Review: With a lead-heavy legacy from the late 80s and early 90s, Loop surprised everyone when they reformed in 2013 for a series of live shows and an EP. Robert Hampson's riff-oriented psychedelia has a certain evergreen quality which splits the difference between shoegaze washes and stoner fuzz, slipping out of time somewhere between the 70s and the future and sounding all the richer for it. After 2015's Array EP, Loop return with a proper full-length - the format they were meant to be absorbed on. Sonancy is everything you'd want from a Loop record - epic in scope, thick with distortion and effects, but ultimately built for dreamers.
