Buffalo Message (Traumer remix)
Buffalo Message
Review: Gettraum presents the Love Machine EP, a collaboration of husband and wife duo The Magic Olives which is comprised of Alexis & Jennifer Cabrera. Discover the couple's latest sound explorations, designed for the summer season and accompanied by a stellar rework from the label head. The title track is a slinky and hypnotic tech house workout featuring a lovely vocal line, while over on the flip the quirky minimal shuffle of 'Buffalo Message' receives a truly pumping remix by Traumer that's optimised for the main room dancefloor.

Distopic (7:28)
Distopic (Jinger remix) (6:56)
Stereo Eyes II (8:19)
Distopic (Traumer Dusty dub) (6:37)
Review: Traumer's ever-astute label curation comes to the forefront once again as Priku and Dinu team up for a standout release drawing on their talents in the field of minimal tech house. 'Distopic' leads the way as a crafty hint towards the strutting energy of disco within a focused techno framework, not so much a minimal workout as a lean slice of four-to-the-floor synth pressure. 'Stereo Eyes II' keeps up the energy, but this time there's a mystical, sundown set vibe at play which conjures the early Goa scene as much as any influence. For remixes, Singer was invited to remix 'Distopic' and turn it into a bumping, dubby joint, while Traumer dials the track in deep for a perfectly described 'Dusty Dub'.

Sepp - "Recognize That" (8:07)
Nu Zau - "I See You" (Traumer remix) (6:19)
Nu Zau - "I See You" (8:29)
Review: Nu Zau & Sepp return to Gettraum after previously featuring on the label's recent compilation, this time with more of their groovy tech house sounds. Sepp kicks off with 'Recognize That' which pairs acid-tinged synths with thumping drums and some nice analogue percussive clatter. On the flip, Nu Zau's 'I See You' is a balmy, breezy cut with dubby low ends, silvery tech drums and nice fractured vocals stretched throughout the mix next to happy melodies. The label head Traumer steps up to remix and flips this one into a deeper, more heads-down cut for the late-night hours.

Lucea (15:27)
Left Behind (8:04)
Catimini (6:47)
Review: Paris' Trauma is back and he means business, served in the most minimalistic of techno ways. This release marks the third release of his own label, the sleek Gettraum, and we have to admit that it's pretty refreshing to hear this sort of minimal techno being made right now, as the majority of the genre's output can so often sound stale and regurgitated. Luckily, tracks like "Lucea" or "Catimini" sound like Villalobos at his most intricate, while others like "Left Behind" are the closest we've heard minimal come to dub, and we just love that rootikal kinda stance from a dance tune...

Espala (15:30)
Smoravi (6:39)
Parallax (7:46)
Review: Hot on the heels of his "A Gonna Get" white label earlier this year comes the fourth GETTRAUM instalment from the man himself. As always, it's a loose-limbed, barbed-groove affair throughout as we're tickled and stimulated by his balance of organic and processed sounds and manipulations. "Espala" tips its hat to the Spanish with isolated nylon-stringed samples, plucked and defined around a thick chugging groove. "Smoravi" continues the hot-string theme as flamenco fire cascades over a broken drum groove while "Parallax" closes the EP with a sermon of latent sunrise that slowly peeps above the jacking drum parapet. As always with Poncet, this one is a keeper.

Last Minute (6:25)
Madame
Madame (Rave mix) (7:07)
Review: Roman Poncet really found his groove on the Traumer project, which now presents the fourth edition in the Gettraum Hors Serie. Features the rave energy of 'Last Minute' on the A side, followed by two versions of the sensual 'Madame' which are more familiar of the French producer's percussive tech house sound. The Main mix is ultra deep and dubby, and makes perfect tackle for the warm-up or afterhours alike, while the Rave mix does exactly what it says on the tin in classic Northern bleep style, infused with swing-fuelled rhythms.

Solace (9:50)
Le Mont (7:18)
Hidden Quarter (6:12)
Review: With the praise he received for the recent Mezon EP on All Inn Records still ringing in his ears, Romain "Traumer" Reynaud has decided to fire up his GETTRAUM label for the first time in 2018. He begins in confident fashion, wrapping dusty, music box style melodies and spacey electronics around a chunky, bass-heavy tech-house groove on A-side "Solace". Reynaud opts to combine more traditional tech-house sounds with the organ-sporting pressure of classic U.S garage on "Le Mont", before sticking a funk rocket under the contemporary Parisian tech-house sound on luscious late night box jam "Hidden Quarter".

Exercise (6:06)
Pago (6:36)
Bassomatic (6:20)
Brocomania (6:09)
Review: Somewhat surprisingly, two years has passed since Traumer launched the "Gettraum Hors Series" of ultra-limited, hand-stamped singles. We're not quite sure why the French producer - real name Romain Reynaud - has held back volume two, but we're happy to say that it's been well worth the wait. He hits the ground running with "Exercise", a sun-soaked chunk of tech-house funk built around jaunty stabs, glistening chords and a thickset synth bassline, before reaching for sub-heavy analogue bass, rolling drums and more sparkling electronics on the similarly positive sounding "Pago". Over on side B, "Bassomatic" is an acid-fired slammer shot through with sneaky audio references to turn of the '90s "bleep and bass", while gorgeous closing cut "Brocomania" wraps attractive dub techno motifs and ambient chords around warm bass and bustling breakbeats.

Express (6:47)
Engage (6:47)
Quanta (8:52)
Review: Gettraum's eighth outing is another high class voyage into sleek and seductive tech house. The ever prolific label boss Romain Reynaud AKA Traumer is once again the man in charge of the music and as always he manages to mine new ground. 'Express' opens with powerful tech house funk that is carefully detailed with breathy female vices so as not to get too abstract. 'Engage' is similar but a little more dark and likely to get those teeth gritted. Last of all, 'Quanta' explores headier sounds, with zoned out grooves and nice watery pads floating up top. These always sell out, so don't hang about.

Proxy (6:34)
Orgorama (6:23)
Fiebre (8:07)
Review: By his usually prolific standards, 2019 has been a relatively quiet year for Romain Reynaud AKA Traumer. Even so, this is his second "Hors Serie" release of the year on the Gettraum label he's been running since 2016. The A-side boasts two rather fine attractions: the undulating, organ-sporting tech-house funk of "Proxy" - one of his most attractive and musically addictive cuts in some time - and the jauntier, slightly more intergalactic bounce of "Orgorama", where Jaydee style organ stabs and spacey synths rise above crunchy beats and hooking bass. Turn to the flip for "Fiebre", a slightly more unusual but no less warm and funky affair that wraps breathy female vocal samples, bongo fills and a Latin-influenced electric piano melody around a tactile, retro-futurist groove.

Full Service (7:24)
Waiting For The Sun (6:10)
Whiskey Roll (10:14)
Review: Somewhat surprisingly, this four-track affair not only marks Romain "Traumer" Reynaud's first release of 2019, but also the first missive of his GETTRAUM label for 10 months. Happily he's in fine form throughout, flitting between the skittish, jazz-flecked tech-house drums and fuzzy, lo-fi synth melodies of insatiable opener "Full Service" and the sunrise soundscapes and hypnotic, glitch-fired, Yoyaku style drums of sublime closing cut "Whiskey Roll". Sandwiched in between is "Waiting For The Sun", a breakbeat-driven affair that strengthens Reynaud's reputation as one of the world's top exponents of fuzzy, body moving tech-house funk.
