Review: King Diamond fronted, proto black metal legends Mercyful Fate, are a group that require little introduction to any black-hearted soul who considers themselves a true metal fan. Following on from 1993's reunion album Into The Shadows, their fourth full-length Time would arrive the very next year just in time (no pun intended) for Halloween 1994. Now almost three decades on, both lifers and newcomers alike have an opportunity to spin this underrated gem in its truest form. With lyrical topics delving into the macabre and Satanic, with even the standout cut 'The Mad Arab' detailing the H.P. Lovecraft character Abdul Alhazred, who authored the fictional forbidden tome of occult lore The Necronomicon, this is a grandiose, theatrical and Satanic Panic pushing collection of classic, parents upsetting, falsetto shrieking gothic heavy metal for all seasons.
