Part one features the duo's original of Dolphin Kid, a suitably Gallic piece of throbbing techno which is a potential World Unknown anthem in the making. Coyote takes it into the realms of percolating Balearica with his remix, while the unstoppable Willie Burns delivers a haunted house rework sounding like the kind of ethereal material that you'd expect from his kraut-inspired Black Deer material. Finally, Jon McMillian's "Sea World" mix takes things into psychedelic minimal territory, as fluid synth textures flow across delicate rhythms.
