Review: We are proud to present another debut on Axces Records, this time from label head Alfredo92. The A side kicks off with Mimis, an explorative bass driven track with crisp snares and bubbling synthesizers. Next up is the title track Helfand, whose experimental sounds and textures take things in a mystic IDM like direction. On the B side we Adax_pcp, a hypnotic club cut which further explores complex pulsating outernational rhythms. Finally to seal the deal we have Scalex, a twisted dancehall tune with splashes of futuristic sound design.

  3. Spook In The House - "Conspiracy"
Review: After a busy Summer on the road, South London's Silverlining returns to his home-grown imprint for the tenth release on his cult series. The EP opens with his sublime 2019 remix of Arctor and Jay Hill, previously unrleased on vinyl. On the flip are two reissues: the first of his 1998 remix of Ravi McArthur from Reverberations; and a Detroit-inspired electro track written at the tender age of 19 back in 1995 under his early Spook in the House guise.

Review: The return of the EXTERESTRIAL TIME TRAVELERS Aux88, has returned with an all new double LP, Counterparts. Unforgettable bass lines and vocals that make everyone run to the dance floor and ascend to the DJ booth for confirmation of, "who is this?" Side A - starts with the track "INTEL." The string work and Kraftwerkian tone is evident with this gem. Aux88 takes it even further with a message to the electro haters, "You Don't Want None of This! Side B - "Moon Walker" simply put...that Bass Line...wow! As only Aux88 and a few others can do it ... Detroit styled Parliament Funkadelic funky. Side C - gives homage to the Detroit jitters with the track "Pothole Paradise." It's fast funky and not for messing around. As Mike Banks said in the Aux88 documentary interview, "when DJ's drop Aux88 shit, it's time to dance and shake that ass!" Pothole Paradise is exactly that type of track....Detroit Proud. The culmination of all original 4 members returning for a new flight from the Aux quadrant to invade the world. The Double LP gives you electro/techno funk from Detroit Legends Blak Tony, K-1, Posatronix & Tom Tom.

  1. Flutta
  2. Rashaba
  3. Runnin'
  4. Narroways
Review: The latest drop on Constant Sound's electro branch, Infiltrate, comes from wild-card Bristolian chameleon Borai. When he's not dropping tuff, jungle-hewed rave wreckers for Hotline and Higher Level he's collaborating with October on refined house bumpers or dread-filled noise excursions in Spiritflesh. As if that wasn't enough, here he is turning his hand to genuinely fresh twists on the electro formula - a breath of fresh air in a crowded marketplace. "Flutta" keeps things snappy and decidedly pacey, but the overall mood is really quite light, while on "Rashaba" things get much darker, to an almost theatrical degree. Some of that breakbeat ruffness sneaks in on "Runnin" and then a little garage swing offsets the dubbed out showers of melody and cheeky rave stabs on EP closer "Narroways". Stunning stuff.

Review: We are proud to release 'Fortunate Isolation' the sophomore album from Borusiade. Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started DJ-ing in 2002 as one of the very few female DJs in the city's emerging alternative clubbing scene. Influenced by a classical musical education, a bachelor in film direction and fascinated by raw electronic sounds, Borusiade first combined these universes in the construction of her DJ sets and starting 2005 also in her music production. A sound of her own has slowly crystallized, often dark with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic. She has released EPs on labels like Pinkman, Unterton, Cititrax, Correspondant and Comeme, who released her debut album 'A Body' in 2018. 'Fortunate Isolation' is perhaps Borusiade's most personal release to date.

Review: Texas-based electro stalwart Cygnus first appeared on Craigie Knowes back in 2018 via a contribution to the Scottish label's third annual "War Child Fundraiser" release. Here he returns to the imprint for a label debut proper that also marks the prolific producer's first outing of 2020. There's much to enjoy amongst the five tracks, from the rumbling bass, 1990 style bleeps and gentle electro beats of "Ebony Starlight", to the sludgy experimental analogue wonkiness of "Metroid C64" and the bustling sci-fi funk of "Votoms". Arguably best of all though is "Connection Error", a delightfully positive, melodious and emotive club electro jam that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

  3. He Told Me Bullshit (Arno & He Was Right remix)
Review: Half Baked have had a strong year with releases from Sakro, Shonky, John Dimas, and SIT, but now they present something a little more mysterious from db jam. While the name may be unfamiliar, you get the impression this is an inside job from the Half Baked family, and the sound certainly fits right in on the label. The A side track, "I Met A Leprechaun In A Russian Forest" locks down one of those impossibly smooth house grooves Half Baked's identity is built on, and then drapes that groove in the finest silken pad sounds. What makes the track stand out is the playful cuts and samples pinging around in the mix, adding to the jam notion of the record. "He Told Me Bullshit" occupies the same sound world but heads in a slightly darker direction, which Arno then refigures into a shivering broken techno refrain suited to more spaced out moments in the cut and thrust of the party.

Review: The incredible DeFeKT (aka Matthew Flanagan) has been a tireless advocate of true electro and techno over the last number of years, steadily honing his hardware based sound that has earned him admirers all through the electronic music community. DeFeKT released a 8 track mini album in 2010 which gained great support from Dave Clarke. Since then a slew of 12" Eps and remix's have emerged under the DeFeKT and ESS guise on labels like Combat recordings, Solar One Music, AC Records, Cultivated electronics, shameless toady, Signal Code,Komisch and Electronic Explorations to name a few. His eager abuse of analog drum machines and modular synths is a breath of fresh air in today's laptop dominated scene... this is his debut release on Orsonl with his wonderful electronic delights. If you know your electronics then you'll know DeFeKT.

Review: Carl Finlow returns with a double vinyl 8 track album, following a prolific run of singles for Lone Romantic, Electrix, Craigie Knowes and Orson. Apparatus is a forward thinking album that reflects Finlow's return to live touring with many tracks hitting harder and darker, pushing his electro sound into new directions and soundscapes. Flawless production is something we have come to expect from Mr.Finlow yet he has managed to raise his game yet again with Apparatus. The album means business from the start, kicking off with the title track, 'Apparatus', a no-nonsense assault on the system with fast tight drum programming, heavily vocoded vocals and powerful synths. The pace continues on the record with 'Bind' and 'Carbon Deposits', Structure' but there are also pure electro cuts like 'Differential' and moody grooves in 'Ampere' and 'Viroids'.
Finlow has been on a staggering run of form and Apparatus continues this remarkable purple patch with a new lease of electro energy. It's not surprising that every credible electronic master on the planet from Weatherall and Craig Richards to Dixon and Maceo Plex are all fans of his work.

Review: The 6th release on BLKMARKET MUSIC is a new collaboration between electro producer Gosub and label head Taimur. On the A side, Gosub & Taimur go techno with two versions of their track 'THE CONTROLLER.' The A1 is a deeper 135bpm version that takes you into outer orbit. The A2 'THE CONTROLLER (DARK PATH MIX)' focuses on a faster 145bpm darker and more tripped out version of A1. The B side focuses on the after-hours side of things. On B1 they kick things off with 'SAFE,' an electro track that turns into a druggy four on the floor tune, with haunting vocals that chant 'You think you're safe.' On B2 their track 'PHI' is more on the techier side of things. Concepts powered by dusty machines. Made in Florida.

Review: Changes, always changes! That is the path than an artist travels in his musical career. But road always as a goal. And Jesus Gonsev gives us one of them in his first album as an artist. Eight tracks for enjoy this long tour and see his influences on it. An album where different styles are played, Deep House, Breaks, Electro, Techno. But harmoniously converge with that characteristic Gonsev's touch. Now is the time to start this journey by placing the needle on the vinyl. Do you want to change your life? A new life...

Review: After the release on Helena Hauff's label Return To Disorder earlier this year, the Hamburg based producer turns to Eye For An Eye to release his awaited EP "Zerstore Eine Stadt". A well crafted piece divided in 5 different moments that portrait the mind state of L.F.T. living in an industrial city with mechanical and optimized routines. Sharing the A side is the punchy and muscular "Alles Was Du Hasst "and "Atomic Enigma", the last an introspective and misterious slow tempo ebm-ish piece. "Zersto?re Eine Stadt" featuring vocals from Rosaceae is an emotive piece expressed through distortion pedals, revealing the poetic side of rage and trauma. "I Don't Like Your Party" plays around a playfully sinister melody and charmingly offbeat vocals that give this track a unique groove. "Dead Rat Under The Table" cools the whole EP down, ending it as intense and mesmerazing as it started.

Review: Constant Sound's electro arm, Infiltrate, calls upon the considerable talents and technical heft of London Modular Alliance for a bruising EP of body-popping exploration strapped to a tough n' funky beatdown. "Crack Fox" is as nervy and nimble as the title might suggest, while "Regular Customer" takes things in a hyper-detailed direction compatible with the kind of advanced machine funk you expect from Silicon Scally. "Blinky" follows suit with another artfully woven web of twitchy synth hooks and deftly sequenced drums, and then "Other Worlds" switches things up with some seriously hefty bass pressure pivoting around a dubstep attitude towards space and moodiness.
