Butt-Head (8:00)
People That Make The Music (8:23)
Thinking Of You (4:56)
Review: The inimitable Matthew Herbert presents some much needed reissues from the Phono back catalogue's 'Parts' series here, on Accidental's third volume of remastered classics. The series was part of an early wave of exploratory dance music, that paved the way for a style of deep house that still works its magic on dancefloors some 25 years later. Featuring the reduced boompty-funk of "Butt-Head" or "Thinking Of You" which will no doubt appeal to the new generation of minimal heads, to moments of sublime and evocative deepness as heard on "People That Make The Music" which is up there with other such classics like "See You On Monday" and many others featured in upcoming editions.

Nebulosa
Asteroides
O-Type
Review: Brazilian producer Apoena has been steadily issuing serious heaters for labels like Underground Quality and Stuga Musik since 2010, but the core of his output can be found on his own Allnite Music label. The Nebulosa EP features more of the immersive, shimmering tech house tones he's built his name on thus far, leading in with the swirling wonderment of the title track before swerving on the B side into the more punchy, deliciously dubbed out "Asteroides." Bringing the most overtly house-oriented sounds on the record, "O-Type" signs off on a weighty, head-nodding groove carefully crafted for eyes-closed transcendence, whether you're rocking the jam in your headphones or on the floor.

Do Wattcha Feeel
Mixed Moods
Midnight Insp
Aritmethixx
Review: PURISM welcomes Romanian minimal house titan Mihai Popescu to the table, following the promising producer's run of hotly tipped singles on his own Soulsity label. The groove is crisp and infectious on opening cut "Do Watcha Feeel," which makes great use of a looped up melodic phrase and choice vocal snippets for a quintessential house throwdown. "Mixed Moods" is no less floor-ready, but its delicate, shimmering keys add a seductive quality that's impossible to resist. "Midnight Insp" takes a heads-down, tracky approach on its run in, but by the latter half opens up to reveal a gorgeous, swirling bath of chords. "Aritmethixx" provides contrast for the EP's closer, keeping the beat stripped back and using haunting flecks of sonic decoration that wouldn't sound out of place on a Horror Inc track.

Offaiah - "Work It Out" (club mix) (6:19)
Josh Butler - "Feels Good" (feat Hanlei - extended mix) (7:02)
David Penn - "Nobody" (club mix) (6:54)
Review: Defected once again have the main room at peak time in mind - with these four scorchers aimed squarely at said dancefloors. From current scene favourites Camelphat: the masked crusaders teaming up with the man with the golden voice Ali Love, on the adrenalised "Dopamine Machine" (club mix), Argentinian producer Offaiah rounds up the A side with the deep and sexy bounce of "Work It Out" (club mix). On the flip, Northern tech house hero Josh Butler shows he can do vocal house too on the very Kerri Chandler influenced "Feels Good" (feat Hanlei - extended mix) while Spanish veteran David Penn does for that classic Defected style of funky house on the uplifting "Nobody" (club mix).

Yoga (feat Ahu)
Sanyasi
Mir (feat Ahu)
Review: The Shahr Farang crew seem to be on a roll at present. Label staple Lenta maintains his position on the quiet, reflective extreme of 4/4 music, unfurling the kind of delicate minimalism and ambient that merely hints at any connection to club traditions. Long may it continue, when the quality is this high - the Pole-esque ripples of "Yoga" click and pop through gorgeous layers of melancholic melody delivered with a delicate touch, while "Sanyasi" tumbles through forlorn guitar and looming sub bass frequencies. Each piece is distinct from the others, and indeed anything else being released at present, making this record highly recommended for all intrepid sonic wayfarers.

Review: Jennifer Cardini rounds up the best in modern indie dance in one compilation on her always reliable Correspondant imprint. All the usual suspects appear, as well as some fresh debutants. Israeli duo Red Axes are on form as always on the cosmic exotic vibe of "Disco Arp", while homeboy Moscoman delivers some tripped-out tunnel vision on"Wakalaka Beach". Elsewhere, British synth magician Black Merlin provides the chilling ambient soundscape of "Sub Conscious", Moscow's Simple Symmetry handed in one of the highlights in the form of their noir synthpop epic "Suspiria" and Black Spuma's Fabrizio Mammarella delivers the neon-lit modern Italo antics of "Diavoli".

Review: The Drifted Flow label made an early move in 2015 with a release from Tommy Vicari Jnr, but now returns with an entirely different premise - an eight-track double pack of fresh, invigorating minimal house jams from lesser-known and adventurous producers. Henry Hyde gets the collection off to a strong start with the wobbly funk of "Perchin," all dirty bass wobble and loose swinging rhythms. Elsewhere Martinez flirts with the crooked thump of electro, Alicia Hush wriggles through an abstraction of garage and Bilal channels a little of the Boogizm magic you might expect from S-Max or Fym. Overall, it's a release loaded with personality and flair for minimal spinners wanting some spicier ingredients for their mix.

Review: Dial label boss Lawrence presents his eighth LP on the Hamburg based imprint which he runs with Carsten Jost. Across nine tracks, the Illusion LP combines field recordings and acoustic instruments, merging with his idiosyncratic and understated style. Things get off to a great start on the sleek and sensual bounce of "Treasure Box", while "Yu Yu" or the title track are exactly the type of etheral deep house you've come to know and love from the man. Towards the end, the Berlin based producer even serves up his version of electro on the bold groove of "Transitions" and "Crystal" ends the wonderful album on a sublime ambient vibe. Another terrific offering from Peter Kersten.

Rara (Swoy remix) (6:59)
Review: Mancini's Bang Bang EP earlier this year had us impressed. The veteran Parisian producer and DJ now returns with a bunch of wicked remixes from his recent discography - and he's honed in the finest local talents to help get the job done right. First up is Joule chief Janeret, who delivers a dubby and hypnotic rendition of "Slap" that's fuelled by some powerful 303 attitude. Ibiza's Michael James (Constant Sound/Mulen Records) gets into deeper and swing-fuelled territory that's perfectly suited to the afterhours on his version of "Just Music" and finally on the flip we have got Swoy (Politics Of Dancing/Djebali) with the some sublime minimal boompty business displayed finely on his rework of "Rara".

Review: 'Grooving fragments of imagination, automatically written on wax' Automatic writing is a record label founded in Paris in 2016 by Darween, Jacan and Nico Dee. Their first various artists EP gathers the core members that contributed to the imprint's discography so far. On the A side we have got Charonne with the old school bump and shuffle of "Saule Moqueur" followed by Murphie Cooper delivering some reductionist mini-funk on the infectious "Speak Twins". On the flip is none other than hometown hero Seuil of Eklo Records, who delivers some absolutely neon-lit electro-funk on "974 Tool".

GV Bleu - "Alec With A Tiny Hand" (6:15)
Review: This is something of a statement from new German label OFFFM. Not content with slipping out a simple EP, they've decided to set their stall out via an expansive, double-vinyl compilation of tried and tested club tracks. There's much to enjoy throughout, from the darting synth bass and spacey electronics of R10's "Banana D" and Oolon's similarly inclined tech-house throb-job "Double Vision", to the deep and undulating electro of BB and the rolling dreaminess of GV Bleu's squelchy "Alec With a Tiny Hand". Those looking for darker and more clandestine fare should check the dark, twisted and intoxicating electro of 386i's "Moderner Saund" or Sir Benni Steil's breakbeat-driven "Jesus Hat Zeit", which doffs a cap to early UK techno productions.

Sea Of Hands (6:34)

The Girls Thing (8:29)
Review: Over the course of his 15-year career, Bruno Pronsato has proved adept at combining otherworldly, minimalist rhythms with looser, more organic musical elements. He's at it again here on this Perlon outing, proving that sparse minimal techno can still feel warm and human. This is particularly evident on opener "Sea of Hands", where Pronsato's evocative, soft-touch vocal rise above chiming synthesizer notes and an off-kilter, snare-heavy beat. There's an even more organic feel to "Outro", where warm bass guitar notes and synthesized steel drum sounds come accompanied by little more than claps and cymbals. The most dancefloor-focused cut of the lot is B-side "The Girls Thing", a typically deep, sparse and bass-heavy minimal techno roller blessed with intricate percussion programming and Villalobos levels of wonkiness.

Bibo (7:50)
Party House (6:07)
Smell Flahsback (7:17)
Review: Roman Flugel seems to have been in a nostalgic mood of late. He recently released a superb retrospective of his early '90s Acid Jesus work alongside Alter Ego partner Jorn Elling Wuttke and now offers up an EP of previously unreleased solo productions from 1995. All three cuts are enthralling and on-point, making us wonder why they were never put out at the time. Many DJs will naturally be drawn towards A-side "Bibo", a warm, bass-heavy and fluid club roller that sits somewhere between early UK bleep techno, US deep house and the sci-fi inspired techno of Detroit. Elsewhere, "Partyhouse" wraps deep, Motor City-influenced electronic motifs around snappy, Chicago-style drums and a bustling bassline, while closer "Smell Flashback" is a jaunty trip into melodious techno-funk territory with added jammed-out organ sounds.

Moment (Losoul remix) (11:19)
Review: Under his longstanding DJ Honesty alias, veteran producer Hans Schaaf has delivered some fantastic music over the past two decades. Happily, he appears to be getting more productive as the years roll by, with this three-tracker on Bass Culture marking his third 12" of 2017. With its bustling bassline, relentless cymbals, Motor City motifs and carefully placed dub effects, lead cut "Moment" sits somewhere between hypnotic European techno and ocean-deep house. This hybrid vibe is even more noticeable on Losoul's epic flipside remix, which subtly toughens up the track and stretches it out to 11 mesmerizing minutes. Further thrills are provided via bonus cut "Gamma", a more bumpin' deep house roller with heavy New Jersey influences.

Review: Making a surprising addition to German minimal imprint Pleasure Zone is Midlands tech house hero Subb-An. To be fair, this isn't the first time that the now Berlin based producer has flirted with the underground, having released on labels like Cabinet, Fuse London and Blind Box Series in recent years - after having made his name on top imprints like Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest. The Another Time EP sees him deliver some reduced and dubbed-out shenanigans for the afterhours: from the minimal boompty business of the title track on the A side, while on the flip "Overdrive" hears him pump it harder in hypnotic fashion and the dub version which injects it with more dancefloor dynamics.

Warg (7:04)
Review: The master of dark journey tracks known as Recondite returns, this time for Scuba's esteemed Hotflush imprint. The sombre and doomy vibes of the title track are a bit more restrained than Lorenz Brunner's usual tracks but just as foreboding with those now trademark 'wonky' melodies which truly work a treat. "Warg" on the flip has a bit more momentum and definitely more elements incorporated into its sound. It's funky, in a brooding way of course; with another epic melody for some seriously dramatic dancefloor moments that he's known for.
