Review: Drrtyhaze are Drilla (aka Haze and Mr. Drrty) from the Lower East Side/New York City. They are a new act on the German Gomma label and the "Voodoo" EP is their first release. Till now they are mostly known for their parties in New York and for DJing their very own dirty Drrtyhaze style. The A-side is kind of a hymn to the place where they live: the Lower East Side. Review: In a career that stretches over 20 years Belgian duo The Glimmers have done it all. Annoyed the Rolling Stones; put out countless twelves and albums on their own Diskomo imprint and others; curated compilations for the likes of Eskimo, DJ Kicks and Fabric; helped form electroclash via their eclectic sets and lived to tell the stories. Whomp That Sucker, the latest album from the duo marks a belated appearance on Gomma, one of the few labels that haven't been graced by the Glimmers magic (a Phenomenal Handclap Band remix aside). Recorded in conjunction with close pal Ray Mang, David & Mo Glimmers set the tone with the opening track "Patty Cake Online", a thunderous combination of turbo charged percussion, multi faceted analogue effects and a sinewy bassline. The accompanying press release from Gomma urges the listener to play this album loud and such advice should be followed as the raw sensation of tracks such as "U Rocked My World" and "Killing Jokes" is best experienced when you can feel the bass throbbing away in your guts. Visceral unadulterated dance music at its finest.

Review: Imagine Neon Neon teamed up with Justice. Imagine they made a track and got it remixed by WhoMadeWho. That's as close as you can get to "Road Less Travelled" in terms of references; catchy, poppy but ballsy enough for the floor, the Swedish act have nailed this very precise sonic science. Remix-wise Kaos & Sonns strip the vibe back and lay down a whole heap of acid while Still Going brings the vocal to the fore and backs it up with a firing electro riff. Timelessly epic.

Review: LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean muse Nancy Whang heads to the north of England to create two consummate disco covers. First up is a cover of Dennis Parker's "Like An Eagle", a track that gave us one of house music's most timeless vocal samples. Audiojack's beats are a space-aged carpet ride into the furthest of cosmoses while Nancy's voice wafts dreamily in and out of the modulations. Next up; collaboration with PBR Streetgang's Bonar Bradberry with a cover of Donna Summer's "Working The Midnight Shift". Slow and sultry, Bonar's synths purr and skulk as Nancy's delivery takes centre stage with a full dynamic range. For added pleasure, Gomma have also delivered a killer jacking bass house remix from Black Loops and Maik Yells. Gomma have gone the extra mile on this one!
