Review: Shed dwelling funkateer Daytoner has been surreptitiously priming us for this monumental third album moment throughout the year with cheeky 45s "Needed You" and "Second Stomp". Now the moment has landed and it's every bit as varied, infectious and feel-good as we hoped it would be. Highlights include the Brand New Heavies style slink new jazz of "Pacific", the Labi-sampling strutter "I Get By", the sweaty stomping northern soul jam "Needed You" and the big swing sing-along "Sicka". And that's not even half of it.... He didn't name it Off The Hook for nothing.

Review: Daytoner have got a new album on the way and we can't wait, but before that the group serve up this sizzling new funk single. This crew are well experienced and have travelled far and wide, taking their funk and soul sound to the UK's greatest stages over the last five years. The album was written in isolation during the lockdown and this new pair of singles is a great taster - 'Time' and 'Keep It Moving' both feature lead singer Lucy's fresh vocals as she muses on the importance of time spent with family and friends. The funk-fuelled brass and breaks keep both tunes vibing.
