Another Flannel Afternoon (6:06)
Afraid Of Breakfast (5:09)
In Yo Head (feat Jeru Tha Damaja - House mix) (4:55)
Review: Hanna is a somehow rather overlooked or under-appreciated (or both) producer from the states. He had some cult classic outings on some key labels first time round then seemed to disappear only to come back again a few years ago with his superbly fresh and musical house sound more than in tact. He is a master instrumentalist and keys player who brings the jazz, the funk, the class to every tune. That is certainly the case on the warm, glowing grooves of 'Another Flannel Afternoon' with its neat synths and subtle vocals. 'Afraid Of Breakfast' is a more textured track with wet clasp and loopy synth motifs over a rugged house beat. 'In Yo Head' features 90s hip-hop maestro Jeru Tha Damaja on the vocals and gets a remix that is a perfect bit of hip-house.

Champion (4:37)
Still (5:59)
Until (5:34)
Review: For well over 20 years, Warren "Hanna" Harris has proved to be one of the deep house scene's most reliable producers. As a result, his tracks remain in-demand amongst labels old and new. Here he adds another imprint to his growing list, recently launched Belgian outfit Penelope. A-side 'Champion' sets the tone, with Harris wrapping scratched-in rap samples, woozy Rhodes chords and dewy-eyed female vocal samples over a slipped, hip-hop influenced house beat. Over on the flip he combines pleasingly loose, MPC-programmed drum machine beats with boogie bass, drowsy chords and more soulful vocal snippets on 'Still', before delivering a chunkier slab of boogie/deep house fusion that's just begging to be played over a suitably meaty soundsystem (standout 'Until').

Deep House
Humbolt Park (7:42)
I Wonder (7:37)
Review: Since making his debut as Hanna 21 years ago, Warren Harris has delivered a string of inspired, soul-fired deep house and broken beat releases for a clutch of admired labels, most notably Freerange, Sound Signature, Track Mode, Shall Not Fade and Melodies International. Here he makes his first appearance on Alex Attias' Visions Inc. imprint with a strong two-track missive. Like many of his peers have recently done, Harris has decided to doff a cap to jazz-funk on the warm, loose and heady brilliance of A-side "Humbolt Park", whose Herbie Hancock-inspired synths and distinctive drum programming are reminiscent of Kaidi Tatham. If anything, similarly inclined flipside "I Wonder" is even better, something we put down to the quality of his chords and chiming melodies.

I Needed (6:34)
Intercession, On Behalf (6:51)
Review: Back in the early-to-mid 2000s, Warren Harris AKA Hanna was responsible for making and releasing some of the most sumptuous and seductive blends of future jazz, broken beat, soul and deep house around. This 12" from Melodies International offers a neat reminder by serving up two tracks previously featured on a CD-only album from 2004. A-side "I Needed" is the clear standout: a glassy-eyed and loved-up slab of jaunty dancefloor deep house that combines the swing of future garage and the snappiness of jacking Chicago house with the smoothness of soul and the kaleidoscopic synthesizer lines of jazz-funk. Flipside "Intercession, On Behalf" is similarly minded with more of an emphasis on vibrant jazz-funk and the soul motifs and the soul-powered swing of U.S garage.

In The Morning (5:07)
Psalms (6:22)
Perhaps (5:59)
Perhaps (Earl Jeffers remix) (5:57)
Review: Warren Harris continues to enjoy his most prolific year since the 90s with another immaculate, velvet groove EP on Return To Fade (who gave us his perennial "Caught In The Mxyzptik" EP last year) "In The Morning" is a sumptuous sunrise affair that's powered by a subtle vocal layering over a beat so smooth you barely notice it. "Psalms" offers wisdom beyond its six minutes with yearning jazz chords and soaring Claussellian pads while "Perhaps" moves closer to the dancefloor with a precision balance of weight and introspection. Remix wise Earl Jeffers joins the fray with a Balearic bomb; all rim shots and wizardry, drop this and everyone will get down to shake; there's no 'perhaps' about it.

Review: People of Earth proudly presents Warren Harris aka . Blessing us with a 4 track EP titled "From the Dark Sky". Delivering his signature bass licks and providing us with a vocal track on top of it all in "Last Forever". Hints of jazz, gospel and straight deep house throughout the record, all beautiful, uplifting and full of purpose.

Deep House
Lake Shore Dr (7:03)
Parallel (6:10)
Gold Coast (6:29)
Khords 1 (4:32)
Review: Warren Harris did a sterling job on his first outing for Perpetual Rhythms as Hanna, and he's back for round two. Things are just as deep as you would hope and expect, with Harris' unique take on the Detroit house formula present and correct on the cleverly executed "Lake Shore Dr." "Parallel" finds him exploring his penchant for snagged, off-kilter rhythms matched with deep house delicacy, and "Gold Coast" takes things into lounge territory without ever sounding insipid. Therein lies the magic of Hanna, and beautiful experiment "Khords 1" is on hand to finish the EP off as a statement of just how special and unique Harris' music is.

Knowing (5:26)
Love & Death (6:06)
Chasing The Sunset (6:29)
Sway Life (5:14)
Review: Shall Not Fade welcome a genuine house pillar; Warren Harris AKA Hanna. His first release in quite some time, he gently reminds us of his influence with four beautiful, unhurried soul-laced gems. "Knowing" is a day dreamer, all flutes, fretless bass, free and easy while "Love & Death" takes us deep inside the synths on a bed of loosely arranged percussion. Flip for the softly broken shuffles and twinkles of "Chasing The Sunset" and the left-sided stuttering-beat funk jam "Sway Life". Let's pray we don't have to wait so long for the next Hanna dispatch.

Review: Warren "Hanna" Harris has long been one of electronic music's most overlooked producers. Despite releasing material on Trackmode, Freerange, Apollo and Sound Signature, he never seems to get the props his productions deserve. The Never End sees him pop up on Funkineven's on-point Apron imprint with a set that attractive drifts between woozy synthesizer ambience, breezy and melodious deep house, deep space drum & bass, Andres-ish jazziness and 21st century dream house positivity. Musically rich, hugely evocative and immaculately produced, the material served up by Harris is undeniably smooth, but with enough raw edges to please those who prefer their house a little scruffy and lo-fi.

Poom (5:28)
Bucktown (5:43)
Wicker Park (4:31)
Nuance (6:20)
Review: Chicago's Perpetual Rhythms label scores a coup in welcoming the inimitable Warren Harris to present what appears to be three separate installments of his honey coated house abstractions. "Poom" wastes no time in confirming that Harris' work as Hanna is unrivalled for off-the-wall rhythmic constructions that truly channel the freedom of jazz into the house stratosphere. "Bucktown" is no slouch in this regard either, while the swirling smoothness of the synths makes the spiky drum science taste all the sweeter. "Wicker Park" seems to take some influence from the West London broken beat scene, and then "Nuance" swoops in with yet more bruk action and some truly space age melodic content that marks this out as one of Hanna's strongest efforts in recent times.

Stranger (5:55)
Worship (5:01)
No Fear (5:59)
Wayfaring Man (5:41)
Review: Warren Harris's recent outing on Funkineven's Apron label was a pleasingly varied and hard-to-pigeonhole affair, with the producer's usual woozy deep house being flanked by tracks that looked to starry ambient and deep drum and bass for inspiration. Predictably, there's more ear-pleasing fusion fare to be found in this speedy follow-up. While opener "Stranger" sounds like a heartfelt tribute to organic deep house heroes such as Ron Trent and Larry Heard, the jaunty and spacey "Worship" looks to mid-90s British tech-house for inspiration. He switches focus again on the undulating, synth-heavy boogie-house goodness of "No Fear", before unfurling a chunk of near perfect modern soul (the brilliant "Wayfaring Man") to round off another must-have EP.

Review: Jazz-wise deep house and downtempo producer Hanna has a string of fine albums to his name stretching back to the tail end of the '90s. Bless, though, is his first full-length since 2008, and sees the Cleveland, Ohio man transfer to Theo Parrish's legendary Sound Signature imprint. Each of the album's ten tracks comes dripping in hazy, late night soul, as Hanna smoothly shuffles between hazy nu-jazz explorations and various strains of sensual deep house. For the DJs there are plenty of floor-friendly moments, while the inclusion of a string of groovier downtempo workouts should please the home listening posse.

Review: Alex Attias' Visions Inc imprint has decided to launch a new multi-artist EP series. Happily, the first "Phase" in the "Evolution" series - they've promised three more this year - delivers a suitably strong start. Patrice Scott sets a high benchmark with opener "Rain Dance", a wonderfully warm fusion of elastic deep house beats, spacey electronic motifs and tactile Rhodes chords, before Kai Alce breaks up the beats a little on his effortlessly soulful, jazz-funk influenced revision of "Stay My Way" by Kemetic Just presents Justone. Hanna's flipside opener "Heist" is suitably deep, starry, groovy and soulful, while Reekee's "Let It Make" is a musically rich affair full of jazz-funk bass, fizzing synths, far-sighted chords and bustling beats that sit somewhere between broken beat and breakbeat house.
