Triton (Aera remix) (6:53)
Phobos (Echonomist remix) (8:03)
Review: The techno bromance between Stephan Bodzin and Marc Romboy feels almost as old as electronic music itself. But this new 12" - which comes on the Systematic label that has housed most of their work - updates the German pair's sound through a series of contemporary remixes. The opener from Ben Bohmer is a deep and icy roller, ANNA & Wehbba bring machine grit and grime to their churning take on 'Ferdinand' and Aera layers in meticulous synth modulations. Last of all is a wide open melodic techno complete with sweeping synths. It's a fine rework by Echonomist that is perfect for enchanting big crowds.

Kerberos Revisited (Solomun & Johannes Brecht remix) (8:33)
Kerberos (Andre Hommen remix) (6:40)
Kerberos (Matador remix) (8:06)
Review: In recent times, demand has soared for second-hand copies of Stefan Bodzin and Marc Romboy's 2014 cut "Kerberos". Wisely, Systematic has decided to reissue it, backing the original version - a quietly positive chunk of melodious tech-house bristling with memorable, rising and falling electronic motifs - with a trio of fresh reworks. The first of these comes from Solomun and Johannes Brecht, whose interpretation tends towards the grandiose, elevating the original to a higher level via bolder electronics and stronger Berlinian beats. In contrast, Andre Hommen harnesses the track's innate positivity, inserting a blissful, saucer-eyed breakdown that should get the hairs on the back of your neck standing to attention. Finally, Matador delivers a smooth, shuffling and bass-heavy revision that's closest in tone to Bodzin and Romboy's original.

Molecule - "Sila" (Madben remix) (7:04)
Denis Horvat - "Guilty Pleasure" (8:11)
Luke Brancaccio & Simon Berry - "Close Your Eyes" (vs John Digweed & Nick Muir) (6:29)
Review: Alongside Bedrock XX: a new compilation (and mix) of exclusive tunes celebrating the label's 20th anniversary, boss John Digweed also presents the tenth edition of his Live In series here - where he ventured to Tokyo's legendary Contact club earlier in 2018. This all nighter is one they'll still be talking about to years for come. There will be a limited edition vinyl pressing of a dozen or so of the 64 tracks featured in his complete mix (across three volumes) featuring the likes of Jimmy Van M, Pascal FEOS, Robert Babicz and many more. Part 1 features French hi-tech soul merchant Madben: whose adrenalised rendition of Molecule's "Sila" will propel you directly into the stratosphere, melodic techno expert Denis Horvat serves up "Guilty Pleasure" where the rising Danish star presents more of his highly engineered sonic futurism and label bosses John Digweed and Nick Muir appear also: with a sleek and brooding rework of Luke Brancaccio & Simon Berry's "Close Your Eyes".

Marc Romboy - "Asteroids" (10:06)
Rober Babicz - "Space Disco" (6:25)
Luke Brancaccio & Simon Berry - "Close Your Eyes" (feat JJD) (7:48)
Review: Earlier in the year, Bedrock chief John Digweed headed to Tokyo for a set at Contact - one of the best underground clubs in the world. The basement club has a low ceiling, minimal lighting and an incredible sound system. The set (which featured a whopping 64 tracks) captures the legend's set from start to finish: from the deep/moody opening tracks, to the peak time bangers and everything in between. The tenth edition in his 'Live In' series is released on a limited vinyl run, with a select number of tracks on wax. Disc Two here features the hyper-melodic drift of Systematic's Marc Romboy on "Asteroids", the veteran artist formerly known as Rob Acid (Robert Babicz) with some powerful futurist soul on "Space Disco" and Luke Brancaccio & Simon Berry with some tripped-out tunnel vision on "Close Your Eyes" (feat JJD).

Garden Of Cyrus (8:17)
Caper Tran (8:40)
Review: Given that Music Man regular Petar Dundov and Systematic boss Marc Romboy are both hugely successful producers in their own right, you'd expect this first collaborative release to be rather good. It is, of course, with pleasingly melodic A-side "Garden of Cyrus" leading the way. While the track's muted (but heavy) drums and squeezable acidic bassline provide the energy, it's the duo's layered electronic melody lines that really catch the ear. If you're in the mood for something darker and more suitable for pitch-black Berlin basements, creepy and hypnotic flipside "Caper Tran" should more than fit the bill.

Review: Germany's always club-ready label Frank Music is back with another beefy 12" that finds mainstays and newcomers unite in fine fashion. Johannes Albert and Lauer open up with a trio of collaborations that go from full throttle, chord led house on 'Based on Boss' to the deeper grooves of 'Four 44' and far sighted, soul drenched tech of 'Posh-O-Rama'. Boris Dlugosch, Marc Romboy & CAR step up on the B-side with the woozy and hypnotic 'Survivor' which also gets remixed by Johannes Albert into something more raw. Useful grooves for sure.

Review: Marc Romboy is a techno titan who has been serving up the goods seemingly forever. Much of it has come on his own Systematic label which is where he has commissioned this series of remixes of Music Made For Aliens. The double album is packed with new school inventions starting with Toto Chiavetta's remix of 'Intelligence' which is the sort of patient, emotive main room cut to make a devastating impact. Elsewhere the likes of Bawrut remixes 'Blanc Triangles' into a slithering and brightly coloured synth workout and An On Bast remixes 'All Worlds, All Times' into a gritty and heads-down stomper. Josh Wink shuts down with his usual style amongst many other highlights.

Review: The latest album by techno big-namer Marc Romboy is another noisy heater, erring on the side of buzzsawing leads and precision banger science. Drawing on his childhood influences gleaned between the cities of Berlin and Hamburg, 'Music Made For Aliens' sonically assumes 4x4 kick drums to be what aliens default to preferring for their dance music at all; it's a very optimistic solution to the Fermi Paradox! That being said, it is also undeniably suitable for techno-loving humans too, with tracks like 'Hanenda' making stellar use of angsty, toothy lead lines and broken beat numbers such as 'Intelligence' bringing up the album's more atmospheric latter half.

Review: You can always rely on Kompakt's Speicher series to cook up some fresh and edgy tech and techno sounds. It is a long running mainstay of the underground from the Cologne label and now it links up with a techno legend in the form of Marc Romboy. He brings plenty of electric synth work to his first tune 'Randomized.' It's a scintillating cut with frazzled lines and eerie breakdowns. On the flip side, 'Monsieur Buchla' then builds with more rugged bass and rolling drums. The synths are modulated frequencies that boggle the brain and will make for some mad club plays.

Review: We've come accustomed to Marc Romboy delivering fine, full-length excursions that join the dots between techno and house. Voyage De La Planete, though, is something totally different: an intergalactic exploration of ambient, electronica, and seductive downtempo compositions. It's a blueprint that guarantees hazy, head-in-the-clouds thrills, from the Nils Frahm style piano motifs of "La Lune Et La Etoile" and dark, clandestine throb of the Black Merlin-esque "Phenix", to the Namlook style bliss of string-drenched closer "Nocturne" - with its gently undulating beats and sweeping orchestration - and picturesque, break-of-dawn sumptuousness of "Atom De Danse". We're not quite sure why Romboy has decided to go in this direction, but we have no complaints: fundamentally, Voyage De La Planet is a superb set.

Dark N' Lovely (Kenny Larkin remix)
Review: After almost 15 years in the world of electronic music, Marc Romboy felt the urge to start the Systematic label as an outlet for fierce, pumping and forward-thinking house music. Since that decision, he has stuck to the plan with a long and impressive list of vinyl cuts now decorating the label's discography. Marc Romboy vs Paris The Black FU's new cut "Dark N' Lovely" has Detroit smothered all over it with its determined and thumping kick, stabling key sequences, rapid hi-hats and sultry spoken vocals. Old school and classically pounding, the original gets full points and is playing on a loop here at Juno HQ! On the flip, legendary producer/not so legendary stand-up comedian Kenny Larkin gets to grips with a remix. Equally banging, Larkin builds the atmosphere with ascending keys lifting and lowering with suspense to the bouncing rhythm. This is real tech house - go get!

Review: Herzblut is back. After the release of his debut LP 'Liebe Ist..', which set new standards on planet techno, Stephan Bodzin
returns with his long-time friend and production partner Marc Romboy to open the 6th chapter of the already legendary label.
'Ariel' is nothing but a true club-berserker, sounding as if Romboy & Bodzin had jacked a dive bomber heading towards the
dancefloor, kamikaze-style. The flipside is a powerful efx-loaded builder which creates an atmospheric tension, while perfectly
displaying the true Romboy/Bodzin production skills.

Review: The already well-travelled 'I Am a Dancer' cut that was originally produced by Marc Romboy and C.A.R. and debuted on Kompakt's acclaimed Total 21 album now undergoes some vibrant transformations with three new mixes. Marc Romboy & Sinisa Tamamovic goes first and make it into a steamy, weighty but deep and pulsing track that drips with sweat and lust. The Skatman remix is much more for the big room with its grinding low ends and epic breakdowns and Dense & Pika then bring some unstoppable and rolling waves of techno power to their version. Cheers.

Review: One of the most popular and forward thinking composers associated with impressionist music, Claude Debussy's innovative composition style inspired countless artists from the likes of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. Through parallel chords and bitonality, in addition to the use of whole-tone and pentatonic scales: there were no limits or boundaries. The French composer very much challenged the traditional status quo in harmonic sounding scale tone music of the time. After studying countless composers of the last century, Systematic Recordings boss Marc Romboy took up the challenge to edit, remix and reconstruct several works of his favourite composer. Here he performs electronics together with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Ingo-Martin Stadtmuller), with Dusseldorf based concert master Miki Kekenj and sound programmer Ali Khalaj. The recordings took place on December 12th 2016.

Review: Notching up 15 successful years as a record label is some feat in this day and age, so it's understandable that Systematic has decided to mark reaching this milestone in style. The German imprint's anniversary EP - a tidy looking picture disc - fittingly kicks off with a track by founder Marc Romboy. He's at his mesmerizing best on "Shooting Stars Never Stop", a deep tech-house roller rich in cascading melodies, starry electronics, subtle acid lines and clanking machine drums. Rodriguez Jr offers up the elongated chords, hypnotic grooves and glassy-eyed positivity of "Okeechobee", before Artbat doffs a hat to mid-90s UK techno on the aptly titled "Orbital". To round things off, John Digweed joins forces with Nick Muir on the shimmering brilliance of "Alkouln", whose loved-up breakdown is simply stunning.

Review: "The Alchemist" is the debut 20:20 Vision single from German uber-producers Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin, responsible for the biggest deep techno and house records of 2006. Bodzin and Romboy are responsible for the massive tracks "Atlas" and "Ferdinand" on Systematic and "Rubin" on the International DJ Gigolo label. "The Alchemist" was first released as an anonymous white label and has become one of the most in demand minimal tracks of the summer. "The Alchemist" and "The Old Alchemist" are superb examples of the minimal techno scene currently, defining the sound on dance floors from DC10 (Ibiza) to Secretsundaze (London) and Panorama Bar (Berlin). Its original, deep and dark sounds plus crazy effects are a recipe for a trip to the other side of the orbit. The white label version of this release was one of the biggest minimal house sellers of the summer.
