Acid End (9:11)
Tracing Lines (6:10)
Untitled (7:00)
Isolate(For Pav) (7:56)
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Remote_ is a criminally overlooked figure in techno, held in high regard by those tuned in to his sublime, deep diving approach. Meanwhile is a label that's been hip to his sound since the early 00s, putting out a couple of immaculate 12"s and now finally following up with this stunning fresh transmission of heavy dubbing, smokers choice beatdowns. There's a delicate house throb pulsing through these jams, but the slithering beats are mere vessels for gorgeous swathes of woozy pads and submerged basslines - this is refined and understated deep techno elegance for connoisseurs to melt down into.

A Sagittariun - "Proof" (7:11)
Gilbert - "Polynoid" (6:14)
Sean Dixon - "Our Love For Music" (5:57)
Review: The Innate label made a sizable impact with its first release - a killer various artists 12" with Mark Hand, Lerosa and others. Now it returns with another balanced mix of established and emergent artists, leading in with a stunning A side cut from A Sagittariun delivering what might be his most beautiful production to date - a swooning, snaking slice of melodious techno that brims with emotion and canny programming. After turning heads on the first Innate release, Gilbert returns with "Polynoid," a punchy, Lately bass-powered workout with lashings of Motor City soul heaped on top. Sean Dixon completes the package with "Our Love For Music," a pointed machine mantra that maintains the classic techno tone Innate is shaping up as its MO.

Make It (5:18)
Xecute (5:32)
Comet Commuter (5:56)
Globe Gazer (6:12)
Review: Nyra continues to use his Canoe label as a vessel for his most personal creative impulses across the dance music spectrum. The ninth instalment on the label kicks off with the ravey flashes of "Make It" before swerving into the rugged, bassweight techno stomp of "Xecute." Edging in a little Italo sauce to meet with tough and gritty techno force, "Comet Commuter" is a clear highlight on the record, and then "Globe Gazer" seals the deal with an upfront charger carefully crafted for the peak time hour and carrying bountiful synth lines to lift the energy of the room skywards.

W5 (7:22)
W6 (6:20)
W7 (8:22)
W8 (feat Cold) (6:20)
Review: Waage is part of the new generation of Icelandic dub techno producers orbiting labels like the long-standing Thule. His second release appears on XOZ, following 12"s from the likes of Yagya, Exos and more. "W5" is a tough affair with bloated kicks and a subtle swing in the groove, all the better to let ripples of delay ping between. "W6" takes a more chugging approach to the beat programming, but the mood remains heavy and gritty. "W7" lightens things a little with some airy chord processing, and then Cold chips in for a collaborative effort on "W8" - the most tender track on the 12".

Ascot/WW - "FIFA 98" (4:56)
Alphonse - "Direct Transient" (7:07)
Jamie Blanco - "Acid Damage" (5:47)
ToneBreak 3 (3:57)
Review: When it comes to revivalist rave music, no other label does it quite as well as Tone Dropout. Their multi-artist EPs are invariably excellent and this seventh edition once again hits the mark. Dawl kicks things off via the fizzing "bleep and breaks" business of "Nebulon", before Daif dishes up some sweaty breakbeats and mind-altering analogue bass. Ascot and WW join forces for the bleep-goes-breakdance bustle of "FIFA 98", Alphonse wraps twisted acid lines and outer-space chords around a hip-house breakbeat ("Direct Transient"), and Jamie Blanco gets intense with the help of a bunch of TB-303 acid lines and some suitably jacking drums. In other words, it's another killer collection of saucer-eyed assaults on the senses.

Groundhog Rave (5:51)
Stolen Baggage (6:24)
Spinach, Mystery & Insult (7:43)
Sticky Snails (2:13)
Review: Asad Rizvi's Silverlining return to form (and archive purge) continues unabated with this latest instalment on his label. The tech house originator kicks off this ninth part in the Silverlining Dubs series with a fresh production, the stripped back and highly technical "Groundhog Rave". It's followed up by an older jam originally released on Eukahouse back in 1997. "Stolen Baggage" is a sweet, poignant club track with lingering keys that positively melt between the snaking beats. "Spinach, Mystery & Insult" brings things back to the here and now with a shimmering set of drums and sonar bleep synths aimed squarely at the deep end. Brief diversion "Sticky Snails" completes the package with a surprise foray into kosmische-inspired territory, pointing to the diversity tucked away in this seasoned producer's repertoire.

Waiting (8:10)
Review: Fans of stripped-back, minimalist techno - particularly the Eastern European variant focused around Romania's thriving scene - will happily tell you that every release from Christi Cons and Vlad Caia's Sideways Invisibility Theory project (AKA SIT) is worth checking. This, a double-pack containing half of the tracks from their new album (a second part is also available) is certainly noteworthy. It features a quintet of trippy, low-slung late night workouts seemingly designed to operate in the cracks between tech-house and minimal techno. There are naturally subtle variations throughout - a nod to dub techno here, a psychedelic acid line or dreamy deep house texture there - but throughout, their focus remains firmly on wonky early morning workouts.

Apologias Del Futuro (6:46)
Ars Magma (6:15)
Fonky (6:51)
Abrazo De Oso (7:11)
Review: Just like the label's well-regarded debut last summer, this second salvo from Amorfo is a group effort. What Luis Malon, Bruno Di Paolo, Z@p, Digregorius and Guillermo Miranda collectively served up is impressive, with four varied cuts jostling for dancefloor domination. Our highlight is probably opener "Apologias Del Futuro", a pleasingly heavy and melodious fusion of bumpin' beats, heavy sub bass, Detroit Techno chords, wiggling acid lines and funk-fuelled synth solos. There's plenty to admire elsewhere across the EP too, from the deep, angular and intergalactic electro-acid swing of "Ars Magma", to the psychedelic electronics, rumbling analogue bass and off-kilter beats of "Abrazo De Oso".

Z@p - "Different Ways" (7:12)
Review: Since launching last year, the Opia label has yet to put a foot wrong, serving up two must-have 12" singles full of quality cuts from rising stars and scene stalwarts. The label's latest compilation style offering is equally as good. TC80 has the honour of kicking things off via the bubbly acid lines, stomping beats and gentle synth melodies of "Exile", before Abstract Tune joyously joins the dots between bleep techno and dreamy deep house on the rich positivity of "1996 Shoots". Audri's "Acid Rain" is a raw and intense jack-track, while Omar's "Techno Victims" a bustling, minor key electro box jam. Rounding things off is Z@p, whose excellent "Different Ways" sits somewhere between early Motor City Techno and 1990s British tech-house.

Akman's Rhythm (6:43)

A Moment To Breathe (7:09)
Review: Caldera has been previously spotted on WNCL Recordings amongst other establishments, so you know he comes with a certain stamp of quality for rough and tumble hi-jinx in the more interesting corners of proper party music. He lands on the blossoming Boogie Box label with a diverse package that leads in with the percussive trysts of "Akman's Rhythm" and then swerves into the fractured minimal dub exercise "Old Hands". "Anaconda Legs" is a twitchy, atmospheric slow strutting house cut that sits right with the offbeat minimal crowd but actually sports a rich and expressive sound and FX palette. "A Moment To Breathe" blows up the dub touches across the EP and goes into full head-nodding meditation mode, and it's fantastic.

Mount Sinai 4 (12:45)
Review: Also known as Damaskin or Nino, Seraphim Rytm has been rolling through the underground for some time, shoring up at labels like New York Haunted, Silent Season and Batti Batti. Now the shadowy entity drifts onto the equally shadowy Alpengluhen label with the subliminal throb of Mount Sinai, a four part rumination that will plunge you deep down into the depths of techno meditation. "Part 1" is a sumptuous affair that places the undulating bass front and centre for a long, entrancing ride, while "Part 2" weaves delicate chiming tones and subtle percussive ripples into the mix with ample reverb dripping over everything. "Part 3" is where things really space out with a high frequency wall of sound that has a coruscating effect, and then "Part 4" plunges right back into the depths with a low end pulse and distant dread pads that will leave a distinct chill in the room.

Review: For the second outing on their offshoot label, London's Art of Dark crew has handed over the reigns to Uruguayan artist Omar Chibbaro (best known for his outings on CABARET and My Own Jupiter) and Cartulis Music co-owner Unai Trotti. Chibbaro handles side A, first offering up the rubbery bleep techno/Drexciyan electro-funk fusion of "Zum" before slamming down the blackened beats, hypnotizing bleeps and twisted acid lines of "Adheuz". Over on side B, Trotti offers two tasty peak-time workouts: the snappy, bleeping retro-futurism of "Thisorden" and "Pirupipi", where deep space chords and angular electronics cluster around a weighty, forthright groove.

Reflector (6:22)
Rotate (6:28)
Review: Any new Robert Hood single is cause for celebration, but particularly when the release in question contains cuts as strong as this one. A-side "Reflector" is loopy and forthright, with Hood using swirling effects and subtle manipulations of a repetitive, big room-ready riff to increase intensity throughout. It's perhaps a little different from his usual heavy, stripped-back fare, but that's no bad thing. In contrast, flipside "Rotate" is classic Hood style minimalism, with warped acid lines, twisted bass and layered percussion creating a driving, mind-altering late night mood. There are slivers of melody, too, but these are sporadic and subdued in comparison to the rest of the Motor City's maestro's musical elements.

Review: REPRESS ALERT: Gravity Graffiti has been doing great things with its series of split 12"s already, but now the Italian label goes one better for its tenth release with this mighty double pack of heavy hitters. First up is the ever-untouchable Yoshinori Hayashi, who gets as straight up as he possibly could with the freaky house burner "Dissociative." Telephones is feeling particularly dubbed out and groovy on "Kalimbalimbo", while DB.Source and Riccardo Schiro take things strung out and textural on "Montevago". Dynamo Dreesen is in rave mode for the pepped up and delightfully weird "Reactivate", leaving the final side to Oyvind Morken & Kaman Leung's chugging "Tunnel Visjon" and the rubbery side swipes of Acidboychair's "The End (At Any Speed)".

Ango (Intrusion Metamorphose) (10:34)
Review: It's been five years since Echospace man Stephen Hitchell donned the Phase90 alias for "Infinitati", a suitably dark and dubbed-out debut album that remains one of his most mesmerizing releases. All these years on, he's decided to rework three of the album's most potent tracks under one of his other aliases, Intrusion. The heart of the EP is undoubtedly his A-side "Possession Dub" of "Vinci", a quiet, contemplative and effortless spacey dub techno revision that bubbles away for almost 16 minutes. He switches focus on the B-side opening "Remake" of "Infinitati", re-imagining the track as a cloudy and slowly pulsing ambient soundscape, before offering up a "Metamorphose" revision of "Ango" that's as deep and ambient as dub techno gets.

The Dawn Of Birds (7:44)
Camels In Desert Air (9:35)
Review: It was way back in 1995 when Darrin Fossella released "Egyptology Volume 1", his sole EP under the obscure Space Farm alias. The 12" has since become something of a sought-after cult classic, so it's little surprise to see Left Ear Records releasing a new version containing previously unheard "full length" versions of the EP's most celebrated tracks. First up is "The Dawn Of Birds", a wonderfully humid and percussive workout that sounds like it should be accompanying a tribal ritual on some far-off planet several million light years away. "Camels In Desert Air", meanwhile, may well be one of the finest hybrid techno and house cuts to come blessed with North African synthesizer melodies and drum machine-sized Fez. Impressive stuff, all told.

Review: The mysterious Wilson Phoenix returns with another batch of muscular techno joints that'll wipe the floor with any half-hearted 4/4 pretenders. Considering how sought after his earlier releases are, don't expect this to hang around for long. The beastly 909 kicks on "Dorphin" would slot in perfectly with Head Front Panel's own blown out take on peak time rabble rousing techno, while the kick-clap sync on "Dexed" will get fists a-shaking. It's not all blunt drums though - there's plenty of peppy colour splashed all over this record to make it stand out from the crowd. This ain't no monochrome chugging business!

His choices are universally inspired, from the spoken word loops of Genesis P-Orridge and ghostly, mind-altering dancefloor hum of Los Angeles Death Cult, to the lo-fi techno of Ron Morelli, the acid-fired intensity of Volvox and the dust-encrusted industrial throb of full-throttle cuts by JK Flesh and Alberich.
