  1. Sedition (6:32)
  2. Crown Of Nails (6:26)
Review: One year later, UVB-76's shadowy collective 4 6 2 5 strike again with two more unique startling schematics. Flexing across the tempo axis, "Sedition" leads with a fast 170 twist as hard pneumatic kicks cut through the dense foggy atmospherics before doubling up the momentum and taking unpredictable twists midway. "Crown Of Nails" maintains the hunchback pressure and that heavy foreboding sense synonymous with each member of the collective, but does so at a cool 105BPM pace giving space for each percussive element to ricochet around your purdy little pranged-out soul.

  3. Deep Insight (3:40)
  4. Before You Go (4:16)
Review: Fresh from her Med School missions, Moscow's A.Fruit maintains the leftfield beat heat with another savage session, this time on Om Unit's evergreen Cosmic Bridge. "Make Them Shake" is a loopy ghetto/technoid mutant barbed with all manner of strange squelchy textures while "Polykarp" flips the motion sensors with a surprise drop into iced soul chords and skippy breaks. Meanwhile on the B we're struck with more beguiling gold: with its jazzy chords and pneumatic kicks "Deep Insight" stalks like a cat but punches like a bear while "Before You Go" brings us home on more of a mystic, percussive spacious trip. Crucial through and through, neither A.Fruit or Cosmic Bridge are messing around here.

  2. Pyrrhic (part I) (7:10)
  3. Pyrrhic (part II) (6:36)
  4. Currents (5:23)
Review: One of the great joys of James Clements' music as ASC is its thrilling unpredictability. While his productions have always been rooted in drum and bass, he's released little straightforward D&B for the best part of a decade. His latest outing on Samurai is dark and hard to pigeonhole, offering tracks that variously mix and match elements of intense acid, Autechre-style IDM, the sub-weight of D&B culture, the aural haziness of ambient and the skittish post-D&B rhythms that have long marked out his work. Our picks of a very strong bunch are the buzzing experimental techno psychedelia of acid-laden closing cut "Currents" and the sparse, sub-heavy haziness of opener "The Siren", where high tempo acid lines bubble away above a suitably hazy and paranoid backing track.

  5. Serial Killaz & Run Tingz Cru - "Bun Babylon" (feat Tenor Fly & Blackout JA - DJ Hybrid remix) (5:14)
  6. Run Tingz Cru - "Women Dem" (feat Top Cat) (5:05)
Review: Bristol's Run Tingz Cru look back over the last year or so of releases, precision select their bubbliest, bumpiest bangers and cut them to limited 12". Featuring the likes of Bladerunner, Serial Killaz, DJ Hybrid, Brian Brainstorm, Top Cat, Tenor Fly, Blackout JA, Da Fuchman and of course the RTC themselves, vibes are high throughout as we're schooled in breakbeat science. From the opening warped dread bass wobbles of Bladerunner's "Sound Killer" through to Run Tingz Cru and Top Cat's grand finale silky sub roller "Women Dem", this whole 12" is bulging with timeless jungle goodness. Strictly limited; grab this while you can.

  1. Yeah (4:13)
  2. Liff Up (3:28)
  3. Wicked (4:14)
Review: He's back at the controls! Breakage has been in his element since launching Index, rolling out jam after jam after jam. Rooted in the foundations, stripped back to the bare bones and designed to make both you and your speakers shake, everything he's delivered on the label so far has been prime mixing material and supported across the board. These are no exceptions; "Yeah" is a cantankerous shakedown with all the funk you'd expect from the man, "Liff Up" is minimal, bouncy and unhurried in its momentum while "Wicked" closes with a snaking sub that will both squeeze and bite you. Wicked and indeed bad, respect to Breakage.

  2. Blue Mountain (4:34)
Review: Dead Man's Chest on MYOR off-shoot Diamond Life... You already know what type of damage this is going to cause before you drop the needle don't you? "Drum Shanty" lives up to its name. Coming on strong like you're coming up during a Ratty or Tango set in '92, there's mentasms, classic sensual vocal samples, a whole smorgasbord of breaks and pads that can shave every hair off your body. "Blue Mountain" (quite possibly a reference to the legendary Stokes Croft venue) is a little more pranged out with its reversed elements, deep shadows between the elements and alien textures that are designed purely to dark you out. Yes you.

  4. Vital Link - "Jungle Life" (5:12)
Review: If bustling, bass-heavy jungle sweatiness is your thing, head this way. First released digitally way back in 2016, this joint EP from DJ Shadowplay and Vital Link offers up quartet of floor-pounding peak time anthems rich in unashamedly weighty sub bass, fizzing old school breakbeats and heady samples. The brew is arguably at its most potent on opener "The Box Remix", a raw and powerful revision of a track by fellow Kemet artist Human Being. The bass-weight and rhythmic pressure continues elsewhere on the EP, from the sampled Balearic guitars and insane beats-and-bass of "Man Child", to the overheard phone chat and aggressive bass of "Code 64" and Roy Ayers-sampling sunshine-jungle of "Jungle Life".

  4. Beliefs (bonus Beat) (4:39)
Review: Since re-launching three years ago, pioneering jungle imprint Kemet has offered up a mixture of unreleased '90s cuts, timely reissues and new tracks inspired by the formative years of drum & bass. This EP from long-serving contemporary producer Julian Flowers AKA Drama1 fits into the latter category, offering up four authentic jungle rollers that recall the Halcyon days of muddy outdoor raves powered by colossal soundsystems. Opener "Dub Fi Dub" is deliciously raw, weighty and loose like the best early jungle cuts, while "Eternity" pairs bombastic Amen breaks with long, elongated sub-bass. "Need For Love" sees Flowers doff a cap to early dreamy D&B tracks (with sun-kissed success), before "Beliefs (Bonus Beat)" closes proceedings with a heady mixture of silly samples, big breakbeats and even bigger sub-bass.

  3. Track 3 (6:16)
  4. Track 4 (6:00)
Review: What's the Storey Globex glory? Usual suspects Reaper and Dwarde get back to the foundations once again for this awesome series of untitled tracks. Rough, heavy and authentic without any unnecessary dewy eyed nostalgia, each cut salutes and stings in equal measure; "Track 1" is pure jungle drumfunk, edits and chops galore, "Track 2" brings the floaty factor thanks to some beautiful pads and neat melodic frills on the fills, "Track 3" brings much more of a hardcore edge with those rolling kicks and crushed snares and a breakbeat/rewind-splashed massive boost up on the main groove, "Track 4" continues the 4x4 flavour and does so with some almighty transitions and sudden melodic layers, "Track 5" is the sound of you putting the needle down for another listen.

  4. Dwarde, Gand & Tim Reaper - "Track 4" (5:07)
Review: 7th Storey deliver the Globex goods once again as Tim Reaper recruits the label's usual motley lot for an en mass exploration of hardcore / jungle fusion. Each track untitled as standard, Dwarde joins the fray to bring the tension on their hunchbacked prang roller on "Track 1" and the velvet deep jungle sojourn that is "Track 3" while Mr Sensi tags in for the jungle techno, more four-beat oriented bulldozing on "Track 2". Finally, "Track 4" sees Dwarde, Reaper and Gand getting mucky in hardcore heaven. Play the corporate game!

Review: Med School's travelling wilbury Etherwood delivers his first collection of originals since last year's album "In Stillness". Written on the road throughout summer 2018 in his van, each piece depicts an entirely fresh view that ranges from the azure waters and soft sand of "See The Sky" to much darker, tense rollers such as "Driving Out". Highlights include the soft introspection of "Clouds", the delicate pianos and meany moody bass groan on "Lulerain" and the skippy bliss of "Away From It All". Time to get lost...

Review: Fire bun! Fracture continues spreading the most positive of vibrations with "Unite". Hot on the heels of his "Big Up The Ladies" EP on his own Astrophonica, he links up with the 1985 crew with four more absolute heaters. "Give Me Love" brings Fox into the fray to remind us why he's one of the UK's best melodic MCs over a freshly sharpened jungle riddim, "Feel 4 U" raises the spine-tingles with its rave pads while lowering your centre of gravity with its bashy beats and gutter-slopping bass shreds, "Realise" sees 1985 bossman Perez get mucky in the dark while "Brothers & Sisters" taps back into the more techno-inspired aesthetics Fracture's been exploring lately. Imagine if Fracture was commentating a boxing match between Altern-8 and Rockwell down a dark alley and you're playing the right sport. Peace, love and "Unite"-y.

Review: Essential damagement jams from one of the most consistent and forward-thinking labels in the contemporary jungle game, "Full Repertoire Vol. 02" features fire from friends old and new. Label owner Law tags up with rising artist Kola Nut once again to ease us into the EP with "Somewhere New" where goodlooking-esque soft arpeggios and pipes disarm us before the darkness unfolds. Eusebeia returns to Repertoire with the pressure cooker hardcore pads of "Shape The Future", newcomer Mani Festo follows his killer Rupture debut with the equally menacing tightly coiled spring that's "Next 2 U" before Necrotype closes with the coldest cut of the collection, all strange humanised noises, melting droplets and complex breaks. Full to the brim.

Review: LSB returns with the third chapter in his Footnotes series. Four more originals spanning his stark, restrained style, the title track sums up the spirit perfectly; big strings, a classic rave vocal refrain and a dynamic that will melt your trousers. It's complemented by the much darker, tunnel technoid "Space Stepper", the metallic harmonies and salubrious future funk flare of "Do Your Thing" and the emotion-laden, introspective "Melrose". Get footloose for Footnotes...

Review: After a short break, Mako's Utopia Music have fired into 2019 all guns blazing with two long-awaited Break cuts and an album from Hydro and War. This label debut from Belgian MZine continues the heat with necksnap stepper sessions that maintain Utopia's consistent quality. "Equate" is all about those throaty moans under a yearning desert call while "Croon (feat. Afya)" takes us much deeper into the machine's stomach so you can hear every acidic gurgle and croak. Flip for two more danger sessions: "Brinkman" is made of springs and laced with glacial pads while "Generis" closes the EP with a star-gazing cosmic touch. On-point.

Review: Back to 2005! Straight off the heat of their debut album The Esoteric Funk, Nucleus & Paradox release this alarmingly savage 12" and we've been waiting for a reissue ever since. "Love Her" sounds like a swarm of bees trapped in an Akai. Buzzing, high voltage, strange harmonics, grumpy bass groans and flashes of venom amens, it's been a cult classic for 14 years. "Dilenttantes" is even more fitting of their Esoteric title with Foley sounds, strange twisted textures and more precision breakbeats. Two timeless bumps from one of drum & bass jungle's most longstanding and visionary duos - grab this while you can.

Review: There are few drum and bass producers who can boast quite as deep a discography as Dev Pandya AKA Paradox. 23 years after making his debut, the veteran producer continues to dish up high-grade dancefloor workouts in his inimitable style. Pandya begins his first EP of 2019 with "Decagon", a punchy roller whose crunchy, snare-driven breakbeats, colossal dub bass and delay-laden electronic bleeps recall the early days of British bass music 30 years ago. He heads explores similar sonic territory on flipside "Hakai", a similarly weighty - if a little sweatier - excursion built around elongated sub-bass tones, revivalist jungle drums and echoing toaster chat.

Glistening with a selection of much-loved and precision-positioned samples, "Eclipse" takes the lead and has potential to be one of the biggest tunes this summer. It's backed by the equally delicious and soulful "Consequence" where plucky guitar strums and a gilded vocal join forces to bring you to your knees, the heads-down and contemplative Soul:r-style dreamer "Star Song" and the powerful drum-led celestial wounder "Meditation". Review: Very few producers could make giddy dancefloor gold out of rip-snorting jungle breakbeats, rushing rave stabs and Homer Simpson samples, but that's exactly what prolific producer Tim Reaper has done on "Jugdance", the delightfully over the top opening cut from his last collection of nostalgic workouts. It's silly, but in truth few producers are quite as good as Reaper when it comes to crafting carefree, hardcore-era jungle workouts. That much is proven by the EP's other killer cuts, including the bleep heavy bass-weight of "Get In The Flow" and Necrotype collaboration "Track 4", a powerful roller heavy on bombastic bass, hip-hop vocal samples and loved-up synth stabs.
