Review: Californian group The Samps are back. Cole M. G. N is joined by J. Darrah and Harland Burkhart on their genre bending debut album. Having released previously on imprints like Mexican Summer and Big Love Records, Breakfast is served by Nite Jewel's Gloriette Records. The dozen or so tracks across the album span a vast trajectory of electronic music styles such as funk, hip-hop/R&B and soul. A vibrant and almost psychedelic musical journey in the tradition of The Avalanches with its meticulous sample heavy approach. Cole M. Greif-Neill is a Grammy Award winning producer that has worked for artists including Beck, Snoop Dogg, DaM-FunK, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Christine & The Queens, as well as being a member of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti.
