Review: Some V/As are dubious in their length, seeming to span both EP and mini-compilation length in equal measure, but not this one, which definitely seems to know what it's about. Moiss Music are no stranger to this format, here presenting their second vinyl release 'Watermelon Jam' after the first EP-length four tracker, 'Strawberry Jam'. Nu-disco, funk and house is the name of the game once again, and the tone is set by C Da Afro's 'That Funky Horn' via sample-filtering soul and raucous trumpets. The vocal cuts on this record are among its highlights; Disco Endeavours' 'So High' carries Brandy-esque chirps along a funking house backdrop, while the best of the bunch - 'Feelin's Mutual' by Pookie Knights - channels Carmen or Sylvester in its syrupy refrains and jet-set arps. Even a samba house bit closes it off - a swell all-rounder.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Russian label Moiss Music have spent the past couple of years building up a formidable catalogue of crucial disco house drops on digital, and now they're making their first move on wax with this slab of veritable party heaters. First up The Funk District bring the perfect blend of warm, organic funk and punchy club production for maximum impact. Munky Fike is brimming with positivity on "Oh Disco Baby", while C Da Afro rides the filters good and proper for the effervescent "Groove Definito". Alexny takes things deeper on "Take You Ther", but there's still plenty of space for classic disco licks in the mix.

Review: Tropical Disco are back with Volume 13, unveiling four cuts of disco-house dancefloor shakers on the ever-burgeoning imprint. As a deep, party starting package for jazzed out, groove loving freaks, this one is essential! On the A side label boss Moodena steps up with the funky and lo-slung party starter "Do What You Wanna Do" which is perfect to set the mood, followed by co-head Sartorial on the sultry and hypnotic disco loops of "Kool Geeza". On the flip, Austrian artist Munky Fike goes full on Latin with a wicked brass section on "Funky Disco Queen" before San Diego based production duo Castle Queenside return to the label to round things out with the sun kissed "You've Always Been".
