Review: Always a good week when some new RAND Muzik drops. The Leipzig imprint's brand of understated grooves are on fine display once again on this various artists EP. On RM 12015, feel the low-slung and funky dub of A2's 'Open Your Mind' which they follow up with some moody computer funk on the next track 'Entity'. Over on the B side, Andy Panayi serves up some dusty 303 shenanigans on 'Acidbend' in the vein of classic Cabinet Records and closing it out is Stopouts with the subterranean breaks of 'Pass Go'.

Review: The Abstract Eye aka Gifted & Blessed always makes electrifying music that brims and bristles with energy. It is dense and textural and requires close attention to unpack and get lost in but that effort is always more than repaid. This is another brilliantly heavy outing, a first on Technoindigenous, that makes great use of one of the most legendary bits of gear in any studio - the TR-909, Here the artist finds new ways to make it sing with acid-laced house, clattering percussion and cosmic synth work that will rewire your brain.

Review: Big up to the Orson label for hitting a quarter of a century of releases. Malata based artists Neil Hales aka Acidulant gets the nod and shows of his love of direct acid sounds. He has done similar on the likes of DJ Pierre's labels Jack Trax Records and Afro Acid but really hits the next level here with hard hitting and turbocharged bangers like 'Heavy Max' next to slower, more spaced out and melancholic jams like 'Butify'. Review: Some six years after debuting via a deliciously angular and energetic EP from Jaquarius and Mono-Enzyme 307, the Acid Avengers imprint notches up release number 20. Like most of the label's EPs, it's a multi-artist affair. Sometime Balkan Vinyl and Bass Assault artist Acidulant handles side A, bouncing between rushing, piano-sporting 1992 hardcore revivalism ('Super Rave'), sub-heavy deep electro haziness ('Save The Last Rave') and throbbing, arpeggio driven trance/breakbeat techno fusion ('Hauz Trax'). Voiron, who last graced the label back in 2016, takes over on the flip. The Paris-based producer first fuses glistening, spacey melodies, twisted acid lines, post-electro beats and dirty bass on 'Bon Kick Voiron', before opting for deep acid house on 'Digital Voiron Workstation' and atmospheric, Orbital-meets-'90s tech-house on 'Sugar Voiron'.

Review: Banoffee Pies is one of those labels that doesn't miss no matter what genre it takes aim at. Best known for its hype garage sounds it heads into minimal territory here with Adelina at the buttons for the seventh in the Black Label Series. 'Outdoor' is a primo cut with judders groovers and sinewy synths demanding you dance, 'Spirit DNX' then slows down and gets all acidic and twisted and 'Double Danger' is a real cracker that fizzes with static. Last of all, 'Own Methods' is a future world where the robots have taken over and mysterious pads lead you through an automated world of cosmic energy.

Review: This is a special sampler 12" taken from the Various Artists compilation Defend Your Planet that Avoidant Records put out. It features a heavyweight crew of electro mainstays, first of which are The Advent & Zein Ferreira. Their 'Defend Your Plane' is a turbo powered cosmic assault with skewed synths and high speed drums. Assembler Code's 'Line Of Sight' doesn't let up, powering on through sheet metal snares and juddering drum programming and then man like Carl Finlow layers in prickly melodies, dark sci-fi energy and booming bass. Analogue master Versalife shits things down with the shadowy 'SH09.'

Review: A new project based out of Copenhagen - Aether's Spring comes shrouded in mystery but makes a bold statement with this first transmission. WATER: Dancing Moon 12" leads in with "House In Blue Rain," a downcast track bathed in melancholic pads and blown out percussion around a steady 4/4 tick. "Dancing Moon" is a more kinetic affair that works with all kinds of synth shapes alongside some primal drum machine percussion that lends the track a new wave quality that suits it just fine. Closer "Throne Of Clay" spreads across the B side in a brooding, journeying epic fit for the likes of classic James Holden or a more wave-minded Jon Hopkins.

Review: RFXN kicks off life with a new single from David Agrella which has seen early support from Ricardo Villalobos. First off he offers up his own Acid Mix of 'Perro Balearico' and it's a supple, deep and dubby track with liquid synths and prog chords that sound both retro and future all at once. The original is a more dreamy and spaced-out sound for 5 am sessions. On the flip is a more punch but still silky and warmly melodic remix from Mario Liberti before last of all, Gabriel Rai gets darker. His drums hit harder and the synths are moodier as he takes dancers down a late-night path of mystery and intrigue.

Review: After 16 months of pandemic-related hibernation, Kanja offshoot Svemir returns to action with a label debut from former Bass Agenda Recordings and Twilight 76 Records artist Alavux. The talented Serbian is in fine form from the off, with opener 'Kalemegdan' offering a near perfect fusion of crunchy, laidback electro beats, woozy synthesizer chords and picturesque melodies. He and pal Tomi Bojadzi then deliver contrasting mixes of collaborative cut 'Monday', with Bojadzi's warm, melodious and glacial 'live' take being followed by Alavux's bleeping, acid-fired club electro take. Review: Mutual Pleasure clocks up a sixth outing here with more searing electro sounds. Behind the beats is Amadeezy who is from Boston and behind the much-loved trap and dirty south night PVRPLE. He makes plenty of sleazy sounds as demonstrated here on a fun, party-starting EP that is not low on quality. 'Freak Syndrome' (feat partiboi69) kicks off with booty-shaking bass and tight bars while 'Freaky Bitch' is just that with its bumping bottom ends over oversized kick drum funk next to a classic vocal sample. Review: Andreas Werner has released tons of excellent music over the years, mostly under the familiar Audio Werner alias. This, though, is only his second release as Andrew Renew (the first, the minimal house-inclined 'Dark Memories', was released in 2019). It features two superb tracks, both of which combine the sci-fi seeped, star-gazing intent of deep, intergalactic techno, with grooves that shuffle along confidently at a deep house tempo. Our pick of the pair is the ambient techno-tinged trip of 'The Collective Mind', where echoing spoken word vocals seemingly drift above yearning, Mr YT style pads, smooth bass, spacey electronics and unfussy drums. B-side 'Neuro Funk', meanwhile, is a more lilting affair, where Werner's deep and ghostly chords ride a notably warm bassline and crispy drum machine beats.

Review: Manchester's Robbie Mecrow is an acid and electro specialist who is therefore a perfect fit for the interplanetary sounds of Furthur Electronix. This marks his fourth EP on a fourth different label in three years, which might be a slow pace but the music is worth waiting for. There is roomy, IDM inspired atmosphere on 'Spatial Plucks' then more jungle leaning breaks and glistening metallic surfaces on 'Xsd'. The fantastic 'Reconbination' might just be the EP highlight however with its broad bass, twisted drum loops and forlorn sense of mood. 'Rev' (Stack Refix) is an airy, ambient laced closer that suspends you in a techno dreamscape.

The track romanticizes the traditional Middle Eastern dish, Knafeh, through the lens of post-punkish electronics, German rawism, and myriad layering and production. The fact that an artist would go to such great pains to record, master, press and distribute a song with such a niche subject matter truly shows the power of Turkish cuisine. Clearly, even in back the '80s, there was mutual cultural appreciation between the Germans and the Turkish.

Review: Having spent the last 18 months guesting on numerous compilations and multi-artist EPs, rising electro star Arsonist Recorder has finally been given a chance to showcase his wares across an entire vinyl EP. He's grasped the opportunity with both hands, filling his debut outing with club-rocking rhythms, foreboding Drexciyan bass, and similarly mind-altering synthesizer sounds. We're particularly big fans of EP opener "Vaxxer", which feels like a breathless, hyper-speed rush through the farthest reaches of the galaxy, though the deeper, more evocative "Multivers" and fizzing "Shifty" are also top-notch. As debut EPs go, this is pretty darn good.

Review: DJ Scientist aka John Raincoatman's Berlin-baed The Outer Edge label has got another sensational Art Programming release on its hands here. Originally this was the last track on their self-titled 1983 cassette only album on the P.A.P. label. It's basically unknown because it never landed on wax but had it done it would no double be a game changing classic. It's an eight minute opus driven by exhilarating electro breaks and laden with drums and effects that echo the sounds of Detroit. It's a proto-techno track straight out of Bremen that still sounds unique and futuristic today.

Mechatronica welcome them for four more hard hitting jams after their "Vapour Waves" EP on this label got plenty of people talking. These are tunes with an old school feel that will blow up your bass bins and tear apart your tweeters with their mix of low end heaviness and bright melodic patterns. Superbly urgent drum programming sweeps you off your feet and races you through astral skies on "Noise Theory", "Otherwise" has a raggedy-ass broken beat and "Day 1" has a blistering bassline of the highest order.

Review: The seemingly unstoppable rise of De:tuned continues, as they take a break from serving up sci-fi techno, IDM and ambient techno to deliver something a lot more intense: a surprise EP from original House of God Birmingham resident DJ Paul 'Damage' Bailey. Channeling the spirit of his friend Surgeon while offering up something fresh, the two original tracks on show are undeniably inspired. 'Hadal Zone' adds weirdo noises, bleeps and mind-mangling electronic pulses to a slipped Afro-techno groove, while 'Decompression' is a wonky, triple-time workout full of Ket-addled electronics and wayward loops. Makaton re-imagines that track as a locked-in late-night techno throb-job, while James Ruskin turns 'Hadal Zone' into a buzzing, industrial-influenced electro-bleep number.

Review: Martin Matiske's renaissance continues as he delivers another fresh EP as Blackploid for effervescent Sheffield imprint Central Processing Unit. In keeping with the German producer's other recent material, we can hear echoes of his classic, mid-2000s Blackploid material. Strange Stars also continues his interplanetary theme, delivering a quartet of sci-fi powered cuts full of squelchy acid bass, star-fall electronics, Kraftwerkian melodies and beats so crunchy you could probably eat them for breakfast. Our picks of a very strong bunch are probably pulsating opener 'Star Patrol' and the turn-of-the-80s sci-fi movie feel of 'Unseen', but to be honest all four tracks hit the spot.

Review: Argentina born producer and DJ Born has been serving up some fresh sonic treats for three or four years now and here makes the natural next step of starting his own label. Desencanto will become a place to hear Sebastian Rosas Bruno's freshest tackle as exemplified by this first 12" which collides techno, new wave, electro and new beat. Text with the tunes says the EP is the first of many that will "deal with the disillusions of today's world: political, social, economic and also those left by old loves." Concept aside, these are innovative and impactful cuts.

Review: The Partout label turns its attention back to its UK series with a fine four tracker here from Bufo Bufo. The whole thing is steeped in UK sounds with elements of rave never far away. 'Fata Morgana' has a dumpy beat that swings from one foot to the other while old school stabs light up the track from above. 'Hidden Key' ups the ante with a more hard hitting groove and more old school motifs, this time in the bass. 'Two Minutes To Midnight' is the waviest of the lot with sirens going off, rinsing breakbeats and turbo charged bass going deep. 'Elephant's Toothpaste' then cut up a more lumpy groove with bleeps and pulses making it a soothing groove for 5am.

Buraye is the man in the driver's seat and sets his sights on the stars with 'Zydereen De Neptuno' which has zippy synths and snappy snares all weaving in and out of the drums. 'Black Light' then has a more menacing and darker bassline and 'Lead-Acid Mentality' brings the cyborg funk with a punchy beat and snaking bassline keeping you guessing. Review: Savor Music is fast approaching its quarter century but just ahead of that milestone comes another timeless EP from Alexis Cabrera. Everything from Chicago jack to Detroit soul is referenced in these well-crafted and club-ready cuts, starting with the cosmic cruise that is 'Funkhouser'. 'The Next Tomorrow' throws it back to the 80s in its bright synth chords and 'Guitars On The 5th Cloud' sinks into a nice deep and heady mood with its melancholic bassline and skittish synth-guitar sequences panning about the mix over a soft acid gurgle. It's a new imprint from French artist Adrien Calvet who is known for his deeply immersive and soul drenched sounds, often with stylish production and always with a real sense of narrative. This first EP showcases his stripped down electronic house sounds perfectly: there is bump and funk to spaced out opener 'The Archaeologist', broken beat magic in 'The Neurologist' cosmic synth work over slick tech drums on 'The Physicist.' Closer 'The Astrologist' is the most jacked of the lot.

Caramel Chameleon opens up with a couple of tunes that he says are inspired by memories he has of childhood when he would walk on green hills. 'Sugary 2096 (Acid mix)' sure has a nostalgic feel, with its conversational synth leads and subtle acid lines washing over a crisp, punchy electro beat. Mat Carter's own Varial label now has the rights to a proper re-release that will once again have dance floras twisted inside out and back to front. There is a freaky future menace to the paranoid synth and bumping drums of 'Raspmutal' before 'Down Turn' spins out into the cosmos on icy electro rhythms. Review: Oceanic Zones is a brand new album on a brand new label. CCO is the artist and the fledgling label is Silum which is brought to us from the Liechtenstein Alps via Zurich. This is a stylish electro outing with elastic chords and silky pads that all, we are told, explore 'the layers of the sea.' Review: The recently formed Alienist Rec has done a fine job of setting out its sonic stall so far and now the label looks to a pair of artists to take care of one side each of their third 12". Starting things off is promising young Moroccan producer Chaou B with the twitchy disco-techno of 'Instinct' and its flashes of synth light. 'Untitled Groove' is another intergalactic stomper wired up with pixelated leads. It is then season Vienna mainstay DJ Void who takes over with the pulsing and 90s style prog techno of 'Frankfurt Jaam' and bleeping future house funk of 'Transaction'.

Review: Posthuman's Balkan Vinyl imprint is back with a third installment in the Kanlab series. Chevron is at the buttons and on a clear mission to destroy the dance floor with fresh acid explosions. This latest limited 7" starts with 'Manctronix', a manic mix of brutal breakbeats, fizzing acid madness and eerie vocals that are chopped up and well deployed throughout the mix. There is even more of a prickly and unruly texture to 'Unity' which spits out all manner of sounds on a constant basis, never letting you lock in and instead staying firmly on the seat of your pants.

Review: The Spanish Hypnotic Collective label attempts to capture its take on the Detroit Legacy with what looks like a new series of various artists' EP. There is plenty of Motor City soul in the gorgeous synths of Cignol's muted acid and deep house opener 'Distance' which is a soothing and reverential groove, but then its pure party from Barce, Alex Martin offers up 313 style tech and three further tunes on the flip explore blistering electro with high-speed funk and cosmic intent. Mission accomplished and we're already looking forward to the next one.

Review: Those with a deep knowledge of electro and techno will be salivating at the prospect of More Than A Machine: Part 1, an EP that boasts cuts from such legends of the scene as Sterac Electronics, The Advent and Christian Smith. All deliver the goods, of course, as does rising star Client 03, whose EP-opening 'Regression Container' brilliantly flips between shimmering, deep space ambient and warming, tactile electro dreaminess. Those looking for more rugged and robust club fare should check Sterac Electronics 'Reinstated', with its' out-there lead lines and machine-gun bass, and the sleazy, up-tempo futurism of the Adveny and Zein Ferreira's 'Seven'. Christian Smith's deep, Kraftwerk-influenced 'Pressure Drop' rounds off a predictably strong EP.

Review: Watch yer bassbins, Club Winston is back with another loud n' lairy bit of wub for his wickedly named UKGEORGE label. This is club pressure that's as serious as it is silly, boiling garage and rave tropes down for maximum efficiency and celebrating the limitless joy of a wobbly bassline. "Blurt" keeps things raw and direct, stomping at a nifty tempo and teasing the tension and release with the simplest of ingredients. "Reject" on the flip has a sweeter vibe, using little touches of melody to create a mellower mood but not at the expense of the all-important low end.

Review: Fancy another trip to Fantastic Planet? We do, and this third one is the best yet. It finds Robert as your sonic host and laying down four cuts of techno that is designed to twist you inside out. 'Cat Shits In The Snow' is a disgusting title but a fantastic tune - electro-tinged techno tautness with snappy snares and wonky synth leads. 'Track 2' brings a haunting sense of late-night intrigue with its eerie leads and rolling linear drums and then the flip gets more freaky with the thumping and textured intensity of 'Mask 001' and sinewy electronic collisions of 'Mask 002'.

Review: Colossio and Luke Garcia combine on this new EP for Microcastle and offer up a mix of solo and collaborative cuts. Musically, techno is the foundation sound here but is explored far and wide. Colossio gets things underway with 'Amen' which is all fizzing pads and buzzy synths over tough drums. Luke Garcia's 'Ryen' is then an explosive mix of strobe lit and peak time tackle with writing lines and freeform energy. Then the pair combine for 'Situation' which is more white knuckle techno and finally 'My Body' which is a dark industrial cut for tense moments.

Review: Much is made of the love that Bill Converse from Austin, Texas, has for classic music making hardware (as opposed to the computer-based solutions most find convenient these days), but at the end of the day it's the results he gets rather than the means that have cemented his reputation as one of the most interesting names operating in the US today. This six track selection is no exception, suitably freed-up from convention or restriction and executed with a radioactive excitement that shines directly out of the grooves. Check the rapid fire snares of 'The Last Time', the eerie, horn-like screeches of 'Measurement (Of What?)' or 'Take Apart', with its ascending Detroit-style bassline, for further proof, or just dive in and enjoy the whole lot.

Review: Back in May, the first multi-artist missive from the freshly launched Hearse label sold out in no time at all. We have a feeling that this similarly formatted follow-up will go the same way. '90s survivor Cosmic Force kicks things off in style via the raw, angular riffs, spacey melodies, vocoder vocals and punchy electro rhythms of "Suckers Divide", before Manasyt takes us into industrial electro territory on the fuzzy and breathless "Sister Ping". Over on side B, Secret State ups the tempo on the undeniably Drexciyan "Dominant Narrative", while Brassica peppers a high-octane rhythm track with dystopian noises and malfunctioning computer electronics on killer closing cut "0898666420".

Review: After a superb repress of the Volvo Una Hit Italo classic, Bottin's Cristalli Liquidi project is back and this time in cahoots with French-Italiano electro pair Deux Control which is Justine Forever and Rodion. They have cooked up a selection of versions of 'Rosso Carnale' which, we understand, lyrically touches on the colour red and the gentle carnal forces of nature sung in Italian. There is a sped-up version from Bottin, a sparse mix from Deux Control and standout Mutant version with tougher drums but nice silky dub chords and a bright Italo version full of 80s synth nostalgia.

Review: Hypno Disco has us well and truly locked again on its third release. The artist, Cryounik, remains mysterious but the music itself says plenty, though: it is futuristic electro with cyborg funk and plenty of paranoid vibes as if the robots are taking over. First up is 'OAP' with its glistening synths and corrugated basslines. 'Crystal Clear' then layers up percolating synths that rise ever higher over ducking and diving bass. There is a serenity to 'Listen List' that is offset by the ragged bass and then EP highlight 'Matik 3' has a broken beat, bust synths and twitching pads for the ultimate dance floor workout.
