Review: Nigh on 18 months have passed since his incredible "Mute City" EP on LuckyMe and Cid Rim finally delivers the good stuff once again, this time for Austrian label Affine. Both "Charge" and "Kano" are as lush, velvety and textured as you'd hope. The former plays with the concept of moment before opening out into a star-burst of colour and drums. The latter subverts this with synth textures that wouldn't go amiss on an Underground Resistance record 15 years ago. Then we tumble into the drop where life gets so Technicolour you'll want an all-over lumo skin tattoo for life. Check Jameszoo's remix for something a bit more twisted and darker.
