Cat: MPX 002. Rel: 16 Mar 20
  1. No Drama
  2. No Drama (Mor Elian remix)
  3. Loose Fit
  4. Hand Of Eris
MPX 2 features 3 cuts of blisteringly linear, apocalyptic techno from A Saggitariun, fresh from the release of his recent album on Running Back.
The record also features a remix from Mor Elian (Fever AM, HyperColour) who reimagines "No Drama" as an almost sub-aquatic dub-excursion.

MPX is both a new vinyl only label from Man Power that explores raw forms of Techno, as well as also being an alias for the producers own occasional technoid excursions.

  1. Mimis
  2. Helfand
  3. Adax_PCP
  4. Scalex
Review: We are proud to present another debut on Axces Records, this time from label head Alfredo92. The A side kicks off with Mimis, an explorative bass driven track with crisp snares and bubbling synthesizers. Next up is the title track Helfand, whose experimental sounds and textures take things in a mystic IDM like direction. On the B side we Adax_pcp, a hypnotic club cut which further explores complex pulsating outernational rhythms. Finally to seal the deal we have Scalex, a twisted dancehall tune with splashes of futuristic sound design.

Review: BEEYOU Records are back with 4 outrageously groovy tracks perfect for all your dance floor needs. First up on the A1 is Julian Anthony with a 90s Tech House inspired banger. Rossi. has full control of the A2 with his signature groovy basslines that keep you dancing all night. Azire who is one half of Xhz shows us what's real with a hypnotic roller, and Xhz are back with another beautiful track full of sexy french vocals and dreamy pads.

  2. Ravi McArthur - "Here & Now" (Silverlining remix)
  3. Spook In The House - "Conspiracy"
Review: After a busy Summer on the road, South London's Silverlining returns to his home-grown imprint for the tenth release on his cult series. The EP opens with his sublime 2019 remix of Arctor and Jay Hill, previously unrleased on vinyl. On the flip are two reissues: the first of his 1998 remix of Ravi McArthur from Reverberations; and a Detroit-inspired electro track written at the tender age of 19 back in 1995 under his early Spook in the House guise.

Review: Seminal reissue alert! Baby Ford had already been a chart-baiting acid house superstar by the time he launched the PAL SL label in 1996. He'd left behind the major label scene and moved firmly back into the underground with exploratory techno releases on Ifach and collaborations with Mark Broom. This new label marked a shift for Ford though, setting him up for the trips into minimalist club tracks that have been his bread and butter for decades now. From the machine soul trysts of "Slow Hand" to the woozy techno thrust of "Tall For His Height" and the atmospheric house wriggle of "Kez", this release is a classic through and through. Beat the sharks and nab a copy of this long out-of-print gem.

  1. Formulate
  2. No 800
  3. Exteria
Review: The funking, bumping sound of Aesthetic continues to bolster the impact of parent label Constant Sound, bringing a more colourful palette to realm of minimal tech house. The latest Aesthetic release comes from emergent talents Josh Baker & Alfa, working in collaboration to summon up some sprightly grooves to put a spring in your step. "Formulate" is especially bouncy, not least thanks to those nimble synth lines, while "No 800" takes things in a tougher direction without losing that groovy swing and rich sense of melody. "Exteria" completes the set with a particularly funky concoction that heads towards the deeper end of the night.

Traffic Jam
Cat: DCH 002. Rel: 27 Mar 20
  1. Traffic Jam
  2. Bus Stop
Review: Matthew "Bushwacka!" B may not be as high profile a producer as he once was, but it's worth remembering that he was once one of the leading lights of both the early UK tech-house movement and the recently revived breakbeat house sound. The two tracks featured here touch on both styles in a roundabout way, and were first released way back in 1997. "Traffic Jam" is an insatiable, funk-fuelled peak-time workout that sees the London scene mainstay pepper a vintage, electro-influenced breakbeat house groove with UK garage style bass, fizzing scratch sounds, warm deep house chords and selected vocal samples. "Bus Stop" meanwhile is jaunty and melodious, with chiming, ear-pleasing riffs riding crunchy house drums and the kind of booming bassline that was all the rage in London at the time of recording.

  1. If You Don't Dance (feat Marc)
  2. Free Roaming
  3. Hellraiser (BDB)
  4. Monkey See
Review: It is truly a family affair over at 7 Days Entertainment. Butterbandz, the youngest son of 7 Days Entertainment label head Big Strick, gives us his debut EP titled Legacy. This freshman EP of the youngest of the Strickland clan is nothing short of what you would expect from a family member deeply rooted in dance music from Detroit. The first song off of the EP is a vocal track from BBZ with help from the artist Marc, who is a rising vocal talent from Detroit associated with the 7 Days imprint. If You Don't Dance is slated to be an anthem among the scene for years to come. It evokes you to get out there and move your body. It brings the energy from start to finish with excited high hats, a grumpy bass and an admirable synth pattern. Things slow down for a more relaxed groove on Free Roaming, a laid back chiller with a smooth synth and a mellow bass of pure delight. Its reverbed synths take you on a never-ending journey through your own mind. Hellraiser is a straight high-octane pure adrenaline rush. It has the soul of true Detroit techno. The unforgiving drum and percussion pattern shines brightly over an acid bass line and catchy synth keys. The last song on the debut EP, Monkey See, closes the project out with a bang. An offset drum knocks on top of an offset synth and warm pianos. The flute is complementary and the percussion ties it all together nicely. Butterbandz shows unparalleled promise for more top-notch projects in the future.

Cat: NS 004.
  1. The Heat (Wille Dynamite editon)
  2. El Prevost (remix)
  3. Ben Sims (remix)
  4. Peter Rocket (remix)
Review: Mike 'Agent X' Clark is a true hero of the Detroit scene, but he rarely gets the props he deserves, making any outing of his a cause for celebration. El Prevost's No Speakers label knows what's up, and they've drafted in Clark for his killer jam "The Heat." The name is no foil, this track will set any party ablaze with its distinctive speech sample and saucy rhythm section. Alongside the original, there is a strong cast of remixers on hand to serve up deadly variations, from the label boss' skipping, psyched-out groover to Ben Sims' appropriately thumping techno workout. Peter Rocket especially impresses with a crafty breaks version that should slot in nicely with the resurgent electro scene.
