2000 Dust (feat Low Density Matter & Ragga Twins) (5:22)
Street Wise (feat Ragga Twins) (5:06)
Review: Amen Ra, Double Helix, No Fixed Abode, Low Density Matter, Octaviour, Escobar Seasons, Solar Man and Lumin Project realign as LHF for their first release since their debut album on Keysound back in 2012. Featuring the distinct talents of jungle stalwarts Ragga Twins, this four track EP picks up on the numerical series that first announced LHF to the world back in 2011. The Ragga Twins vocals were not newly recorded however, instead unearthed "from an unlikely source dating back many years" with the Hackney jungle pioneers later granting LHF permission to use them. The resultant four tracks on From The Edge are as dark and rolling as they come with final cut "Street Wise" a standout.

Draw For The (5:52)
Baded (6:13)
Touch Down (4:25)
Review: Launched last year with some prime Alex Coulton business, the Mistry label overseen by Benny Beneath has in the space of a few releases become the go-to place for those who like their club music a little bit weirded out. Newcomer Laksa steps up for the fourth release, presumably taking his name from the noodles soup (a move we spice lovers wholeheartedly endorse), and the three tracks suggest he's well at home on Mistry. Up top title track "Draw For The..." shows off Laksa's dark side, with a cavernous rhythmic backbone subject to some devilish sub bass with the overall sound not too dissimilar to recent Hodge antics. The low slung "Baded" is a more muscular production, with a satisfyingly degraded feel which dovetails nicely with the crisper sound explored on "Touch Down".

Ruffian (4:13)
Ruffian (Bruce resynth) (4:52)
Bargain Jam (5:54)
Bargain Jam (Hodge remix) (6:21)
Review: Gramrcy has been a fixture on the Bristol house and techno scene for some time, earning his stripes with various club residencies whilst working on tracks at night. Here, he finally makes his debut as a producer, popping up on Berceuse Heroique's fledgling sister label Ancient Monarchy with the hardcore-influenced breakbeat techno assault of "Ruffian". The original - all throbbing sub, explosions and darting rave synths - gets remixed by Bruce, who turns it into a scratchy, hypnotic 4-to-the-floor weird-out. Flip for the sludgy oddness of "Bargain Jam", where ear-catching jazzy cymbals pepper an odd, undulating groove. Bristol pal Hodge remixes, dropping a seismic chunk of rolling techno with subtle, dub-wise riffs.

Novelist & Mumdance - "1 Sec" (Fabriclive VIP) (3:15)
Jefre Cantu Ledesma - "Track 2" (3:12)
Review: This is perhaps the one time you will see a chart grime smash sharing space on a 10" with Root Strata boss Jefre Cantu Ledesma and we have Mumdance and Fabric to thank for this! The former of course included both tracks featured here on his excellent Fabriclive mix for the London clubbing institution earlier this year and the chance to own them on vinyl should not be passed up. Mumdance's VIP fabriclive version of his Novelist hookup "1 Sec" brilliantly turns the track weightless whilst Jefre Cantu-Ledesma's "Untitled" sounds all the more mind boggling in isolation from the mix.

Get Down (5:04)
Mercedes Song (feat TD Snax) (5:37)
Menchess - "Mitsubishi Song" (6:05)
Sambuka Dance (4:20)
Review: A serious Goon Club adventure, DJ Lag's Rudeboyz collective lay down four tracks that live in their own universe but make total sense of everything that's going on in electronic music around the world; techy, bassy, spacey and bold - as Kode9 has proved, these cuts work well in almost any type of genre set. Highlights include the kick-less, ricochet-heavy danger riddim "Mitsubishi Song" and the staccato steppery of "Get Down". The ultimate dark Durban document.

Bulldoze (5:56)
LEAN (5:00)
Review: Having previously impressed with a trio of fine EPs and a similarly well-regarded album on Hyperdub some years back, Walton makes the move to Pinch's Tectonic imprint. He kicks things off with the grizzled, post-dubstep sparseness of "Wrench", all thunderous riddims, spooky electronics and spaced-out hits. There's an almost broken beat feel about the mangled grooves, pulsating sub and twittering melodies of "Flute Riddim", while the title track sees him go deep into heavyweight bass territory via drawn-out electronic textures, ragga vocal samples and bouncing beats. He closes proceedings with "L.E.A.N", a deeper, more ghostly trip full of crystalline electronics and spaced-out, half-step beats.

Helium (3:17)
Rigel 7 (3:14)
Jello (4:35)
Free Flight (feat Om Unit) (3:56)
Review: Munich badman Danny Scrilla returns to the label that introduced him to the world, Om Unit's Cosmic Bridge, with a fine 12". Hardly the most prolific of artists, Scrilla has committed just two Eps worth of material to wax since Cosmic Bridge issued his Flash Power 12" back in 2012 so the chance to assess where the German's sound is currently at is most welcome. A hefty four tracks feature on the True Sight EP, commencing with the epic synths and percolating textures of "Helium" which clearly takes its name from the high pitched vocals. "Rigel 7" meanwhile shows off Scrilla's quite wondrous talent for instrumentation, and "Jello" offers a line into more darkside atmospherics with some truly snappy percussion. Om Unit pops up on final cut "Free Flight" which skilfully blends in elements of dark sparse sounds, jungle, and left-field techno.

Review: Ross Birchard has been such an omnipresent figure on modern electronic music as Hudson Mohawke it seems strange to think Lanterns is only his second album. A lot has happened in the world of Hud Mo in the six 6 years since his Warp issued debut set Butter (hello Kanye) and the 14 track Lanterns comes across as a more compelling and adventurous album from the Scottish producer. Featuring some interesting guest appearances (Anthony Hegarty, Irfane, Miguel, Ruckazoid, Jhene Aiko) it's clear Lanterns is being presented as a chance for Birchard to reach the next level, and packs in a whole load of musical ideas along the way.

Maris Piper (5:24)
B More Dog (6:02)
Review:  Possibly our favourite musical ode to a potato variety to surface so far this year, Black Acre new man Tsunga comes correct with a quite brilliant two track label debut. First up "Maris Piper" throws a whole host of early hardcore staples into the mixer and comes out the other side with a rave burner that really displays Tsunga's talent for chopping up breaks with dizzying precision. "B More Dog" hits just as hard thanks to those pounding kick drums and shattering claps, and we imagine it sounds deadly on the dancefloor, especially when those degraded rave keys barge their way to the forefront. More please Tsunga.

Review: Issued digitally earlier this year, Lisbon's Principe do the right thing and grant Danger by the supremely talented Nidia Minaj the vinyl release it truly deserves. The Bordeaux-based Kuduro kid has delivered a document that's near-album level in its weight, content and creative consistency. Ranging from the dissonant drums and uncompromised groove of "Mambos Fudiz" to the cosmic techno of "Estudio Da Mana Na Casa" (imagine if UR came from Dakar instead of Detroit) by way of spasmodic synths and groove switches of "Puto Luri" and the head-melting time switches and industrial strength hoovers of "Limite", Nidia conjures a sound and technique that belies her teenage years. Genuinely unique.

Items Held & Dripped On (3:39)
Nichiren (3:50)
Review: Stark sounds from the Bristol bass hood, Kinlaw delivers his debut Ramp EP with a crystalline vibe that is like no other. With its fist-pump chants and Dead Prez bass, "New Palms" could be an instant riot if it was around 50BPM faster... Instead it's a refreshing subversion. "Bastet" takes the strange to new destinations as a bassline rises and falls over rusty chimes and a largely beatless groove. "Stevie Nicks" reminds us of Kinlaw's dreamier, whimsical side as heavily textured elements are laid atop of each other with woozy abandon. Deeper again we hit "Items Held & Dripped On" where rolling, clicking hi-hats and detail designed space shuttle FX create yet another strangely familiar but ultimately brave new world for us to explore.

Acre - "No Signal" (3:57)
Fis - "Branch Light" (3:15)
Review: Mumdance recently said he approached Fabric himself with the idea of doing a mix for their iconic long-running fabric live series and it's a good thing he did as his Fabriclive 80 was an eye-popping journey through experimental electronics, weightless club music and old hardcore favourites. The producer also managed to secure a ton of exclusives for the mix, two of which feature on this second and final 10" sampler. Up first is Mancunian bass heavyweight Acre whose " No Signal" sounds all the more hefty removed from its original context in Fabriclive 80, whilst New Zealand sonic explorer Fis is at his degraded best on the speaker shattering "Branch Light".

Review: Parisian sound conjurers Turnsteak step up with their debut album Digitale Pourpre. With a sterling reputation for smelting genres and smashing established ideas, their sound is one that resonates with all forms of broken beats, tech and bass music. As a result, the whole album switches and flickers between flavours; the rapid eastern take on new wave with "So Good For Me" the Hudmo-meets-AWE beat frenzy and synth splashes of "Woody Wood" and the sadboi moans and cries of "Wind Up" are just three examples of the duo's dexterity, creativity and, ultimately, musicianship. A very accomplished debut album.
