Here We Go
Cat: FW 032. Rel: 03 Apr 23

Techno
Here We Go (6:54)
The Spice (7:00)
The Second Corner (5:40)
Review: Jay Lumen goes direct to the dancefloor with this new 12" for the Germany label Footwork. His hefty ruling style is laid bare from the first kick drums of 'Here We Go'. It's weighty, linear and riddled with freaky synth motifs, blasts of distorted white noise and warped pads that melt the mind. 'The Spice' is another edgy cut with chords keeping you in suspense as barreling drums and frosty pads peel away. 'The Second Corner' is the most peak time and funky techno offering of the lot with early Detroit vibes, hammering hist and flashes of synth acting like strobes.

A Sides Vol 11 Part 6
Cat: DC 2716. Rel: 03 May 23

Techno
Jay Lumen - "Astronaut" (7:14)
LAAT - "Call Of The Tribes" (6:14)
Mark Reeve - "Run Back" (Remake) (6:38)
Zimmz - "Qualia" (6:21)
Review: Adam Beyer's esteemed Drumcode resurfaces this week with the next installment in the A Sides series. We're already up to Vol 11's sixth part, and this one seriously means business. Take for instance Hungarian techno hero Jay Lumen's 'Astronaut' featuring the pummelling cyclicality of its muscular bassline that's reinforced by truly visceral kicks. Elsewhere, Dutchman LAAT (Elevate/Tronic) is sure to have you reaching for the lasers on the steely and acid-inflected power on 'Call Of The Tribes' while the enigmatic Zimmz will properly elevate you to maximum euphoria on the trance-influenced energy of 'Qualia'.
