Julian Alexander & Samuel Deep - "Breakdown"
Review: After the first collaboration on Samuel Deep's Native Tribe EP, these infamous jungle brothers decided to do a full EP together. When together they go by Ingi Visions and have a unique heavy underground sound made for dancefloor destruction. The "Get Slapped" EP features two solo tracks as well wich really represents their own styles. U can expect a lot more music from the brothers in the future.

Kime Ne (23:54)
Kime Ne (Ricardo Villalobos version 1) (16:34)
Kime Ne (Ricardo Villalobos version 2) (16:04)
Review: Using the Turkish psychedelic project Insanlar as a jump off point, Honest Jon's have enlisted Ricardo Villalobos to turn out one of his grandiose remix projects that gels so naturally with more exotic sound sources. The original of "Kime Ne" is already an enchanting, Moog-infused groover rich with traditional vocals, and then Mr Villalobos locks the ingredients in for a typically cosmic ride into stripped and hypnotic house territory, letting the lutes intertwine with dusty reams of percussion using that alchemists touch that could only come the man himself. The remix spreads itself over two sides of wax, leaving one side of the double pack free for a fetching etching as well.

Visio
Ruski
Review: After the adventures in Meditations from Thomas Melchior, Perlon's latest release of an impressive 2015 so far finds the label turn to a lesser known artist in Bihn. The production alias of Berlin based Germann Nguyen, BIHN emerged last year with a pair of low key 12"s as well as working with Onur Ozer as Treatment. What Nguyen lacks in profile he makes up for in punchy Perlon-worthy productions skills on the basis of his two tracks here with opener "Visio" a quite haunting cut where stripped back drum programming allows a neat bassline and detailed synth work to shine. Complementing this, it feels like "Ruski" is Nguyen letting his more urgent desires reign free and is likely to become a B side many selectors cherish.

Garden Of Buddha (6:48)
All Bun (8:06)
Traveling Soul (6:48)
Review: Switzerland's Alci first made his name on Phil Weeks' Robsoul a few years back, and he's come a long way since then, now landing on Dan Ghenacia, Shonky and Dyed Soundorom's Apollonia imprint, home to Chris Carrier, Premiesku, and even Kerri Chandler, of all people! The young Swiss house aficionado slams down three killer, itchy and teched-out groovers, with "Garden Of Buddha" kicking things off with a minimal edge and some naughty little sonics, to boot. The flipside sees "All Bun" scurry its intricate percussion swing around stripped-back melodies, whereas "Travelling Soul" adds in a little bit of flavor and a lot more funk thanks to its deep bassline and echoing sways of melody. Nice stuff.

African Man (Ricardo Vilalobos & Max Loderbauer remix) (12:12)
Go Back (feat Damon Albarn - Fort Romeau Absolut remix) (5:50)
Review: Tony Allen's most recent long player, Film Of Life, is revisited here with both Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer, and rising house producer Fort Romeau tasked with remixing the Nigerian drummer's work. Vilod, as they are preferring to be called these days, sit up top with a typically long form take on "African Man" which reconstitutes the blaring horn funk of Allen's original piece into a subtle 12 minute reduction of electronic house music. On the flip Ghostly artist Fort Romeau reimagines the Damon Albarn featuring "Go Back" as whispy, deep house with some charming analogue synth flourishes.

Review: Dutch minimal oddball Ion Ludwig is back, doing his thing on his third full length, his first in five years since Free K. Loudwiggle in 2010. It's any wonder, considering his enormous yearly output but he really comes through and delivers the goods on this rather cohesive and ultimately; quality effort. Starting things off with the strangely hypnotic "Date The Save" he soon gets down to business on the tough, rolling and druggy jams "Maternity Album Church" and "After Ysle" which will appeal to fans of the Romanian minimal sound. There's also some totally lush deep house music on offer too in the form of "Alpha Changes" and "Quattro Sur Lac".

Turntribal (4:32)
The Almighty (5:49)
Review: The mighty Schatrax label drops a reissue of a reissue, which was a reissue that we'd been keen to have back on our shelves for a while! If that all sounds a bit complicated, don't worry, we just mean to say that Josh Brent (label founder and purveyor of the Schatrax music) has decided to press a new edition of 2008's Vintage Vinyl 2 reissue. The tracks are all the same, of course, starting with the swinging and bumpy stride of "Restless Nights", followed by the dusty highs and deranged bleeps of "Turntribal" on the flip, and finally the woozy chimes of "The Almighty" as a final act. Green vinyl with hand-stamped Schatrax logo. Yes.

Medusa
Medusa (Don Williams remix)
Review: Always a man with his hand on the swing button, Stephen Brown knows a thing or two about funk in a techno world, but on this single for Technorama there's a distinctly house finish to the track. That's helped in no small part by the soulful vocal lick that runs through the middle of the track, even if the beats still bump with the roughness that he has made his name on. Don Williams ups the ante on his remix by slicing the remix up into fine slithers and fattening up the drums to make for a big room beast of the highest calibre.

Untitled (7:11)
Review: TI-REX is an electronic music label founded in Milan, Italy. The city is becoming more and more a cross of influences, thanks to the expansion in the art and entertainment panorama.
ti-rex gets its inspiration from the incredible underground music taste of Ricardo Villalobos, Perlon and the Romanian scene.
The first release wants be a presentation of the project with the objective to propose quality music in this context; it draws inspiration from the traditional Brasilian Manha de Carnaval chant from the Orfeu Negro soundtrack of legendary Gilberto Gill, performed by Elizeth Cardoso in 1959. A second release will follow soon. Enjoy.

Review: Ivan Smagghe's Les Disques De La Mort label has thrown up plenty of excellent music for the jobbing selectors in the 12 months since it launched, with all manner of classy talent contributing either original material or remixes. This latest platter introduces a new project from Paranoid London vocalist Mutado Pintado called Sworn Virgins and the two original tracks are augmented by some excellent remixes. Opening cut "Michelle (Dub)" fizzes brilliantly with unpredictable synthetic energy and is the sort of track you unleash deep into the night to send a crowd down the wormhole, whilst "Lazy Boy" is the best Hieroglyphic Being remix Liasions Dangereuses you've never heard. The accompanying remix from Fabrizio Mammarella reigns in some of the madness for a more focused club cut, whilst the superb Acid Arab do their thing to "Michelle", completely rewiring the track's DNA. A superb 12"!

Entitled Chapter 1, this double vinyl release features eight new artists whose productions still fall under the banner of spirituality that seems integral to The Untold Series. Very much an international collection, South American Furz commences proceedings with the Latinised minimalist "420error" and from here Chapter 1 runs the gamut of minimal techno with particular highlights coming from Andrey Zots and exercise in broken techno abstraction, Pheek's playful "Interne", and the Villalobos-esque "Regarde Le Ciel" from Suburbs. Enzo Siragusa - "Desire" (8:09)
Alexkid - "Wear Your Cape" (6:23)
Review: Fuse London still carries a flame for classic, mid noughties minimal. Who doesn't fondly remember the reductionist grooves of m_nus or Tuning Spork? What about the original secretsundaze or mulletover shindigs? Oh well, it's those nostalgics that Enzo Siragusa caters to, and does a fine job at that. The man himself appears first, with the tripped out and paranoid afterhours shuffle of "Desire", complete with creepy pitch shifted vocals; most likely elaborating on the experience of being in a sweaty, loud, windowless basement for way too long.. way into the afternoon! On the flip "Wear Your Cape" by Frenchman Alexkid gets a groove on that's a bit more upfront and uptempo, complimented by a sinister sub bass and random zaps and whirs.. hey, it's minimal! What more can we say: less is more.

Both a new production moniker and label, Doublet will act as a platform for the pair to channel their own music. Tomoki and his Holic Trax label have long been serving up solid house music whilst Tuccillo has conjured up numerous chart toppers on labels like 2020Vision, Visionquest and Holic Trax. The debut Doublet release takes shape as 202, a three track 12" that blends elements of classic house with future minimalism with the results undoubtedly stylish.

This vinyl edition offers the best of both worlds really, featuring some 17 highlights of Kozalla's selection in their original form spread across two slabs of vinyl whilst !K7 have also thrown in a CD copy of the mix so you can hear how it's all done Koze-style. Inhuman (8:21)
Another One Of Those Nights (5:23)
Hot Tea Dog Man (7:21)
Review: Canada's Colin De La Plante aka The Mole has been an important part of electronic dance music since the early noughties. The man has appeared on countless influential during the electro and minimal house periods including Mathew Jonson's Wagon Repair, Germany's Kompakt stable and more recently even on the Ostgut Ton imprint out of Berlin. More recently, however, he's been popping up frequently on Slices Of Life, a contained hub for like-minded club music nutters. "Inhuman" is a stepping house-techno hybrid with supremely odd melodies floating in the background and one hell of a percussion swing. On the B-side, "Another One Of Those Nights" is deeper and more intricate much like the rest of The Mole's output, and "Hot Tea Dog Man" showcases what the dude is best at - minimal melodies, complex beat patters and that right level of insanity. Class.

Then tracks by Vlad Caia and Kaitaro complete the first record. The second record, Chapter IV, begins with a warm and laid-back work by Ivan Lopez, followed by a distinct Andrey Zots remix. The final side, begins with a track both playful and eccentric by Zefzeed, and the chapter is complete with an ethereal lightness from Verrina & Ventura. So as a collection, 3 darker moodier tracks on the black Chapter III record, and four lighter tracks on the transparent yellow record of Chapter IV, make for another exciting release from The Untold Stories.

Changes (feat Beckford) (6:09)
Changes (Kris Wadsworth Puberty remix - Vinyl Only) (6:56)
Changes (Deadbeat remix) (6:45)
Review: Riding high on the success of a second release that introduced A-Scott & Chad to the Constant Sound fold, the third instalment finds Burnski back in the saddle to offer up "Changes", getting into a more techno-oriented frame of mind without losing that warmth and playful sensibility he has made his own over the years.
After strong remixes from Trus'me, Steve O'Sullivan and Cab Drivers on previous releases, Constant Sound 003 gives another opportunity for the label to call upon the finest in the business to reinterpret the original material.
In keeping with the heads-down workout tones of Burnski's original, it makes perfect sense to invite an artist as accomplished as Deadbeat up for a remix. Scott Monteith has long been a stellar example of how to push dub techno in thrilling new directions and it shows on his version of "Changes".
Kris Wadsworth has just as much to say for himself after years spent crafting heavyweight house and techno with a mercenary instinct matched by lashings of machine soul. He reduces the original track into a stripped down techno dub perfect for late at night. His remix will only be available on the vinyl.
It's yet another step forwards for a label committed to delivering nothing but the highest quality house and techno for those who seek a touch more depth from their music.

"Movin (Edit)" may have a dubbed out flavour to it, but it's still a peak time belter with a smooth hip-house vocal flow atop of loose and limber breakbeats and a satisfyingly punchy bassline. "Backed Up" may take things deeper with some intricate drum machine patterns and soulful keys, but it's still a neat time machine back to the good old days of early house music.

Review: At the time of its original release back in 2007, Simon Baker's "Plastik" was something of an underground hit, a undoubtedly simplistic but effective club track that made it's way into many a DJs record boxes. Later picked up by Playhouse, the Frankfurt institution took the strange but very effective decision to commission Mr Todd Terje to remix the track, with the resultant Turkatech Mix still one of the Norwegian's finest efforts. However the original and redefining remix have never appeared together on wax so props to Kompakt for this new edition which includes both plus a new 2014 version from Mr Baker.
