The Brigade EP
Cat: FUSE 029. Rel: 31 Jan 18

Minimal/Tech House
Brigade (7:29)
Serious (7:30)
Eight (Vinyl Only) (7:23)
Review: More tough rolling tech house on the minimal tip from London based heroes FUSE and a true staple of their imprint: Rich NxT. Beginning with the funked up functionalism of "Brigade" and its hip-hop house samples throughout, which is then followed on the B side by the release standout in the form of "Serious" with its catchy vocal samples atop - possibly from an old Italo or even pop record. This sunny festival inspired cut will appeal to other cheeky and likeminded DJ tools by the likes of Kirik - or anything on ODE, really. Next up, he gets back to the program on the bangin' and swing fuelled party jam "Fight" which will really get the hands in the air down at Hearn Street car park this Summer. In addition to around half a dozen releases for the imprint thus far, NxT's also found time to release on Germany's Pleasure Zone and Hund as well as his eponymous white label imprint.

What's In The Box EP
Cat: FUSE 016. Rel: 01 Apr 15

Minimal/Tech House
Defy (7:00)
My Love (Vinyl Only) (5:38)
Twang (6:13)
Cannonball (6:01)
Review: It's a welcome return to FUSE for one of the London institution's main players in Rich NXT with What's In The Box (Seven reference anyone?) his first full release for the label in almost a year. Deep and dubby is how "Defy" rolls, a track largely defined by its playful keys, fizzing textures, and non-stop crisp groove, whilst the vinyl only "My Love" is a much more stripped back affair with the occasional vocal sample adding colour to a sparse production. On the B-side, "Twang" throws some Chi-town keys into the mixer before deviating into a rubbery sound that no doubt informed the title and "Cannonball" closes out the record with six minutes of minimal house brimming with atmosphere.

The Wasteline EP
Cat: FUSE 012. Rel: 16 Apr 14

Minimal/Tech House
Wasteline
Instate
Wasteline (Enzo Siragusa & Alexkid Kilimanjaro remix)
Daybreak (vinyl only)
Review: Already one of the core residents at London club FUSE, Rich NxT is equally marking his stamp on their affiliated record label with this 12" the DJ and producer's fourth release with them. There's a pleasant sense of development in Rich NxT's sound apparent on the Waistline EP, a confidence demonstrated across all three of his original productions. The title track is a good example, using few elements wisely across it's seven minutes - crisp percussion, subtle yet effective basslines, well implemented vocal effects all combine with hypnotic results. Do check the Enzo Siragusa & Alexkid remix of "Waistline" under their acclaimed Kilimanjaro project, which adds both warmth and a punchy beat to proceedings.

The Four Slip EP
The Four Slip EP (heavyweight vinyl 12")
Cat: FUSE 036. Rel: 17 Jun 19

Minimal/Tech House
E3 (7:56)
Bubbles (7:10)
Review: London's FUSE returns with more expertly curated tech house by two of the scene's major players: label staple Rich NxT and Eastenderz honcho East End Dubs. A side houses the tripped-out, tough rolling bounce of "E3" with its squelchy stabs, booming sub bass and swing-fuelled rhythms while on the flip, a fierce banger in the form of "Bubbles" which will no doubt get the crowd moving with its heady 303 acid, airy chords and locked-in drums. Note: drop at 7AM for maximum impact.

Five 3
Five 3 (12")
Cat: FUSE5P 3. Rel: 26 Oct 16

Minimal/Tech House
Rich Nxt - "Badass" (6:55)
Odd & Rossko - "Jabba The Hut" (8:06)
Archie Hamilton - "Cirrus" (6:44)
Sam Bellis - "Solstrole" (7:12)
Review: The FUSE London crew are back everyone, look out! Bringing the sound of their legendary daytime raves to us again and getting straight down to business on Enzo Siragusa's third edition of 5 are label mainstays Rich NxT (with the rolling and adrenalised "Badass") and the always impressive OdD aka Damian Daley & Danny Dixon joined by newcomer Rossko (making his production debut) on the rolling hypnotism of "Jabba The Hut". On the flip is Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton (another mainstay of the label) with the woozy and tripped out after hours deepness of "Cirrus" and the Deep End Soundsystem affiliated Sam Bellis with the gutsy acid driven "Solstrole".

Gophers In The Cupboard EP
Cat: FUSE 005. Rel: 05 Jul 12

Minimal/Tech House
Eyes Wide Open
Eyes Won't Stay Shut
Eyes Wide Open (Alex Arnout & Enzo Siragusa remix)
Review: Aiming to make a name for themselves with an individual approach powered by a unique roster of artists, Fuse London are clearly enamoured with the hypnotic sounds of minimal, not least on the sinister stylings of the lead track from Rich NXT and Seb Zito. "Eyes Wide Open" is dominated by a thin but oppressive bassline, while the space around is peppered with disembodied sound effects and forlorn samples. "Eyes Won't Stay Shut" adds a little funk into the mix and expands upon that aforementioned bassline, but still the overall feeling is a very stripped back one. As such Alex Arnout and Enzo Siragusa's remix sounds positively full-fat, letting the drums flesh out and working some noticeable melodic content into the mix.

Fusic Volume 3
Cat: FUSE 009. Rel: 30 May 13

Minimal/Tech House
Enzo Siragusa & Sebzito - "Sweet"
Rich NxT - "Spell"
Dan Lively - "Regardless"
Ittetsu - "The Anchor"
Review: The latest offering from London's Fuse crew sees the regular contributors of the label's inner circle once more reaching into their coffers for a selection of stripped, tracky tech house jams built with a long stint in the club in mind. Siragusa and Sebzito's "Sweet" revolves around a thick, warm pad that runs through the gaps between the crisp house beat, and Rich NX T uses artfully placed vocal samples to provide the hook in his own jam. Dan Lively has a subtle dose of dub about the central pulsing hook in his own "Regardless", and Ittetsu goes straight for the kill with a dry drum workout.
