Review: By now everyone must surely be familiar with the premise of Easy Star All Stars, the crack team of reggae players who turn their hand to iconic albums and give them a thorough dubbing. They've done Dark Side Of The Moon, Sgt. Pepper and Radiohead, and now it's time for Bowie to get reggaefied by the best in the business. Ziggy Stardub is exactly as you would hope, taking songs so perfectly written they port into reggae and dub with spectacular results. Like an old friend you never knew you had, you'll sink into these versions without any difficulty whatsoever, Easy Star style.

Review: Easy Star All Stars are known for their dub versions of the pinnacle of classic rock albums out there - think Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Beatles and Michael Jackson. Their latest project, though, is Ziggy Stardub, which you could probably guess is a tribute to the late David Bowie and his alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Produced by Michael Goldwasser, the All Stars reinterpret some of Bowie's most renowned songs in a highly effected dub style, remaining respectful to the original while producing a slew of homages: the likes of 'Five Years', 'All The Young Dudes' and 'Starman', as well as non-hits such as 'Suffragette City', not to mention four new dub versions. The All Stars make evident their love and admiration for Bowie's music, to the extent that we think you couldn't have made this LP without a genuine Bowiemania held in your heart.

Review: Samory I, one of Jamaica's most promising reggae artists to watch, releases his eagerly-awaited solo debut album Strength. The LP follows Black Gold, his 2017 collaborative album with the iconic producer Rory 'Stonelove' Gilligan. Named after Samory I's affectionate moniker for his son, Strength is an 11-track storied opus produced by esteemed Jamaican producer Winta James, whose credits include hits with Protoje, Chronixx and Damian Marley. Samory I said the LP represents "the struggles I've overcome, both mentally and physically." Growing up in Kencot, a rougher neighborhood in Kingston, Jamaica, he faced many adversities and found reggae music as a form of salvation. He used his voice as both an instrument and vehicle for social change in his community. The album is a true reflection of its title, proving that courage and love prevails above all.
