Review: French crew Increase The Groove have been building up a fine head of steam over their first nine releases, and the 10th is another tidy one. It brings together four emerging producers who each have their own style. Ghini B's "Recut" is a clipped and kinetic opener with spinning hi hats bursting out of the groove. There is a fine electro break at the heart of Marius's sci-fi trip "Paranoid", ten Oden nails you to the floor with his early Chicago style house kicker "Relief." Vitess closes things with the bubbly tech funk of "Random Player", making this a vital and versatile EP.

Review: French label BinarySound are doing a stellar job of keeping things interesting in the wider minimal-not-minimal scene, having carried the likes of Antoine Sy, Le Loup and Cedric Dekowski on recent releases. It's been a couple of years since the last VA split release, so get yourselves acquainted with some fresh talent courtesy of this tidy 12". Noiro and Marius inject the A-side with some moody, chunky tech house pressure which takes its cues from Nu Groove and adds a little wonky after-hours magic into the recipe. Funktroid flips the script with a snappy slice of 80s-informed electro-disco and Luca Piermattei completes the scene with a bouncy slice of funky techno heavy on the melodic sci-fi stylings.
