Review: Sleazy McQueen's Whiskey Disco label seems to be on fire at present, with new EPs of white-hot edits appearing on an almost weekly basis. Predictably, there's more high-grade material on this latest split artist four-tracker. Pontchartain kicks things off with a brilliantly dubbed-out take on Gayle Adams classic "Lifesaver" (previously successfully extended and re-touched by FLX One a few years back), before Osmose delivers organ solos, orgasmic groans and rump shaking beats on "Broadway Kiss". Flip for Derek Kaye's "Holdin' On", a deliciously celebratory number full of cheery scat vocals and incessant grooves, and "I Got Your Wang", a cheery, sun-kissed chunk of disco perfection from Rulefinns Kravstor.

Finn Bernhard Tellefsen has been serving up sizzling edits on his own imprint for the best part of five years, so it's arguably little surprise to find him showcasing his wares on Whiskey Disco - an edit imprint that tends to recruit the cream of the crop. The Norwegian producer first offers up "Kjempegreie", a surprisingly spaced-out sounding revision of a percussion-laden European fusion of synth-pop and dub disco that sounds like it was initially recorded (and released) in the early 1980s. Over on the flip Tellefsen dances (and dubs) his way through a deliciously camp, high energy disco number ("Never Gonna Be The Same"), before rearranging and beefing up a more sweet and soulful disco number ("True Love").

Review: More glittersome obscurities from the Finnitus family as they arrive fashionably late to the 2017 party with their first edit dispatch of the year. Label champion Rulefinn lays down the law with some shrieking string stabs and a jazz funk line that refuses to quit on "Barfot". Moscow merrymaker Beard In Dust gets freaky on the wah wahs with a rapid fire funk jam while Polish soulboy Karara continues the sultry theme he set on The Very Polish Cut-Outs with a honey-toned slinker "Moon Child". Crisp.

Review: Rule-breaking Rulefinn returns with three more far-out edits for our pleasure. "LOL" takes the lead as Rulefinn teams up with Kim Durbeck for a strung out strutter that's laced with Bernard bass and, inexplicitly, a manic laughter track over the top. Familiar yet trippy, drop this at the right time to really hit your floor sideways. On the B Rulefinn goes solo with two more beauties "Just Try" is a pitched up soul joint that loops and loops with subtle momentum while "Let The OK Music Play" is percussive gold for all creative mixers out there.
