Review: Courtesy of Balance is back with a new Various Artist release focusing on some of France's current underground talents. Janeret comes back on his own, while Tomska, Toni Be and Deepah all make their first appearance on the label. Nature Rhythm - "Ocean Drive" (6:16)
Janeret - "Solstice" (6:08)
Gabriel - "Atout Jaybacule" (6:46)
Review: True deep house once again emanating from Paris label D.KO Records, this time in various artist form. Full of debutants, Mickael Jeanneret is the veteran of this release and he turns in a liquid cut of floating drum and bass that combines the best of Kerri Chandler with LTJ Bukem in "Solstice". The Rag Dabons collaboration kicks off the compilation with a forever uplifting "C La Qui Arrive" while new name Nature Rhythm adds a two-step feel to "Ocean Drive". Gabriel, one half of Rag Dabons, goes dubby on "Atout Jaybacule" for those who love some Caribbean soul in their house music. Fresh breeze for the summer heat.

Review: French minimal, tech and house master Janaret is back with more spaced out brilliance, this time on Shall Not Fade, one of the UK's most consistently excellent - and eclectic - labels. 'Joy & Happiness' kicks off with crispy tech beats and swirly sci-fi synths while gurgling bass works away down low. 'Silent' is a steamy brew for more peak time moments but never loses its class, and the vibes keep coming with 'Fallin' then slipping into a super cool and breezy late night deep house groove. 'Advanced' closes down with an electro-leaning rhythm that is light up by snappy snares and synth modulations.

Review: Janeret remains a leading light in the realm of minimal tech house, having graced labels like Rutilance, Finale Sessions and Up The Stuss with subliminal club wares for lengthy parties. It makes perfect sense to see the French DJ and producer landing on Fuse, and these four tracks add plenty of flair and functionality to his repertoire. If you value sophistication in the mix with those all important grooves this record has more than enough to keep you shuffling well past the dawn.

Review: Just over a decade after his debut album landed in digital download stores, Janeret has finally got round to releasing LP number two, and this time it lands on vinyl in limited numbers. It's light years ahead of its predecessor and, sonically speaking, more in keeping with the immersive, sci-fi soaked deep house sound he's been cultivating over the last few years. The set begins with a classically intergalactic ambient excursion and ends with a sunny and jazzy slab of drum & bass, but in between we're treated to an impressive array of tactile, sparkling, shimmering and emotive deep house workouts seemingly tailor-made for late-night stargazing, escapist daydreaming and open-air DJ sets at sunrise. A genuine triumph from a producer on the rise.

Review: The third release on Chris Stussy's new imprint comes from Frenchman Janeret, who for the past few years has done a fine job curating the Joule imprint, presenting the very best in contemporary tech house and dub techno flavours. Those styles are most certainly on display on the Difference EP, with swing-fuelled opener 'Reminiscence' calling to mind that classic Cabinet Records vibe of old, as well as the rolling and cavernous 'Fusion' which will engulf you and draw you into its glacial realm. On the flip, the emotive and sensual closer 'Feelin' goes deep, this is proper mood music for the warm-up or afterhours alike.

Further proof of the current rude health of Paris's deep house scene arrives in the shape of another rock solid EP from prolific producer Mickael Jeanerret, AKA Janeret. The Bright E.P more than lives up to its' name, with the title track delivering a near perfect blend of bushy-eyed beats, ethereal pads, deep space riffs and fluttering, manipulated vocal samples. The EP's other original cut, "Rear", boasts similarly drifting chords, but also a tech-tinged beat pattern that's as bold and funky as they come. Rising star Varhat does a terrific job remixing "Bright", retaining Jeanerret's dub techno-inspired textures, whilst adding his own Syclops-inspired synth bassline.

Review: Aze's reissues continue with this latest one from Janeret which actually only came out in early 2018 but sounds effortlessly timeless. "Neptune" gets underway with a far sighted cosmic deep house groove. The keys are soft, the drums delicious. "Abyss" then ups the pace, but stays just as silky and fluid with its rolling final drums and "Atlas" then just things up with a more punchy drum line and busy groove. The trip is completed with the superb "Odyssey", with frictionless drum rotations and balmy, bendy pads all proving irresistible. House music doesn't come more seductive and smooth than this.

Review: From the word go, this EP from Yoyaku regular Janeret (real name Mickail Jeanneret) feels like one of his finest collection of cuts to date. Title track "Critical" is simply superb: a chunky, sweat-soaked fusion of bumpin' deep house grooves, wiggly acid lines and Detroit style sci-fi techno sounds that's as ear-pleasing as it is floor-friendly. Voightmann's accompanying remix is great too, with the German producer re-casting the track as a woozy trip through deep space tech-house goodness. Elsewhere on the EP, "Journey" is a bolder, warmer and more percussive deep house cut rich in techno style electronics and "Axis" sits somewhere between deep electro and jacking Chicago house.

Neptune (7:24)
Abyss (8:08)
Atlas (8:05)
Odyssey (7:19)
Review: On his first 12" of 2018, Mickael Janeret is in a particularly spacey mood. Inspired by Neptune, the four-tracker combines his usual electronic warmth and crunchy deep house drums with the kind of intergalactic, futurist musical elements more often found in proper Detroit techno. This fusion is particularly notable on the superb title track and undulating deep space house of acid-flecked roller "Abyss", though it can also be heard amongst the gentle acid lines, saucer-eyed chords and glistening deep house electric piano solos of "Atlas". To complete a fine package, Janaret doffs a cap to supersonic dub techno via the darting space synths and thickset deep house rhythms of "Odyssey". Stellar stuff, all told.

Review: Mickael Jeanneret is Janeret, a deep house producer from Paris who now finds himself with a release on promising new Russian label Berg Audio who have previously served up the likes of iO (Mulen) and Andre Kronert. For the Kord EP, the title track is a densely layered yet sublime and rolling journey through the dub techno sound and executed tastefully. Its remix by Berlin tech house hero Diego Krause respectfully retains the dubbiness yet injects it with more groove and swagger. On the flip, "Air" ventures down a much deeper route with emotive pads and hypnotic dub chords working to great effect. The Dilated Pupils affiliated Ben Buitendijk delivers a brilliant rework, covering the track in the right amount of dust and rust like he only can.

So we are getting right to the music with the first track "Midnight Soul" One of my favorites for sure with its beautiful keys and its rich pads and it's enormous bass this track is a latenight beater for sure. Track two"Contrast"is more on the techier side of things with more pads and a think basline no question a floor pumper it also has really nice drums to flavor that nice vocal. Track three " Subdub " This track is more for the dub Techno crowd for sure with its super deep chords and its deep sub ambiance sound Track four " Ehtereal " Electro Madness is I am going to say ..Thanks for supporting Finale Sessions

Review: DJ Steaw and Gunnter's Rutilance Recordings has been going strong for a couple of years now. Their M.O.? Spreading the gospel of deep house, we'd guess! They're doing pretty well on that front then. Paris producer Janeret produces sexy music for night people. Fans of Dessous or Dogmatik should take note. First track on the A side "Heat" features a bouncy synth bassline and rich synth and pad tapestries reminiscent of UK legend Jimpster. "Straightaway" features uplifting organ stabs and a tough swing fuelled beat, perfect for those peak time moments. On the flip "Surge" keeps on with the uptempo vibe, injecting some vocals, razor sharp synth leads and that bass; so bouncy! Finally he throws us a right curveball with the liquid drum and bass of "Throb" summoning the spirit of LTJ Bukem, and damn well!

Now S.M.A.L.L and Paco are celebrating what they have achieved so far with a 12" that welcomes some highly respected characters to the label alongside familiar favourites. Janeret is on killer form with "First Light", using shimmering dub chords to course their way through a rock solid house beat in a simple but utterly effective style, before D'julz demonstrates his instinct for a killer hook with the organ-led fun and games of "Organic". Djebali keeps things tight and funky on "Aliahs", before the label bosses themselves round the record off with the irrepressible pump of "One & Only".

Review: Expoz by JanaretT & Miroloja marks another successful collaboration between the two camps, delivering four tracks of beautiful spacey melodic techno and tech house. The A-side opens with the title track, 'Expoz,' a club-focused tech house anthem that balances techy elements with pulsating melodies, setting the tone for the EP. Following is 'Fraistival,' offering a slightly progressive house vibe with a captivating melody that flows seamlessly. On Side 2, 'Anomisk' emerges as a catchy builder, drawing listeners in with its infectious rhythm and evolving layers. Closing the EP is 'Vertu,' a chill deep house gem perfect for late-night sessions, exuding class and elegance while maintaining a melodic allure. The resulting collaboration continues to give us tracks that are both hypnotic and immersive.

Review: Operating out of Rennes in France, Rutilance has worked hard to establish itself as a label of note in the deep house field of interest, whilst sticking to a close network of artists such as Sunny Galaxy and Jay Shaw as well as label boss DJ Steaw. This double pack release celebrates what has been achieved in two years of operations with a diverse selection that ranges from the dubby tones of Kicks' "Pipeline" to the even dubbier tones of Ortella's "Heartbeat", and then on to the bassy simmer of John Jastszebski's "Downtown" or the garage bump and calming tones of MArotti's "Pressure". If you're a lover of quality deep house played from the heart then there's more than enough to satisfy your appetite here.

K One - "Escape"
Janeret - "Let's Get Back"
St Sense - "Juke Joint"
Janeret - "NY Flava"
Review: The third release from the 124 Recordings label throws the spotlight on the current rich seam of house music bubbling up in Paris, with three producers from the French capital contributing to the Dubble Dubs 12". The tracks from K One, St Sene and Janeret are all united by their clear Detroit and Chicago influences; K One's "Escape" sets the tone with a classicist production characterised by intricate chords, luscious vocals and sparse percussion. "Let's Get Back" is the first of two Janeret productions and opts for a more bumping Chicago flex, all finger snaps and snatches of gospel vocal which is a real hands in the air delight in full flight. "Juke Joint" from St Sene opens the B Side in style, a deep vocal groover with a thick lead chord pattern that hooks you right away whilst Janeret's "My Flava" ends on a markedly deeper note.

Review: Flyance Records presents the "Cycles Vol.3".
They stay faithful to the vibes of the first two.
On the A side, two tracks of Ka One & St-Sene:
A1. "Disorder Tones" goes in the raw and the dark side of the deepness, it's a melt between beautiful pads, aggressive chords and strong beat.
A2. "Textures" is a constantly evolves track with full of elements, from deep pads associate to arpeges to the cosmic synths lead by a minimalist beat, it's a journey into the depths.
On the B side, two tracks of Janeret:
B1. "Abstrakt 9" is the first techno track of the "Cycles" series.
The track evolves in a dark atmosphere with a powerful beat, a lead with industrial and space sounds and an aggressive and hypnotic acid line.
The second part of the track evolves in a deep atmosphere with a beautiful pad.
B2. "Edge" Massive beat, atmospheric pads, synthetic arpege and a big break it's a typical Flyance's track.

Review: Back in 2015, DJ Steaw and Gunnter's Rutilance Records label dropped the simply titled Volume 1, a double-pack compilation brimming with tasty deep house treats. Predictably, this follow-up is equally as potent and includes some stunning stuff. Check, for example, the classic New Jersey deep house revivalism of Ketraj's "Odyssey", the sub-bass heavy US garage stomp of Tell's "Fully Pumped" and the deep tech-house shuffle of Janeret's "Echoes". Label co-owner Gunnter rounds things off nicely with two fine tracks of his own (the piano-laden Balearic house goodness of "Chordzzz" being our pick), while those looking for something slower and baggier should head for the boogie-influenced bliss of Nephaze's "Seriously".

Review: Having established his own Basic Grooves imprint with a trio of sultry New Jersey influenced house releases, Shane Linehan hands the fourth release over to up and coming French producer Janeret. "Hard Deep" goes even, ahem, deeper that Linehan's efforts for the label, combining a slamming mid-tempo kick drum with crisp and cavernous dub piano chords and the subtlest of organ riffs, making a nice contrast to the more upbeat styles of Linehan. On the flip, Linehan delivers his own version of track which ups the tempo and offers a ravey, pitched take on the original's simple one chord piano line, complete with bristling hi-hats and warm pad breakdown.
