Review: The Anglo Germanic rulers of peak time clubbing known individually as Erol and Alex revisit one of their most lysergic collaborations, "Avalanche". Enlisting the distinctive, velvety tones of Jarvis Cocker, they look to Leonard Cohen for inspiration with the Pulp front man reciting the lyrics from the iconic songsmith's track of the same name over the Alkan & Ridha production. Thrillingly, Phantasy have elected to split remix duties for the track between the old guard and the new - with Ewan Pearson and Canblaster both excelling. Pearson's Deeper Underground re-version is worthy of the sweat filled Berlin basements the producer no doubt spends the weekends he's not gigging in, whilst the accompanying remix from Club Cheval's resident Legowelt lookalike is every bit as demented and intricately layered as the original Canblaster material that has surfaced to date. Nice white vinyl and PVC sleeve too!

Review: If this heavy-hitting collection of previously unreleased cuts was meant as a kind of Ed Banger relaunch, it more than achieves its stated aim. Curated and mixed together by label bosses Busy P and DJ Mehdi, Let The Children Techno! is a joyous romp through rainbow-coloured dancefloor pastures. From start to finish, it exudes a smiley confidence that's truly infectious. With established names queuing up to offer bold, brash and occasionally brilliant contributions, it's packed with quality gear. From the disco-flecked dubstep-pop of Skream's "Boat Party" and hip-hop bounce of Busy P's "Procrastinator" to the shimmering beauty of Flying Lotus, bowel-bothering thump of Riton and tongue-in-cheek electro-funk of Breakbot, it oozes fun from start to finish.

Review: Carte Blanche, for those who don't know, is Riton and DJ Mehdi. As a duo they get together and make super fun housey electro you can dance to; the formula is simple and wonderfully effective. Here we see their Black Billionaires EP remixed by Green Velvet and Laidback Luke - head straight for the chunky peak time thud of Green Velvet's remix of "Gare Du Nord2 for Juno's pick of the bunch - while there's a new original cut ("Politrix As Usual") included for good measure.

Review: Occasionally a remix comes along that just seems perfect. This remix of Connan Mockasin's "Faking Jazz Together" by Michael Mayer most definitely falls into this category, the Kompakt boss expertly retaining the idiosyncrasies of Mockasin's track but melding them with a truly sumptuous arrangement. At eight minutes long it still feels like it could go on forever without losing any of its enchanting warmth and impact. The Phantasy Sound label has scored some really interesting releases and remixers to date, but Mayer's remix can be considered a true highlight. Worth the price alone, Phantasy include an extended version of the original's psychedelic cocktail jazz refrain on this clear yellow twelve inch along with a remix from The Horrors' Tom Furse. Whilst not close to the heights of Mayer's remix, Furse does a fine job of retaining the rattling sensation of the original whilst rewiring the mainframe with EBM overtones.

Review: French producer Feadz recently popped up with a stellar if somewhat under-appreciated offering on the Modeselektion compilation, and returns here to the Ed Banger stable with the T.U.F.F EP. The 8-tracks on offer include guest appearances from German electro connoisseur Boys Noize and Night Slug L-Vis 1990, with the Kavinsky-esque "Dial A Tool", epic synth workout "Four Sight" and L-Vis 1990-featuring"We Got Them" among the highlights. Review: It's entirely typical of Pepe Bradock that the French producer's first original material in several years should arrive with little prior warning. Since arriving on the house circuit in the late 90s, the Parisian has cultivated an enigmatic presence thanks to a paucity of releases and a disinterest in the self promotional circus that has consumed his peers. This of course hasn't stopped him getting collared for countless excellent remixes over the years, thus adding to the cult of Pepe. A four part Imbroglios series commences in supreme style here, with Bradock's unique production style shining through from the opening bars of "Katoucha?" which accrues all new levels of mind bending texture as it progresses. Few other producers would think to actually sample a cat purring or indeed succeed like Bradock does on the intoxicatingly off kilter "Inconsequent Pussy", and the remainder of the EP is an equally rewarding fusion of eccentric sounds and quirky rhythmic swing.

Review: Having conquered the world only to go into the deepest hibernation imaginable, Justice are finally back with us - following the release of their second album and the King Crimson-esque, time-signature switching, poodle rock of "Civilisation" with latest single "Audio Video Disco". It sees the French duo go from one extreme to the other - playing things with a soft touch by evoking Stereolab's chorus harmonies to a beat that reminds instantly of Joe Jackson's "Stepping Out" or even "Far From Over" by Frank Stallone (a track that regularly finds its way into their DJ sets). "Helix" however is instantly recognisable as a Justice beat, and a pretty damn good one at that as a sackful of guitar overdubs are piled on top of a punchy midtempo beat with a breakdown to die for.

Review: Long running French imprint Ed Banger unleash this monolithic twelve inch from figureheads Justeeece which features remixes from messrs Alkan, Tiga and Brodi. "On & On" is the latest track to be taken from Justice's long awaited and opinion splitting second LP Audio Video Disco and is perhaps the best example of the sort of prog rock meets 21st Century gallic electro they were aiming for. The accompanying Brodinski remix naturally sheds the proggier elements for an expertly wound up main room electro revision, whilst the flip sees modern day DJ superstars Erol and Tiga rework "Canon". The presence of both demonstrate that Justice still retain a certain cache amongst their peers and both remixes will find favour amongst those who prefer their remixes to be on the disjointed, maximal side.

Review: Ed Banger present this 10" accoutrement to the main event that is Justice getting the remix treatment from Erol, Tiga et al, though there is plenty to admire here - not least the genius commission of iconic rap impresario Rick Rubin to remix "On & On". The track itself can be viewed as Xavier & Gaspard's most accomplished melding of throwback prog rock and 21st century Gallic electro from their opinion splitting second LP Audio Video Disco. Ed Banger's visual force So Me unveils his new production outfit Video Village, lending the track a softer synth pop edge reminiscent of Air circa Moon Safari, but it is the flipside endeavours of Rubin that truly impress though. Turning in one of his trademark "Ruined" efforts, the bearded don realigns the track to a bass hugging boom bap rhythm that is truly revelatory.

Review: Mr Flash, the man responsible for Ed Banger's debut release, unleashes another crucial single from his sophomore album Sonic Crusader. All slinky guitar licks, big synth stabs and soothing vocals from Surahn, it tiptoes the fine line between deep disco and Balearic bliss. Remix-wise Jon Convex presses the tech-funk button while Margot sends us straight up the clouds with a beautiful arpeggiated synth riff and dreamily spacious kicks. Hungry for more?
