Originally from a 16 track, 69 minute release only available for Bandcamp for $69 (or $4.20 per track), the 420 project brings us practically brand spanking new Galcher EP, just under a different name. Finally at an accessible price (and including signature Galcher vocals in a majority of the tracks to boot) this vinyl release hopes to bring more fans who missed the original release to the 420 club.

The night's second compilation is coming soon but before that is this taster which gives you a great cross-section of the sounds to expect: leftfield disco, mature grooves, deep and slow acid workouts and plenty in between. Review: Said to be discovered and championed by a young Daniele Baldelli, this track from 1983 has been defined as a cosmic classic. The work of producer Steve Coe and his partner Sheila Chandra as Monsoon, they combined elements of dub, dance and ethnic music, mainly released through their Indipop label. Their mesmerising and majestic track 'The Dream' is featured on this reissue by Emotional Rescue, as well as an edit of original B-side cut 'Meditasian' featuring a sublime sitar solo which will hypnotise you into submission, but cut down by a good 20 minutes compared to the original.

Review: Into The Deep Records is a Paris-based, vinyl-only label run by Arthur Lastmann and Step Daw. It presents a reissue of Nu Ambient Grooves by Chris Zippel aka Genuine, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release. The productions were originally released on Bavarian imprint Ninetysix Sounds back in 1997 and is full of quality downtempo, IDM and acid sounds. Opening up with the psychedelic sunrise breaks of 'Clearing The Past', it soon leads into the sunset on the chilled beats of 'Wandering Around, Lost'. Over on the flip it's all about the emotive electro futurism of 'Playground'.

Review: Jo Wallace's Ramrock label has always proved adept at blending reggae, dub and lovers rock with elements of jazz, soul and Balearic beats. You'll find a similar blend of sounds at the heart of the label's latest 12" - a fine, roots reggae style cover version of Aaron Neville's much-loved rare groove jam 'Hercules' by Asian Dub Foundation singer Ghetto Priest. His version (side A) is effortlessly soulful, with warming horns, clipped guitars and his own sublime vocals rising above a languid reggae riddim. Arguably even better is Darren Morris and Ashley Beedle's flipside remix, which adds bluesy pianos, hazy horns, vibrant Clavinet riffs and Ghetto Priest's vocals to a faithful rendition of the swinging, bumpin' groove that made Neville's 1973 version so addictive.

Review: Artless Cuckoo has coaxed a second release out of Ghia here and it's another stunning following the highlight collectable and sold out first offering. This one delves into Ghia's past and presents a super limited 7" with two unreleased recordings from 1985: At The Hilton. The group was made up of Lutz Boberg and Frank Simon and they later joined with singer Lisa Ohm and these tunes are taken from an old archive of tapes. They are brilliantly delicate and unassuming, with lo-fi drum machines, wispy chords and deep celestial pads all taking you on a gentle cosmic jazz trip.

Review: The Artless Cuckoo label has done a fine job of showcasing the work of lesser-known German outfit Ghia his year by releasing an album of rediscovered 1980s recordings as well as a special 7". Now Thank You has put together this 12" package with three different versions of 'Don't Leave Me Alone.' The original dropped in 1987 and was an instant euro-pop classic. An OG copy on wax is tough to find these days so often fetches three figures. Soon as you hear the tune though you know why - it's effortlessly catchy with mounting tension and super creative vocals.

Review: Trip-hop meets modern digital ambience on Gi Gi's latest for INDEX:Records. Nothing but the music meets the ear here, plunging us into ricochety sonic hotwirings from the jump. Review: Following up last year's production with Baltimore techno legend Maurice Fulton on 'Jigoo', the next release on Gudu is the first of two songs by label boss Peggy Gou that she will release over the coming months. Her first single in over two years, it translates to 'Butterfly' and is another collaboration. This time with fellow Korean sensation OHHYUK who is the lead singer and guitarist in the band Hyukoh. 'Nabi' is a downtempo, pop-inflected number said to be inspired by '80s synth classics and '90s Korean songs that Gou's mother used to play at home during her childhood.

Review: Group Du Jour was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1983 and have had a storied career spanning the decades since. They have always brought together live, ethnic, and electronic sounds with folk and modern pop, later getting ever more experimental. Early albums Forgotten Colors in 1986 and Wonderful Vision in 1988 are groundbreaking affairs, the latter of which gave rise to 'Motion Of Waves', which is something of a cult favourite for deep diggers. It is a rich instrumental groove that layers up synthesiser, flute, guitar and haunting vocals sitting over a brilliantly electric beat. The whole thing was a live one-take recording and is perfectly suited to both sunset and sunup moments of dancing pleasure.

Review: Mother Tongue sure knows how to serve up some beautifully escapist and Balearic sounds and that's exactly what we have here with this seductive new 12" from Tiombe Lockhart feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow. This welcome return to the label from Lockhart comes as a teaser ahead of her new album Going Forth By Day. On this evidence, it's going to be a real doozy because 'An Osirian Dream' is utterly angelic. The vocals soar to the heavens next to celestial melodies over a gentle rhythm. Also included a beatless version and a couple of T's takes which get more jazzy.

Review: Both "Corner Song" and "The Flying Man" were first featured on Tempelhof and Gigi Masin's second collaborative album, 2016's arguably overlooked album Tsuki. Both are naturally worthy of a single release, though, as they deserve wider recognition. Both are quietly beautiful, drowsy and hazily picturesque, with gently percussive opener "Corner Song" just edging out the beat-less brilliance of "The Flying Man" - in which Masin delivers a weary and heart-aching vocal - in the "best track" stakes. On the flip you'll find a radical re-interpretation of "Corner Song" by New York producer Jex Opolis, who wraps Tempelhof and Masin's glistening guitars around a wonderfully colourful and tactile Balearic boogie groove.

Review: Balearic DJs Chris Coco and George Solar have been making tunes together fora couple of years after first meeting at Ibiza Sonica radio. They soon hit it off in person and in the studio, so now we get their first album, Island Vibrations. Solar is an accomplished percussionist so he and Chris made a list of rhythms around which to loosely build each track with some of those used including Nyabinghi, Guaguanco, One Drop and Algaroba. Most were record in Ibiza with added bass from Fly and lots of organic synth work embellishing each one into this lush collection of fresh downtempo and chill out sounds.

Review: Back in 2017, Damon G Roddick - yep, Dam-Funk himself - unveiled a new project on Music From Memory, Garrett. Since then, he's delivered two albums of evocative, melodious and, by his standards, melancholic synthesizer music that add a picturesque, almost Balearic tinge to his usually forthright synth-funk sound. Here he presents what he says is the third and final installment in the trilogy, once again painting colourful, emotive musical pictures with little more than a bank of vintage synths and a couple of drum machines. As you'd expect, it's as on-point, entertaining and enjoyable as its predecessors, delivering the kind of attractive, sofa-friendly synth sounds that are guaranteed to put smiles on stressed and miserable faces.

Review: Some superb musical archaeology here, as The Artless Cuckoo presents an album of rediscovered 1980s recordings from obscure German outfit Ghia, including a smattering that the trio made whilst living in Spain between 1986 and '88. Some of the tracks were reportedly recorded using a porta-studio style four-track, but you'd never be able to tell thanks to the fine mastering job. Musically, it's an undeniable sun-soaked affair that brilliantly blurs the boundaries between horizontal electrofunk, instrumental Balearic synthpop, Mediterranean jazz-funk, Afro-cosmic and more energetic, dancefloor-focused flavours. It's the sort of thing that Nu Genea would rightfully be praised for releasing, except it was recorded 'back in the day' rather than earlier this year. Terrific stuff!

Review: Stone's Throw has never really made any wrong moves in our opinion, and here the label puts its full force behind a deceptively powerful album. Taking us to places that are deeper than perhaps what the imprint is best known for, this is immersive, hypnotic, otherworldly stuff made from a variety of plugged in machines, analogue and otherwise, including a semi-modular synth. The result is a journey-style collection packed with atmosphere but one that's also painstakingly detailed and textured. Sound waves are rendered almost visible by the movements, drones, tracks and other pieces here, drum and effects machines producing the kind of noises that mesmerise and suck you in further as time passes. Tunes to get lost in, the only remaining question is whether anyone will ever want to return.

Review: When he's not playing guitar in the likes of Oasis and Ride, Andy Bell likes to explore electronic pastures as GLOK. Every year since 2019 he's released a new album, and here's the third, Pattern Recognition. His approach is assured and highly developed, taking on a kosmische tone that nods to Cluster et al thanks to the guitar work threaded in between the synth lines. It's warm and undulating, and oh so easy on the ears - the sound of a veteran musician stretching their legs and enjoying every minute of it. Watch out for album highlight 'Process', featuring the dulcet tones of Shamon Cassette delivering a laconic line in poetry over Bell's chiming arpeggios.

Review: Re:discovery continues to explore the obscure and often-overlooked end of the 1990s IDM and ambient movement. Their latest must-check reissue is a first ever vinyl pressing of the previously CD-only 1998 album Tw0 Zer0s by Grain, a Californian duo whose hybrid sound offered a comedown-friendly fusion of ambient, IDM, and the various aural themes found in a lot of electronic music made on the US West Coast during the period (think dub, breaks, acid and psychedelic). It remains a fine album, with our picks of a very strong bunch including the head-nodding haziness of 'Strangeness of the Kind', the hip-hop-goes-psychedelic-electronica flex of 'Birthson', the dubbed-out ambient jazz of 'The Suspenders of Acrobats' and the hallucinatory ambient weirdness of 'Forever'.

Review: London's All Day I Dream label is instantly recognisable for its use of clouds as its EP covers, a trend it has kept up since since its first release in 2011. This latest wispy six-track EP from Tim Green is a beautiful floater, very much unafraid of plunging its head into the deepest and most rapturous of clouds. Opener 'Water Steers' very much sounds like we're floating up to the pearly gates, with its stretched-out choir samples and voxy one-shots opening to a tricky single-key house track. From there, it's all blissful yet rave-worthy, with tech-trancers like 'Tears' and 'We've Been Here Before' not letting up from the crossrhythmic formula, but still laying down a slowly-revealed emotion.

Review: English duo Groove Armada is a towering presence over British and world dance music. They have served up countless global hits as well as more underground sounds, and recently their vast back catalogue is back in the spotlight as Late Night Tales have reissued three of their most superb compilations. Off the back of that, now comes this greatest hits album which is billed as GA25: All The Hits & More to mark their quarter of a century in the game. Review: Groove Armada might well be best known for their big beats, and fair enough. Their mastery of a smart sample and a compelling groove paired with catchy vocal hooks made that chart topping superstars who went on to tour the world endlessly before then disappearing and remerging on more underground labels like Hypercolour. But you don't get that good at sampling with being deep digging record fiends. And that is exactly what made them such a perfect fit for the Late Night Tales series which is all about offering up alternative sounds to accompany post-club comedowns. These collections were gateways into new musical worlds for many dance fans and they still stand up today so it's great to have them back in print.

Review: Rubicon marks the first physical edition of Galcher Lustwerk's driving-themed alias, Road Hog. Collecting tracks from seven releases spanning from 2014 to 2021, Rubicon serves as the project's Greatest Hits (for now). Including tracks from the Cleveland-dedicated album 'Tour De Hog' as well as the sharp toothed 'Spares' and 'More Spares' the pithy 'Haul Ass' plus some cinematic favorites from 'DWB' and 'On The Lam'.
