  1. Hakim Murphy & Christopher Rau - "Floorz Hop" (6:14)
  2. Hakim Murphy & Christopher Rau - "Again Agin" (6:48)
  3. NC 17 - "Gasoline Or Dettol" (6:46)
  4. Mezigue & Christopher Rau - "Honk For Peace" (3:08)
Review: In support of the joys of teamwork, Smallville regular Christopher Rau has launched Totally Together, a new label committed to releasing collaborations between producers. He handles the first 12" himself, joining forces with a succession of artists across four fine tracks. The A-side boasts two hook-ups with Chicago's Hakim Murphy; the sweaty, jackin' drum machine beats and wayward electronics of "Floorz Hop", and the bass-heavy deep house wooziness of "Again Agin" [sic]. On the flip, Rau joins forces with Nathan Jonson as NC 17, delivering the ghetto-house influenced Chi-town bump of "Gasoline or Dettol" (think winding synth horns, crunchy drum machine handclaps and throbbing sub-bass), before laying down the ultra-deep, ultra-melodious "Carrier" alongside Mezigue.

  1. St Paul - "Tonight With You Baby" (5:51)
  2. Madcat - "Quarter Century" (5:10)
  3. Mezigue - "Il Faudra Remercier Pierre" (6:04)
  4. Lo Life - "Ill At Delphia" (Raw mix) (3:30)
Review: The first two releases on Folamour's FHUO label boasted headline-grabbing tracks from the hyped French producer. On release number three he's decided to showcase the work of other like-minded producers instead. Newcomer St Paul kicks things off with the sparkling, boogie-era disco-house cheeriness of "Tonight With You Baby", before Madcat serves up an ear-pleasing chunk of disco-funk/jazz-funk/deep house fusion (the pleasingly percussive "Quarter Century"). Over on side two, Mezigue brilliantly fixes attractive, spaced-out synth lines to a high-tempo rhythm track (think ghetto-house meets Detroit techno, and you're close) before Lo Life gets in full-on orchestral trip-hop mode on the brilliantly produced "Ill at Delphia (Raw Mix)".

  1. Mad Rey - "L'Anguille" (Dodson Beat) (4:37)
  2. Mad Rey - "Afterwork" (6:08)
  3. Mezigue - "House Mezigue L'Homme Du Temps" (6:58)
  4. Mezigue - "New DWN With It" (version 1.2) (5:44)
Review: Two of D.KO's most important players get all smoky on this neatly symmetrical 12"; longstanding label friend and one of its most consistent artists Mad Rey (AKA Quentin Leroy) takes the A with two blunderbuss grooves: "L'Anguille" is based around a crucial soul sample that rises and rises with total house positivity while "Afterwork" nods to late 80s Chicago with its Fingers style bassline and dreamy pads. Label bossman and all-round bemasked mystery Mezigue brings up the rear on the B; "House Mezigue L'Homme Du Temps" playfully ups the tempo a notch or ten with a wry wink to Detroit while "New DWN" is a Rolando style stomper where the dreamiest pads imaginable are underpinned by cement-like kicks. Spark up.
