Review: You couldn't get more authenticity on one record if you tried... Certified selector dons DJ Pippi and Willie Graff bless the dance with their first official studio collaboration since 2007's "Hyper Space" on Drumpoet. The wait's been worth it; "Save That Magic Feeling" is a purring Balearic deep house soul jam with a strong vocal allure while "Everything's Groovin' On" eases back on a cool low-swung break groove and looped vocal harmonies to seductive effect. Remix-wise Ron Basejam strips it back for an early 2000s Classic Music Company style late night twist while Siren continues the stripped back theme but in a much sleazier, slippery funk way. Magic.

Review: Since first joining forces in 2007, frequent collaborators DJ Pippi and Willie Graff have established themselves amongst the higher echelons of the Balearic fraternity, primarily by delivering records that offer a soft-focus blend of disco, deep house and downtempo grooves. Their latest single - a cover of Ewan McColl's loved-up 'First Time Ever I Saw Your Face', a song famously turned into a 1980s Balearic classic by Joanna Law - offers a particularly sumptuous variation on their sonic blueprint, with their original mix (B1) combining luscious orchestration, Spanish guitar solos, shuffling samba drums and a stirring lead vocal from Clarita de Quiroz. Phil Mison's Cantoma Dub provides a slightly tougher but no less Balearic variation, while Roberto Lodola's vocal and instrumental mixes give the track a warming and jazzy deep house feel.

Review: Denmark's Music For Dreams continues to provide fine, off-kilter deep house by the truckload, and this new single from Drumpoet Community's Willie Graff and Darren Eboli is a lovely flash of sun-kissed dance music to bring the summer months in. "Love Flight" is an aptly dreamy wash of gentle house beats, while "First Light" expands further out into the ether. On the flip, "Second Sun" brings in a lush, warm bass that gets the groove on the funky side, leaving "Moon Tan" to bubble gently in a pool of tropical percussion jingles that could easily be left on repeat. Nice stuff from both label and artists!

Review: DJ Qu's Strength Music returns with more darkroom dubs. On the first side, we have Spanish-American producer Willie Graff once again collaborating with Italian scene stalwart Giuseppe Tuccillo - following up some great music they've done for the likes of Freerange, Local Talk and Finale Sessions several years ago. Rest assured they're in top form again on "To The Music". But it's boss man DJ Qu's remix up next that will entrance you with its rich tapestry of immaculate rhythms, reaching near tribal moments. On the flip, he serves up a new original in the form of "Figure Six" but instead this one is a brooding, tunnelling, heads-down affair for the late night.
