Based in Brooklyn, Discwoman affiliate Akua is a DJ who has gained recognition for her new school approach to blending old school magic from the realms of techno, hardcore, trance and beyond. She has an affinity for the freakish strains of ’90s Midwest and New York rave music and channels this inspiration into her unbridled and boundary pushing sets and mixes.
