Riding For A Fall (5:54)
Review: Having announced the first part of his new trilogy only a month ago, Dang-Khoa Chau presents yet another EP for Parisian imprint Antinote. "Riding For A Fall" is the follow up to the neon-lit and celestial ethno-house expressed on his recent Mystic Warrior EP. From the majestic acid freefall of "Voices", to the shimmering "Shoubuari" (Battle Mix) which reaches near tribal moments (and calls to mind his work under the 45ACP alias a little while back) and finally the title track with its shamanic new age vibe, this second instalment will take you deep into the rainforest for ritual rites.

Mystic Warrior (6:52)
Elements (6:20)
Worries In The Dance (4:31)
Earth People (6:39)
Review: After two years spent flirting with the Good Morning Tapes and Second Circle labels, Parisian producer Dang-Khoa Chau returns to the warm bosom of regular home Antinote Recordings. Title track "Mystic Warrior" is every bit as melodious and emotion-rich as his previous outings, with chiming synthesizer melodies, starry chords and tropical samples rising above a chunky, loose-but-locked-in groove. "Elements" is a little more alien sounding but no less humid, with new age style lead lines tumbling down over a loved-up drum machine groove, while the sub-heavy "Warriors In The Dance" brilliantly breaks up the beats and ratchets tropical tropes. If that's not enough to set the pulse racing, "Earth People" sounds like an unlikely jam between Steve Reich, Vangelis and early '90s ambient house sort Tetsu Inoue.

Review: Over the years, DK has been responsible for some of Antinote's most ear-pleasing moments. Even so, we can't think of many as breathtaking as "Keyboard Study", the Steve Reich-with-synthesizers track that kicks off Distant Images, his fourth vinyl excursion for Zaltan's lauded imprint. It superbly sets the tone for what follows: a stunning selection of synthesizer-heavy soundscapes variously inspired by American minimalism, Greek new age ambient and Vangelis's widescreen electronic soundtracks. It's the sort of record that sounds like it could have been made in the early '80s and reissued by Music From Memory, only better (and that's saying something).

Whatever Turns You On
Softest Place
Review: After introducing Japanese artist Inoue Shirabe on their last release, Paris label Antinote return to sourcing music from closer to home with Love on Delivery a new 12" from the excellent D.K. Last year's Drop long player from D.K. was one a highlight amongst highlights in the Antinote release schedule so we have been eagerly awaiting new material from the man. Of course since then the producer has also introduced the 45 ACP project for Dog In The Night, a sort of chaotic and unpredictable Hyde to the smoother gliding Jekyll that is D.K. He's certainly on star gazing form with the quartet of cuts here which truly live up to their sensual titles and then some! The wonderfully enveloping "Marimba Theme" is a real highlight but the whole record will delight the new age loving warm up DJs out there!
