Review: Fresh deep garage house stylings from B From E, who's able to demonstrate they know how to do it just right. The Danish producer/DJ is evidently a treasured fixture of their label Happiness Therapy, who specialise in this kind of stuff, but rarely find so much talent or passion for the styles condensed into a single six-tracker. Topping up the label's 'Just At Night' series, cuts like 'Nirvana' and Niles Cooper's remix of 'Just At Night' and are shuffly piano-housers on the emotive side, recalling the tearjerking and dub-dued feelings of early house artists like the Wamdue Kids, but with an arguably much defter 4x4-garage flair.

Review: Marc Brauner's recent outings on Shall Not Fade were undeniably classy affairs, with the Berlin-based producer showcasing both hard-edged peak-time house and deeper, more melodious retro-futurist workouts. Brauner's first outing on Happiness Therapy sits firmly in the latter camp. The two most ear-catching cuts are the included collaborations with Tender Games: the sun-soaked, synth-bass-propelled al-fresco deep house funk of 'Amberjack' and the loved-up, piano-heavy rush of 'The Mission', which is as uplifting and celebratory as they come. Elsewhere, 'Call For Freedom' is a sax and TB-303-powered chunk of New Jersey garage nostalgia, 'What's Your Name' is a deeper and more intergalactic-sounding excursion, and 'Dangerous Game' is a breezy, enveloping chunk of turn of the '90s Italo-house revivalism.

Review: Lyonnaise producer Denyl Brook returns to regular home Happiness Therapy with what could well be his most consistently impressive EP to date. His love of vintage piano house comes to the fore on smile-inducing, hands-aloft opener 'My Lovin', before he reaches for rubbery, all-action synth bass, tight acid lines and woozy lead lines on the more stomping 'If You Say'. 'Good Times' is another feel-good moment propelled forwards by elastic bass, crunchy drums and spacey melodies; 'Ford Anglia' is a breathless, heads-down, warehouse-ready peak-time workout; and 'Fellas It's Me' is a foreboding slab of late-night retro-futurism. Rounding things off nicely is 'Awake', a percussively pounding but sonically sunny and dreamy affair that may well be the EP's most loved-up moment.

Review: Jesse Bru lays down the first in his 'Chronicles Of Bru' series, which narrates the comical tale of an ambitious young man whose sole goal is to save the planet from the false excesses of climate catastrophe and environmental decay. Somehow, this vision of sonic ecology translates to deep, ambient trance and piano house, which is funnelled stylistically into five new heaters for France's Happiness Therapy label. Faint birdsong and overblown Chicago-esque motifs are laid down in a quickly successive, through-composed fashion, as if to suggest that the political project that ignites change should be one of musical, harmonious enjoyment, not of stingy utility, where house music cannot be heard.

Review: Hot new French label Happiness Therapy run by ascendant DJ/producer Crowd Control proudly presents a brilliant double header following up a great inauguration by CC himself and Popka. HT02 features Vancouverite Jesse Bru on the A side, with the late night dusty deepness of "Uncle Frank" (which ventures into hypnotic acid territory later on) followed by the emotive and bittersweet vibe of "Good Life" which is absolutely wonderful. On the flip, rising Welshman Harrison BDP brings the goods as always: with the immersive dub techno flavour of "Eternal Space" followed by "Parallax" which similarly explores the cavernous and glacial aesthetics of Basic Channel and Echospace.

Review: Get those hands up in the air and wave them like you just don't care, because this is heart-on-sleeve, soulful as you like piano house that just wants you to have a good time. And you surely will once the knotted bass, steamy organ stabs and big old school chords of Rocky Razu's 'The Power of Love' infect your soul. 'Break Up' is another lush and glossy groove for open-air dancing and 'Self Control' bumps along on a nice fat baseline while a diva vocal soars up top. It's all lovely, happy music, but the best of the EP might be the cheeky garage shuffle and tumbling melodies of closer 'In The Moment.'
