Tiptop Audio Dragonfly Delay ZDSP Cartridge
Cat: 595777 Rel: 19 Jan 16

Collection of 8 Voltage Controlled time-based, delay algorithms in mono and stereo
Notes: The Dragonfly Delay is a collection of 8 Voltage Controlled time-based, delay algorithms in mono and stereo. This collection includes delays, ping-pongs, multi-taps, and polyrhythmic madness with a variety of controls. Feedback, delay time, L/R ratio, and tap levels are all under voltage control, waiting to bend time and space to create a dynamic stereo image. Those familiar with the sound of tape echo will find the Dragonfly Delay especially appealing - VC will let you turn the soft, smooth and silky into the warble of decades ago.

The Dragonfly is more than just a collection of pristine delay lines under VC. When used in combination with the Z-DSP's dynamic clocking, the Dragonfly Delay will simultaneously bend time, pitch shift, and squash the sample rate, creating complex effects that only the Z-DSP is capable of. Combining analog and digital feedback will make the Dragonfly scream on its own, adding new colors to your sonic palette. The Dragonfly is one of the most interesting sets of algorithms offered for the Z-DSP platform and comes bundled with it.

The Dragonfly Delay contains the following algorithms:
Program 1 - Mono Delay with Low Pass Filter on Feedback
Program 2 - Stereo Ping-pong
Program 3 - Stereo Delay with Independent Time per Channel
Program 4 - Stereo Delay with Independent Feedback per Channel
Program 5 - 3 Taps Stereo Delay Line (25% Feedback)
Program 6 - 3 Taps Stereo Delay Line (75% Feedback)
Program 7 - Stereo In/Out Polyrhythm
Program 8 - Mono In/Stereo Out Polyrhythm

TipTop Audio FSU - Distort/Glitch/SOS/Error Codes Card Bundle For Z-DSP Module (black)
Cat: 914077 Rel: 12 Dec 22

FSU is heavily on the experimental side. Like our FSU FX module the FSU cards for Z-DSP takes in audio and F#@% S#$^#^ UP.
Notes: FFSU is heavily on the experimental side. Like our FSU FX module the FSU cards for Z-DSP takes in audio and F#@% S#$^#^ UP. The first three cards are Distort, Glitch and Sound on Sound a creative set for turning any input signal into something entirely different. But in addition to those three card we have included a bonus fourth card, a re-issue of Error Codes, one of the very first cards released to the public by a third party DSP programmer, Rolf Wohrmann, who is now Waldorf Music CTO. The card's last algorithm has been altered by our own Chris Clepper to make it match the current version of the Z-DSP as well as the older ones.

FSU Bundle: Distort

This bank distorts the incoming audio in various ways from emulations of analogue tape and fuzz distortion to ring mod and frequency shifting.

Important Note! All of the programs in this bank are designed to work with the Mix set to 100% wet (full clockwise). Interesting effects can also be made with varying amounts of dry signal mixed in as well.

FSU Bundle: Glitch

This bank of algorithms uses a variety of delay and pitch techniques to introduce glitches and warp the sound.

Most of these work best with 100% wet output (Mix knob at full clockwise) to get the maximum glitchy effects. When the dry is mixed in they can also create types of chorus, delay and tremolo effects as well.

FSU Bundle: SOS

The key to using these programs is to only grab shorter chunks of sound which can be done manually, but an envelope generator (AR, ADSR) can help with controlling and triggering what is recorded.

At the highest Fidelity there is only 1 second of memory but lowering the DSP clock increases the recording time and changes the pitch of the recording. Fidelity is pretty critical to these effects.

These programs need to be set to 100% wet mix for maximum effects.

FSU Bundle: Error Codes (Free Card w/ FSU Bundle)

Error Codes is a reissue of one of the first commercially available cards for the Z-DSP, and is included as a bonus set of audio mangling effects to complement the FSU bundle.

Tiptop Audio Grain De Folie Granular ZDSP Cartridge (black)
Cat: 605235 Rel: 19 May 16

Granular ZDSP cartridge for creatinng new sounds from existing material
Notes: Granular Synthesis uses small slices of sounds ('grains') to compose new sounds from existing material. By combining multiple grains of differing lengths, amplitude, pitch and speed new sounds are created which are often very different from the original sound recorded in. Xenakis claims to have invented the technique and indeed his 'Analogique A-B', composed of tiny tape splices of pure tones, is credited as the first piece of granular music back in 1959.

In the context of the Z-DSP, a block of memory is set to hold digital samples for playback: he Z-DSP has one second of memory for the audio used in processing. From this audio buffer the grains will sample and modify smaller sections for playback. The number of o rains in the process determine how dense the overall output sounds. These programs have 3, 4 or 6 grains for playback. Each grain plays from a random point in the audio buffer and have an independent envelope controlling their duration. The envelope time is the 'grain size' parameter in many of the programs.

The French phrase for the cartridge is "Grain de Folie" which could be translated as "seeds of madness", but in French "grain" also translates to "grain", and "madness" evokes the strange disassembling/reassembling granular process. Also, "avoir un grain de folie" is a typically French expression to describe people behaving in a non-conventional way, thus a Ming play on words quite nicely describing the unpredictable nature of this set of algorithms.

Tiptop Audio Mariana Trench Feedback Delay Networks Cartridge For Z-DSP Module
Cat: 693139 Rel: 02 Jul 18

Delay/reverb expansion card for the TipTop Audio Z-DSP Digital Signal Processor
Notes: Mariana Trench is an FDN card for the Z-DSP. Feedback Delay Networks (FDNs) are built around multiple delays which are connected to their inputs thanks to a feedback matrix designed for its stability and lossless properties. FDN can mimic the recursive process of sound waves bouncing back and forth in an acoustic space. They were first suggested for artificial reverberation by Michael Gerzon (1971) and later John Stautner and Miller Puckette (1982) introduced four-channel FDN reverberator with general stability conditions.

FDN can also be used as a special case of digital waveguides, they can be tuned, or also used as complex delays. The Mariana Trench Z-DSP cartridge is designed to explore these more unusual sides of the FDN algorithms. Mariana Trench Z-DSP cartridge is designed by Christophe Duquesne Anckorage - Haken Audio developement team - La Voix du Luthier.

TipTop Audio Stackable Shielded 3.5mm & 1/8'' Jack & Plug Patch Cables (30cm/white/pack of 5)
Cat: 929123 Rel: 27 Feb 23

Stackable shielded 3.5mm patch cables
Notes: Tiptop Audio's revolutionary 3.5mm Stackcable is the world's first cable that combines low-noise shielded performance with the convenience of stacking banana cables. The patented Stackcable provides signal splitting directly on the back of the plug, giving you the flexibility to distribute signals without a multiple module.

Stackcables vs Multiples:

The Stackcable opens up a whole new approach to the art of synthesizer patching. Complex signal flow is more visible and easier to follow and you'll never again have to interrupt your workflow to stop, trace back, and insert a multiple. Spend more time concentrating on music making and less time on figuring how to run multiple signal paths. In addition, when comparing multiple modules vs Stackcables, the Stackcables can come out cheaper and provide you with more mult points, whenever you need them, in any configuration, without taking up any rack space in your system.

Stackcables vs Regular Patch Cables:

When comparing the Stackcables with regular patch cables, the Stackcables always keep your jacks reusable no matter how many connections are running to or from a jack. Using standard patch cables effectively "seals up" a jack once patched in, a major limitation in the dynamic workflow of a modular synthesizer. And when it comes to carrying your audio signals, the Stackcable is superior to low-cost patch cables because they are made with heavy-gauge signal conductor and signal shielding, providing both low capacitance, low impedance, and excellent noise rejection. Additionally, by providing shielding from electrical interference, the Stackcable outperforms any other signal splitter at handling audio and control signals in a professional studio environment, keeping both your studio quiet and your modular synth signals clean.

Stackcables Unique Mechanism:

The Stackcable's elegant connectors hide a complex sub-miniature electromechanical design that tightly integrates a 3.5mm plug and a 3.5mm jack together at each end of the cable, all the while handling both ground and signal. This innovative mechanism is what makes the Stackcable a reality, yet it provides an even more compact connector than a single-conductor banana cable. So if you have never experienced stack-ability, then get ready to feel how effortless, creative, and mind- altering your patching will become with these Stackcables.

Stackcables Warranty:

As of July 2017, Stackcables are manufactured in-house under full quality control, allowing Tiptop Audio to provide customers with a 2-year warranty.

Stackcables are compatible with all audio gear that uses the 3.5mm / 1/8'' jack and plug. (Do not use Stackcables with Switchcraft Tini-Jaxr brand jacks.)
