Review: Woah, we didn't see this coming; Ajunabeats, the UK trance imprint founded in 2000 by Above & Beyond types Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki, release a pair of remixes that touch on dubstep and future garage. The label boss's "Sun & Moon" is given some sub bass growl and menace by Distance on the A, while Seiji pops up with a garage-y interpretation on the flip that retains the straight up trance synths and chipmunk vocals!

Review: Slovenian dubstep dons DubDiggerz curate the new collection for their "Chapter" series with this quartet of glorious gloom. CLZ returns to the label with "Haunt", a sludgy number that sucks you in like sinking sand. It's followed by a killer VIP of "Watch Yah Steppa" where a spicy little sample is added to the mix for extra hype. Flip for "Madness" as DubDiggerz bring Rawland into the fold with a tense workout that's prone to sudden textural twists and boasts stacks of space between the percussion. Finally Flo & Gisaza close the EP with a moody marching piece that rumbles ominously building up to big waves of eastern mysticism. Depend on DeepEnd.

Enigma Dubz gets real with an obscene oscillator that rumbles heavily in a way that wouldn't have gone amiss on Immerse 10 years ago, Lost take us deep into the woods on a sledge of toxic bass slurry while Bukez Finezt lets loose in the freestyle way only he knows how. Elsewhere Requake spook us out with a sparse design and croaked-out bass textures while Artroniks wraps up on an iced-out sci-fi tip. Duploc know a dark groove when they hear one. Here's to five more years.

Review: MC of the moment Rider Shafique takes a trip down Egyptian Avenue, barging down the doors of the one and only Epoch. The result is a Blacklisted banger of toxic proportions. With a freeform low end creeping under the radar, there's stacks of space for Rider to really get into his flow before momentum picks up in the third minute. Flip for a stuttering, tripped out ghetto twist on "Dust" from Artillery and lock down every aerial in a 20 mile radius.

Review: Ireland isn't the first place you'd think of when it comes to sturdy soundsystem dub flavours, but Cian Finn is quickly changing this perception with some deep, driving conscious mic craft. It's clear his years as front man for Irish festival faves Intinn have paid off as we're treated to a series of versions, each one paying attention to a different aspect of dub. Highlights include the sonorous hollow tones of Radikal Guru's version of "Ireland Dub" and the raw stomp of Alpha Steppa's "9 Years Dub". Serious soundsystem material!

Review: Bristol's Hodl Tight crew make their first foray into the vinyl world here with a new and heavy EP from Inner Echo Ft Redders & Buggsy. The label has long aimed to serve up the best in new music inspired by roots and dub culture and continue in that fine tradition here. 'Winbread' is a fresh contemporary cut with hi-speed and grimy vocal deliveries, tight flows and plenty of references to modern culture while swaggering beats and a fluttering flute bring the vibes. An instrumental is included for more heads down dance floors and ALXZNDER offers a darker version while Somah makes it smooth and deep.

Review: The force is strong in Bristol as the Peng Sound operation surface in style with a second release helmed by Young Echo member Ishan Sound. Arriving roughly a year after the debut, hand stamped release from Gorgon Sound and Dubkasm, the dedication to soundsystem culture and bassweight has very much been maintained on Clash Of The Titans. Soundsystem veteran Ras Addis looms large, his portrait adorning the cover and his voice offering some commanding, authoritative words on justice and equality atop the unforgiving rhythmic work of Ishan Sound. Dubkasm maintain their Peng Sound 100% appearance record with a B Side re/version that coats proceedings in a tough digidub sheen. Lovingly mastered via 1/2inch tape, pressed onto hand-stamped, heavyweight 180g vinyl and presented in a hand numbered special edition of 500 printed sleeves designed by Tape-Echo.

Review: Peng Sound return to Clash Of The Titans, their debut release from Young Echo member Ishan Sound and sound system veteran Ras Addis with this pair of remixes from two more Bristol figures in Kahn and Hodge. In original form, "Clash Of The Titans" was a superlative dancehall tee-off between riddim and vocalist, yet Kahn and Outboxxer Hodge are up to the task of reworking the track with their remixes having apparently been rigorously road tested in dubplate form by the respected selectors like Mala, Kowton and Pinch. Kahn is in Bandulu mode a remix that pays reverence to the original's heavy stepping rhythm, whilst Hodge takes elements of Ishan Sound's production and applies them to a 125bpm template, with the results sounding weirdly like Egyptian Lover making UK Funky.

Review: Hotline continue to channel the most exciting sounds to be dissipating from the Bristol locale with their latest release a double pack from the mighty Ishan Sound! Chris Ebdon is evidently sitting on a wealth of Ishan Sound dubs with this double pack for Hotline following on from a self-titled Peng Sound release of a similar nature earlier this year. Presented in striking yellow, these six cuts find Ishan Sound working with the rolling vocal style of Rider Shafique, and sees Ebdon bring his more club-orientated style to the fore. Heavy steppers vibes through and through from the Young Echo man!

Review: Fresh from his Encrypted excursion earlier this year, Karnage returns with two more powerful packages of pure future. "Realise" features the smoky, purring tones of Rider Shafique who calls for unity over paranoid dynamics and shattered rim shots. Most commonly spotted around the 160 mark with the likes of Sam Binga, Rider's control at 140 is just as strong, as anyone who's familiar with Ishan Sound will already know. "Bayside Shakedown" taps into Karnage's eastern roots with its processed rising percussion before dropping into organs straight out of a zombie b-movie. Incredible scenes.

Review: London's Encrypted Audio are back with a new release by Stockholm's Kloudmen, who started sending music to the label back in 2015 - that chief Content described as 'next level'. Getting rinsed by major scene players such as Caspa and Hatcha played a large part in this EP's early potential. By now ENV 0121 would mark their seventh release for the label, where the duo collaborated with Kevin Clark aka REZ, a producer out of St. Louis, Missouri. Featuring the brooding atmosphere of deep dubstep jams such as 'Problem' and the contorted, off-kilter beat action of 'Paracusia', while on the flip Clark goes solo on the darkly dystopian dub of 'Politics'.

Review: Moonshine clearly can't let go of Subconscious, the 2013 album from Polish dubster Radikal Guru. Earlier this year, the label issued the Digitalizer Riddim 12", pairing up Subconcious highlight "Stay Calm" with a triplet of superb version excursions. Now that same YT-featuring cut appears on this rather dashing green 12", given the royal remix treatment by Glasgow's finest, Mungo's Hi-Fi. In the hands of this quartet, "Stay Calm" is transformed into a more conscious dubwise stepper and is complemented by the flipside take on "Earthwalker" by Sekkleman. Here the track is treated with all manner of delay, and boosted by some real sub heft.

Review: Following a whole run of releases on labels such as Encrypted, Version Collective and Deep Dark & Dangerous, Dutch darksmith Ramsez makes his debut on Jack Sparrow's Navy Cut. He does so with three stark blueprints; "Big Boi" backs up its badman title with a savage drill-like bassline and some of the wooziest beats he's crafted to date, "Swinger Club" gets a little sweary over deep space beats and a bassline that breathes while "Talk Crime" ends things on a pranged note as dissonant textures whip up deep mists and the bassline warps, melts and eventually combusts before your very ears. The only crime to talk of here would be to sleep on this...

Review: Scrub A Dub dub, two men in a tub. They're called Rapture 4D and newcomer Ruda and they're making some pretty stinking noises. "Hubble Flow Dub" transmits messages to the furthest corners of the cosmic over a rumpy-pumpy bass riff while "Left Hand Path" celebrates all the southpaws of the land with an eerie theramin-led bleep mosaic. Flip for two Rapture originals as "Skylab" takes us right down under the earth's crust with its swampy, gloopy flow and textures and "Kosmos Redshift" closes us on a freaky space jazz trip. Review: Rarefied's Black label rolls out another class bit of deep dubstep here with Rarefied at the buttons. His edits of two classic tunes update them nicely while retiring the vibe of the originals. 'Figaro' is a moody one with a low slung swagger and bouncy hits next to wispy cosmic melodies. 'Sparkalus' then has a heady and stoner vibe with its mystic flutes over reverb rich drum staggers. It's a cavernous chamber of sound that invites you right into the core before a nice LFO wobble keeps you there.
