Benga - "Roller"
Komonazmuk - "End Of The World"
Orien - "New World"
Rusko - "Jah Love" (feat Danman)
Martyn - "Everything About You"
The Others - "Freakshow"
Review: From Croydon orginator Benga's dubplate smasher, to rising Bristol talent Komonazmuk's sharp as razor production, from the West London
sounds of Orien's grimy halfstepper to Rusko's deep spiritual reggae vocal, 'Tempa Allstars 4' is a cutting-edge representation of what is
working on the floors of dubstep events worldwide. Rounding things off is a refreshing 2-step flavoured offering from Martyn, more known
for his d&b productions but making waves with in dubstep, and a deep dark Youngsta styled roller from The Others.

So Lonely (Consequence remix)
So Lonely (acappella)
Review: A considered highlight of recent Autonomic podcasts, D Bridge finally releases "So Lonely", a track notable for some heart wrenching vocals from the Exit Records boss himself. If the fragile and stripped down nature of the original is not for you (and the feline growls that intermittently appear throughout seem an odd accompaniment) then the commissioned remixes will certainly find favour; not least the effort from Hyperdub's Morgan Zarate which imbues proceedings with some shimmering future funk. Exit regular Consequence opts for the more familiar spacious D&B steppah vibe, flushing the nether regions of the crisp, electrofied 808 programming with plenty of menacing industrial atmosphere.

Decayed
Review: Two certified highlights of Exit Records' Mosaic compilation; D Bridge's "Rendezvous" and "Decayed" are finally pressed up loud on vinyl for this strictly limited white label issue! The tracks splays an introspective synth lead (that incidentally sounds like a smacked out take on that Bruce Hornsby 80s hit) across a bed of warm hypnagogic textures and a lolloping half time rhythm of industrial drums. On the flip, "Decayed" unfolds from the dense 4/4 thud into a creeped out epic, sitting as far away from drum & bass origins as D Bridge can get. All sub bass expanses tinged with menace and snatches of metallic 808s scuttling around in a unique rhythmic fashion, it makes for an entirely claustrophobic experience.

Love Hotel
The Dim Light
Review: Exit boss dBridge continues his push the boundaries with two deep and melodic, post-drum and bass tracks for his label. Lead cut "Love Hotel" sinks into the furthest depths of bass, offering a sound with as much in common with early electro as D&B. The track offers the most in its mood and subtle groove - not one to lose it to, but certainly one to get lost in. "The Dim Light" on the flip is minimal and abstract electronica merged with stepping tech syncopations to unveil dBridge's dystopian soundscape.

City Of Lonely Runaways
Dischord
Review: Disfigured Dubz continue their rich vein of release form, as Exit boss D Bridge joins the likes of Skream, Instra:mental and Phaeleh in adding to the label's double figure catalogue numbers. Operating at his beloved 170bpm, D Bridge manages to draw out a level of pensive emotion across the two arrangements here that is rarely matched by his peers, with song titles to match! "City Of Lonely Runaways" brushes silently into action as a lolloping liquid bump picks up the complex chord sequences and deep orchestral touches that hit you in heart. Check the flip for the more intrusive percussive nature of "Dischord" with swinging syncopation challenging your attention aside warm chiming chords and kaleidoscopic melodic flourishes. As usual, it's left to D Bridge to fully explore the crevices of the genre left untouched by the formulaic masses.

Review: Dub Police once again proves it's at the top of the game with the return of D1. Having spent much of the time since 2008's praised V3 album, D1 has been lingering in the shadows. Now he returns with his high energy "Jus Business." Complete with dark rave stabs, tripping jungle beats and pounding sub bass, this is post-apocalyptic rave dubstep from its master.

Great Britain
Review: This unlikely duo have matured nicely since the instant attention brought by their first single "Thou Shalt Always Kill," and this EP is a fine showcase of their evolving sound. Spoken word don Scroobious lays down his flow nicely over "Sick Tonight’s" fast, D&B-tempo beats, while "Great Britain" has a more dirty electro feel, complete with some bubbly synth work. The remixes are just as strong, with Doctor P turning "Sick Tonight" into a heavy dubstep stomper, Mumdance working his grimey magic on a slowed-down "Great Britain" and Sampha turning "Sick Tonight" into a woozy and dreamy hip-hop soundscape.

Ghost Notes
Review: London based producer Dark Sky arrives on Bristol label, Black Acre with a superb double header. The title track sees a stepping dubtech intro fly into rave chords and an arsenal of tough breaks, whilst haunting vocals wind around chilly synths. "Ghost Notes," on the flip sees a stun of fluoro synth work and burly aquacrunk beats colliding together in a Nintendo meets dub rave extravaganza.

F Technology
Tremor
Zoom
Totum
Review: Having made waves with their 50Weapons EP last year, the Black Rainbows EP sees the trio's triumphant return to Black Acre. Opening with the sparse, stripped back rhythms of "F-Technology", razor sharp snare hits dovetail between cavernous bass hits to create the kind of dread-inducing atmospheres one associates with the label. "Tremor", meanwhile is all about those rough and tumble drums, while the sub bass groans of "Zoom" and neon-tinged roughness of "Totum" round off an unsurprisingly excellent package. There's nobody hitting that sweet spot between classic dubstep and contemporary garage styles quite like Dark Sky, and this is as excellent an example of their productions as you'll hear.

Be Myself
Review: Cementing their rep as the busiest cats in electronic music, Modeselektor maintain the 50 Weapons pressure with a quartet of drops from Dark Sky. There have been waves of expectation surrounding the London based trio since they surfaced on the excellent Pictures Music label last year, and the Radius EP shows they can match the hype with aplomb. "Speeding Blue" is vintage 50 Weapons material, devious chords progressing at 45 degrees around expertly layered drum kicks, dropping into heavenly washes at all the right moments. Staying true to its title "Neon" essentially works as a battle of wits between luminescent melodics and a tightly wound marriage of keys, shuffling hi-hats and insistent bass dips whilst fractured shards of vocals add a yearning quality. On the flip "The Lick" continues this interplay between dark and light elements with basement level sub bass contrasting with the glacial vocal coos that flicker beneath a tinned can of tropical fruit 808 flex - that bassline! "Be Myself" rounds off proceedings with what is best described as The Neptunes arising on Swamp81. Pure class.

Gold (John Roberts remix)
Review: Getting John Roberts to remix Darkstar is not dissimilar to the 2009 Hyperdub stroke of genius that saw Detroit prodigy Kyle Hall rework "Aidys Girl's A Computer". Of course since then a lot has happened: Aiden Whalley and James Young morphed from a production team into a band, adding vocalist James Buttery along the way, and North, the fruits of their labour, was a fragile, delicate and beautiful album. Tracks like "Gold", which here gets a deserved single release, showcase an 80s synth pop sensibility, with Buttery's vocals bringing an otherwise unattainable level of heartbreaking fragility to the song. The remix from Berlin-based American producer Roberts - who just released a frankly stunning LP of his own on Dial - ups the tempo with looped claps, chopped vocals and a delicate piano driven melody. An essential 12".
