Review: Trux' second EP on Berlin based record label Office is a bow to the many outstanding moments in the history of Ambient music. Allusions to Brian Eno are just as recognisable as to the charming concepts of Pop Ambient or Clicks & Cuts. It's between these poles that the four tracks on the a-side oscillate and manage to capture the listener with vibrant and diverse soundscapes. The flip side sees Trux drop a stunning melodic breakbeat tune besides remixes by Workshop's premier Techno chef Lowtec as well as a freestyle Electronica version by O$VMV$M. The much loved Super Quiet tops the record artwork off with another remarkable example of his casual and airy black and white photography.

Review: Following up an impressive debut on Baaz's Office Recordings in 2016, the mysterious Trux return with a collection of dubby ambient electronica and experimentalism on Orbiter, for Avenue 66 - which has previously presented works by Joey Anderson and Lowtec. This diverse album takes in a wide variety of moods: lush and aquatic deep techno as heard on the title track or "My Row". Tracks like "Blinko" are hazy, texturised, beatless excursions geared for armchair journeys, while "In My World" or "Angoma" respectively delve deep into exotic electronica - much in the vein of artists on French label Antinote. A stunning and cohesive effort which indeed has been very much worth the wait.

Review: Berlin's Office Recordings has always released sparingly, and this is perhaps what has saved them from becoming too attached to one genre or trend, and instead travelling at their own pace and on their own agenda. The label introduces newcomer Trux to the scene, a mystery artist who props up out of nowhere armed with eight pellets of ambient and drum experimentation - we're listening. Aside from the lo-fi, over-layered patterns of abstract pieces such as "Aziol" or "Pattern" itself, other tunes like "Ada" or Skarb" recall the Actress sort of dynasty, and the artist manages to conjure airy grooves made up of drone plates and intangible drum circles. It's an alchemistic sort of sound, and one that is surely set to earn Trux plenty of fans. Tip!

Review: Despite he or she having delivered a number of highly regarded releases since debuting in 2016, we still don't know the identity of the "mystery producer" behind the Trux project. It barely matters, of course, but it would be nice to know who to direct praise towards. You see, "Eleven", the producer's second full-length excursion, is really rather good. It begins with a becalmed and slowly pulsing ambient soundscape (the liquid bliss of "Another World") and ends with a dusty chunk of sample-rich haziness ("Soda"). In between, you'll find an impressive range of cuts that brilliantly mix and match elements of vintage IDM, ambient techno, and glitchy electronica.
