Review: Switzerland based label Drumpoet Community is grabbing the attention of the deep house world at the moment, following a string of impressive releases. Next up is the Zurich based duo, Azuni, whose "Here You Come EP" stands as a clear example of why the label is enjoying so much success lately.

Gianni Siravo and Sven Lacoste have both been around individually for some time. However, it is as the joined force of Azuni that they have enjoyed the most recognition. 2008's debut album, City Look, released on Agnès' Sthlmaudio imprint introduced the duo to the house world in style. Now, their debut release on Drumpoet Community is looking to propel them further into the limelight with two big, groovy tracks of Detroit influenced house that are stripped down to the max.

"Here You Come" sees simple and pumping grooves build from the ever present riff. It twists and turns in hypnotic fashion, with swirling melodies cushioned by warm synthesizer pads. The hushed vocal takes you straight back inside the warehouses of early days of Detroit, completing that authentic old school sound that resides throughout this record. "Believe's" vocal is from a similar vein. At first it stabs away in disjointed fashion, but as the track builds it develops into full lines of speech. The track is a slower, jacking number, once again built around a simple riff. The two note organ motif keeps the simplicity and the deep kick drum adds the bumping house sound that lends itself to the earlier part of the night where the dancefloor begins to build nicely.

As Drumpoet Community's reputation for quality house continues to grow, so too does Azuni's production talents. If the "Here You Come EP" is anything to go by, we can be sure that there is plenty more to come from both label and artist.

Review: In just four releases Brame has managed to land himself solo releases on Morris Audio, Dirt Crew and Drumpoet Community, which speaks volumes for the quality of his deep house wares. It's the latter that he returns to for round two, finding fresh form with the sublime and soothing tones of "Vinyl Cut" and the edgier thrust of "Absent". The standout track on the EP is the title jam, which takes a more progressive route as swirling melodies weave a mystical message around the heads down drum lines, leaving plenty of room for delectable techy stabs to inject some mechanised soul into the tune in its later stages.

Review: Brand new joint venture of Compost and Zurich's Drumpoet Community (run by Tobi Foster, Ron Shiller and ex-Straight Ahead honchos Alex Dallas & Alex Gustafson). Three tracks of high definition house, rave funk & b-boy tech. The aim is to release the finest electronic music with a touch of soul and a strong need to rock the dancefloors on a deeper level. Music with attitude, personality and an individual approach. Foster is a young and talented producer of the drumpoet.community. He released his first 12" two years ago on Sonar Kollektiv. Afterwards he remixed various people like Alessandroni, and Big Clap. He's also part of the promising Soultourist Collective. The first 12" on dpc is a deep and emotive journey into the world of synths, drum-machines and other engines. With his musicality he produces a very touching and emotional vibe, which can easily be seen as soulful techno-influenced music. There are not many people who can combine soulful harmonies with an almost minimal and electronic dancetrack like he does. This is what makes it original and very personal. The track "loud minority" is dedicated to Alex Dallas's Loud Minority Residency in Zurich's great Club Dachkantine, which closed down and was a home for great guests such as Carl Craig, Pepe Bradock, Juan Atkins, Metro Area, Herbert and Maurice Fulton to name just a few. They all inspired us to create music which incorporates all our beloved music and combine different style elements for a fresh and maybe even a typical Zurich sound. With "Dessert" you can fade away and feel the ability of Foster to take you into his simple, but at the same time very sophisticated form of musical expression. "Kanona" does what the title suggests. There are many things to say about this record but there's nothing better than listening to it.

Review: Second time round for the much-loved "Ways Of The Sun", Frankey and Sandrino's 2015 collaboration with vocalist La Oberg. This time, there's no original mix to admire, but rather a quartet of fresh remixes. Jimi Jules steps up first, wrapping dubbed-out synth splashes and La Oberg's evocative vocal around a loose and languid dub disco-meets-deep house groove, before Peter Kruder re-imagines the track as an acid bass-propelled chunk of analogue deep house goodness. Over on side B, Manuel Fischer dishes up a sunrise-ready organic tech-house take while Armitage slams down a loopy and hypnotic peak-time revision that subtly builds throughout.
