Review: After several years of mysterious releases, it was eventually established that Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland were the driving forces behind the Hype Williams project. The duo has since claimed that they have "passed the baton on" and that Rainbow Edition, the project's first "official" full-length for some time, is the work of other producers and musicians. Whether it is or not is a moot point; the album itself explores many of Blunt's musical obsessions and its structure mirrors the producer's recent mixtape style efforts with Babyfather. Musically, it's predictably schizophrenic and eccentric, with the mystery combo's blazed beats variously touching on stadium rock, shoegaze, weirdo electronica and more pastoral, picturesque sounds.
