Review: A new year and a new Battle this time with a friendly French-German confrontation between Dave DK & Holger R Zilske on one side, and Autuori on the other side. As you are all aware Dave recently released a superb album on Moodmusic. Pairing with Holger Zilske (of Smash TV fame) he delivers 'Detox', one of those infectious stripped-down groover that is already working its magic on many a sound-system. Autuori retains all the groove but takes the track into hallucinogenic after-hours territories. It’s the Panorama Zombies freaky dance. For those who might not already know him from the Poker Flat vol 5 compilation, Philippe Autuori is a talented DJ and producer hailing from Montpellier (South of France).

Review: Battle presents a new release from Lanoiraude. After numerous releases on his own imprint he releases 'Mechanical Traction' the first extract from his up and coming album, this single also includes a wicked Todd Sines remix.

Review: All the cool vocals and vintage sounds are still there, but the original is turned into a driving dancefloor groover for dark and sweaty clubs.

Review: Battle brings you Partial Arts vs Tim Paris with 'Cruising'. The original tracks from Tim Paris and Partial Arts had received incredible support from the likes of all the big cats around the world (from L. Garnier to Chris Duckenfield to Jef K....). This new set of remixes should definitely go the same path. The A-side sees Tim turn an after hours belter, a slow building and hypnotic track, while B-side sees Partial Arts keepin' it tweaked and funky with breaks.

Review: Back with a slamming new Battle 12inch, 'All Good?' its none other than Sasse vs Naughty. As you all know, those guys have been causing serious dancefloor damage for many years. Recently they graced our friends at Crack&Speed with a mean slice of vinyl, Sasse's Moodmusic celebrated its 10 years in style and Naughty released an excellent EP on the very same Moodmusic: can't stop, won't stop.

Review: For those who thought these remixes would never see the light of day, let me tell you something: they're hot! The a-side features Swag's "Hot gloves", remixed By Bakazou (aka Pete Herbert). Pete's on fire right now and he came up with an awesome Italo-disco monster. It's like an Apollo space ship - it gets higher and higher and when the original bassline is finally released people go crazy. Tried and tested on discerning crowds. The b-side is equally good, albeit in a different way. Swag's "Hot Shoe Shuffle Dub" sounds like those fantastic hypnotic disco dub mixes straight outta 80's NYC. So put on your dancing shoes and get down to the boogie sound!

Review: After their storming remix of Instant Noodles' Decibel Magic, SWAG are back on Battle, this time for a real confrontation, with Bakazou (aka Pete Herbert). Pete has been producing his excellent disco, Balearic-tinged material under such aliases as Reverso 68, Frontera, (both with Phil Mison), Cuica, Bakazou and Optimus for the likes of Hi-Phen, Gomma and Eskimo to name a few. SWAG go electro disco for a monster groover with a DFA style bassline and a firm SWAG stomp. On the other side of the ring, Bakazou (aka Pete Herbert) offers the groovy disco funk action on a more 70s/80s flavoured tip, complete with guitars, moustaches and tailor-suited caballeros driving flashy sports cars - Class! now.....fight!

Review: Ladies and gentlemen, here's the new Battle release, "100". Please welcome another fine combination of beat makers: Thugfucker Vs Gwen Maze! On my left, Greg Oreck and Holmar Filipsson (aka Thugfucker) have written club tracks that have the power to make you dance and laugh at the same time - not an easy feat by modern day standards. Today they're fighting against Gwen Maze. His work could be described as driving and bassy club music with cunning lyrics and a real sensitivity for live instrumentation. Be ready for the fight! Expect deep, Balearic, minimal, hypnotic, funky, addictive music. Yes, all these adjectives apply to this great slice of modern clubbing material.
