Review: The blossoming studio partnership betwixt those lords of the breakdown, Messrs Alkan and Ridha, continues apace here with Roland Rat, a suitably raucous two track twelve inch constructed from analogue means. This record is also notable for a further example of the duo's playful testing of the limits of a twelve inch, with the title tracks noticeable mid point speed up threatening to dislodge needle from groove. Along with the recent Lemonade CDr 12" pressing and the sight of Ridha hammering out an all vinyl set on Boiler Room, this kind of attention to detail ensures both retain valid membership to the Keep Vinyl Alive campaign.

Review: Boys Noize and Defected seem like rather odd bedfellows on paper. The former is known for making caustic, in your face club tracks that are aggressive and heavily textured. The latter is one of house music's most smooth and feel good labels. Yet with 'All I Want (feat Jake Shears)' they somehow find a sweet spot between the two. The tune has gauzy chord vamps and and a rigid beat, but the vocal is catchy and smooth, while the bass sequence is sure to lock in any crowd. The remixes take in star-gazing, upbeat disco house funk and dub, stripped back and trance inducing minimalism from DJ Tennis.

Review: The remix album - a staple of dance music culture since the early 1980s - has fallen out of fashion of late, with total overhauls of artist albums a relative rarity. Three cheers, then, for Boys Noize, who's handed over the tracks from his 2012 set Out of the Black to a crack team of remixers. The results are largely impressive, veering from the heady Italo-meets-electrofunk swing of Chromeo's version of "What You Want" and kudoro hustle of Blood Diamonds' tweak of "Got It", to the intense strobe light attack of the Chemical Brothers' acid-flecked remix of "XTC". Best of all, though, is Housemeister's version of "Circus of Clowns" - an inventive fusion of '80s electro and acid house.

Review: Alexander 'Boys Noize' Ridha seems to be mellowing with age. Compared to previous full-length excursions, Out of the Black is positively laidback. While there are, of course, ear-splitting moments of noisenik electro (see "Ich R U" and the techno-flavoured "Merlin"), most of the best dancefloor cuts here boast pleasing melodies and a surprising depth to the production (see "XTC"). Crucially, there's also more swing and a greater reliance on electrofunk-era synths. It's on these funk-fuelled tracks, such as Siriusmo collaboration "Conchord" and the delicious opener "What You Want", that Ridha shows us just how far he's come in the last decade.

Review: Soaring electro techno executed with spitfire saw-toothed charm, this really is what Boys Noize does best. The savage riff builds and builds with acid aggression before the classic electro breakbeat drop and spine-surging synths barge their way into the mix with a flavour that isn't too far from an old Kraftwerk technique. For added wallop flip for MMM's remix... Stripped back and riff-heavy, it's even darker than the original. You can't fail with a record like this.

Review: In the pantheon of unlikely combinations for a record release, Boys Noize dropping on Cocoon backed with a remix from Mark E ranks pretty highly, but cast aside your reservations as this is an impressive debut from Mr Ridha on Mr Vath's long running imprint. With a name such as "Adonis" anyone with a respectable knowledge of house music history would guess Ridha is taking his cue from the legendary Chicago DJ and acid house producer of the same name. It makes for a respectful update of that sound, demonstrating none of the jarring sonic overtones that have permeated Ridha's maximal output over the last few years. On the flip the Merc boss adds a killer Motor City bump to the track, teasing out his own granite thick textures on a remix that might feasibly lead to further big name commissions.

mix, which works magic on the dancefloor.

Review: Despite his young years, Alex Ridha now stands as highly respected member of the electronic community - a go-to man if you will - and here he teams up with fellow Berliner Housemeister, part of his ever expanding label's roster. An insistent kick-snare combo builds up "Shizzo" with some subtle almost-Prodigy style crunchiness to the synths which rise and distort almost beyond control until they fall back into a dark sweat-drenched 3am groove. The abrasive synths coupled with the white noise builds mark this as a halfway house between the electro house BN is known for and Chirs Liebing style stadium techno. This shares the A Side with "nBaxx", with sparse ping pong percussion twisted around a broken beat, occasional rave stabes and cleverly chopped female vox. "Saturday" greedily hogs the whole flipside, with Housemesiter and Ridha opting for a stripped back Chicago house style vibe endowed with quirky bleeps, squeaks and sonic squiggles.

Review: Given their years of service and status within the scene, it's perhaps surprising that this is Boys Noize's first contribution to the Fabriclive series. Predictably, the German grasps the opportunity with both hands, laying down an intense, robust, action-packed mix full of spiraling electronics, ragging acid, booming beats and pandemonium-inducing builds. Opening with Mr Oizo's bizarre but brilliant Marilyn Manson hook-up "Solid", Boys Noize gleefully rips through 30-odd tracks in the space of 70 minutes, flitting between bombastic floorfillers from the likes of Special Request, Jimmy Edgar, Four Tet, Randomer, Worthy & Eats Everything, Dave Clarke and, perhaps most surprisingly, Kowton. The result is a thrill-a-minute ride through basement-friendly beats with added sweaty rave vibes. In truth, we didn't expect anything less.

Review: A tireless DJ and producer who's worked flat out since his teens to rewrite techno, and also the foremost authority on DJing while wearing a matching baseball cap and hoodie, Alex Ridha's Boys Noize alias is celebrated with this long-overdue collection of remixes spanning back to 2004. Most of what's included is just simply essential - his brutal re-edit of Late of the Pier's "Focker" for example, or his heavenly take on Feist's "My Moon, My Man". These are joined by other essential remixes, such as his unreleased reworking of Justice's "Phantom (Part 2)" which totally outdoes his French contemporaries, and his storming remix of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". Essential.

Review: Tiga and Boys Noize have been in and out of each other's productions for years now, and if you cast your mind back to 2006 you'll find Alex Rida's epic remix to Tiga's "Move My Body". Boys Noize has appeared on various Turbo compilations over the years too, but now comes the collaboration we've been waiting for: "100". Naturally Tiga's semi-ironic vocals are laced throughout the track, while acid synths, throttled by a beefed up and jacking bassline, rock out to clashing hi-hats. And for some extra pulsating warehouse techno action, check out "Jam#1". Make some noise.
