Fabe - "Angry Wombats" (6:27)
Janeret - "Floating In Space" (7:12)
Review: Crossed Grooves lock in the fine double act of Fabe and Janeret for two more seriously high quality minimal tracks. Fabe's 'Angry Wombats' has a meaty bassline and chunky drum funk run through with some molten acid lines, while Janeret's 'Floating In Space' is perfectly named. The airy pads circle way up high over floating drums that suspend you in the cosmos. As well as the fine music, this 12" comes in a kinetic art sleeve that has been designed and printed by hand in a Parisian workshop.

Minimal/Tech House
D Tool (8:52)
Passion (8:52)
Lush (7:05)
Mind (6:50)
Review: French tech house mainstay Janeret is generally found hanging around labels attached to his home turf like Rutilance, Tartouffe and Yoyaku, but here he links up with Shall Not Fade for an outstanding excursion into prog, electro and silken tech house that proves his worth as a scene-leading producer. 'D Tool' is a deep and throbbing workout with a seductive, dubby edge, while 'Passion' switches stance for a skittering slice of hi-tech soul. 'Lush' lives up to its name with achingly beautiful chord tones blooming out over a sleek, shuffled beat and a sumptuous b-line, and 'Mind' completes the picture with a melodious trip into acid-speckled electro from the soulful end of the spectrum.

Murk (7:35)
Spire (7:12)
Review: Janeret remains a leading light in the realm of minimal tech house, having graced labels like Rutilance, Finale Sessions and Up The Stuss with subliminal club wares for lengthy parties. It makes perfect sense to see the French DJ and producer landing on Fuse, and these four tracks add plenty of flair and functionality to his repertoire. If you value sophistication in the mix with those all important grooves this record has more than enough to keep you shuffling well past the dawn.

Review: ***B-STOCK: Creasing to corners of outer sleeve with split on inner sleeve, but otherwise in excellent condition***

The third release on Chris Stussy's new imprint comes from Frenchman Janeret, who for the past few years has done a fine job curating the Joule imprint, presenting the very best in contemporary tech house and dub techno flavours. Those styles are most certainly on display on the Difference EP, with swing-fuelled opener 'Reminiscence' calling to mind that classic Cabinet Records vibe of old, as well as the rolling and cavernous 'Fusion' which will engulf you and draw you into its glacial realm. On the flip, the emotive and sensual closer 'Feelin' goes deep, this is proper mood music for the warm-up or afterhours alike.

Deep House
Bright (6:13)
Rear (8:49)
Bright (Varhat remix) (9:58)
Review: Further proof of the current rude health of Paris's deep house scene arrives in the shape of another rock solid EP from prolific producer Mickael Jeanerret, AKA Janeret. The Bright E.P more than lives up to its' name, with the title track delivering a near perfect blend of bushy-eyed beats, ethereal pads, deep space riffs and fluttering, manipulated vocal samples. The EP's other original cut, "Rear", boasts similarly drifting chords, but also a tech-tinged beat pattern that's as bold and funky as they come. Rising star Varhat does a terrific job remixing "Bright", retaining Jeanerret's dub techno-inspired textures, whilst adding his own Syclops-inspired synth bassline.

Sungrazer (6:55)
Astral (9:10)
Review: More from hard working Parisian producer Mickael Jeanerret, AKA Janeret, as he swaps grown-up deep house for Motor City inspired dancefloor pastures. A-side "Sungrazer" is particularly special; a spacey, mood-enhancing romp that wraps dreamy chords, sci-fi electronics and gentle acid lines around a crunchy tech-house groove. The TB-303 style acid lines play an even more prominent role on deeper, but arguably more rhythmically powerful, flipside "Astral". These nagging, restless motifs effectively drive the track forwards, allowing Jeanerret to delve deep in his box of intergalactic chords for suitably star-gazing accompaniment. He predictably finds the right sound, though it's the weightiness of the drums that really catches the ear.

Janeret - "First Light" (8:32)
D'julz - "Organic" (6:28)
Djebali - "Aliahs" (6:38)
Politics Of Dancing - "One & Only" (7:14)
Review: Amongst the hustle and bustle of the Parisian house music scene Politics Of Dancing have been doing great things for the past three years. Now S.M.A.L.L and Paco are celebrating what they have achieved so far with a 12" that welcomes some highly respected characters to the label alongside familiar favourites. Janeret is on killer form with "First Light", using shimmering dub chords to course their way through a rock solid house beat in a simple but utterly effective style, before D'julz demonstrates his instinct for a killer hook with the organ-led fun and games of "Organic". Djebali keeps things tight and funky on "Aliahs", before the label bosses themselves round the record off with the irrepressible pump of "One & Only".

Comex (7:15)
Yaw (7:50)
Review: The small but already well-formed Flo label out of France welcomes two homebodies in Janet and Miroloja to come together on this sublime two tracker. It is a heady mix of techno styles starting with the adventure that is 'Comex'. This one rides on snappy drums and snare petters, with acid lines gurgling away up top next to twitchy stabs that keep the vibes alive. 'Yaw' takes a different approach - it's a more fair-sighted and introspective affair with balmy pads circling around the smooth grooves. Two timeless grooves for different moments in the night.

Ka One & St-Sene - "Disorder Tones"
Ka One & St-Sene - "Textures"
Janeret - "Abstrakt 9"
Janeret - "Edge"
Review: Flyance Records presents the "Cycles Vol.3".
They stay faithful to the vibes of the first two.
On the A side, two tracks of Ka One & St-Sene:
A1. "Disorder Tones" goes in the raw and the dark side of the deepness, it's a melt between beautiful pads, aggressive chords and strong beat.
A2. "Textures" is a constantly evolves track with full of elements, from deep pads associate to arpeges to the cosmic synths lead by a minimalist beat, it's a journey into the depths.
On the B side, two tracks of Janeret:
B1. "Abstrakt 9" is the first techno track of the "Cycles" series.
The track evolves in a dark atmosphere with a powerful beat, a lead with industrial and space sounds and an aggressive and hypnotic acid line.
The second part of the track evolves in a deep atmosphere with a beautiful pad.
B2. "Edge" Massive beat, atmospheric pads, synthetic arpege and a big break it's a typical Flyance's track.

Mihai Popoviciu - "Simetric" (6:41)
Djoko & Nikita Sisov - "Expectations" (5:39)
Steve O'Sullivan - "Elevator Funk" (6:50)
Janeret - "Subduction" (6:16)
Review: French label Berg Audio is back with a third volume of its Horizons series. Once again Part III perfectly fits with the previous two parts, this time with more superbly dubbed out tech for the heads. It is Mihai Popoviciu who kicks off with the fleshy and heady 'Simetric' before Djoko & Nikita Sisov compline to great effect on 'Expectations' which has crispy drums but lovely watery synth sounds and then comes the Ep hight. Bluetrain master Steve O'Sullivan knows how to make perfectly seductive dub sounds and shows that again on the ice cold 'Elevator Funk' while Janeret's 'Subduction' is a balmy deep house cut.
