  9. Ressurection (5:39)
  10. End Of A Road (3:50)
Review: Following seven sterling 12"s that have established him as a serious player in the garage department, Burnski seals the deal on his Instinct alias with an album that blows the scope of the project wide open. Just listen to the stirring strings of opening track "Frozen" or the jungle-flecked urgency of "Home" and you'll hear new dimensions to the sound revealing themselves with each listen. Steeped in cinematic imagery and loaded with obsessive levels of attention to detail, it's a powerful artistic statement that pushes Instinct to the forefront of Burnski's creative concerns.

  1. Don't Know (5:35)
  2. Creeps (4:50)
Review: Burnski's 2-step shenanigans continue apace with this sizzling drop on his Instinct label. The tech house titan's inspired take on UKG hits on all the right touchstones, especially on the fired up 'Don't Know'. From the gnarly low end growls to the tightly-wound RnB vocal lick, this is as sweet n' sour as you could wish for in the grand tradition of sub-testing shufflers. 'Creeps' is no slouch either, keeping the beats tight and dexterous, and finding space for some sweet synth rushes to sneak in between the rubbery b-lines and twitchy drums.

  11. Hologram (4:06)
  12. Operation (5:17)
Review: Burnski's Instinct project continues to gather steam with the release of a second album following last year's Still Life, which established the Leeds tech house veteran as a serious player in the new wave of UK garage. The ideas come thick and fast on Point Of View, flowing from the aqueous 2-step funk of 'Pistolwhip' to the 4x4 uplift of 'Sunstream', but the strongest moments come when the sound design collides with formidable bassweight on the likes of 'Select'. This is primarily a collection of club tackle, but it's packed with enough shade and depth to reach beyond the dance for all those other moments when you need a little shuffle in your life.

UK Garage
  1. Holloway - "Acme"
  2. Ease Up George - "Wicked"
  3. Daniele Temperilli - "Smog"
  4. Raynor - "Round Off"
Review: Set your phasers to wobble - Instinct is back with some of the most potent dark garage weapons they've carried to date. Rising star Holloway's "Acme" is not to be messed with, with a ludicrous, dexterous bassline to get everyone flexing like crazy. Ease Up George is taking no prisoners either with "Wicked", which sounds like it would be right at home on a classic Ghost 12". Daniele Temperilli brings a dense, experimental tint to the shuffled 2-step funk of "Smog", and Raynor seals the deal with the low and growling menace of "Round Off". If you need any proof the UKG scene is in rude health, look no further than this 12".

Still Life Remixes (140 gram vinyl 12")

UK Garage
  1. Can't Run Away From Yourself (Holloway remix) (5:27)
  2. Can't Run Away From Yourself (Holloway dub) (5:24)
  3. Badman (0113 remix) (5:47)
  4. Can't Run Away From Yourself (Desert Sound Colony remix) (5:56)
Review: The garage heat continues to fly out of Instinct as Burnski's 2-step-tinted alias gets some serious remix treatment. Holloway takes control on the A side with a remix and dub of 'Can't Run Away From Yourself' that ups the ante in intricate beat craft while maintaining a rolling moody atmosphere and a walloping serving of wobbly bass. 0113 tackles 'Badman' and has fun flinging the core elements around the mix with gleeful abandon, making an utterly rude dancehall wrecker in the process. Desert Sound Colony steps up on the B2 to create a distinctive, breakstep-leaning version of 'Can't Run Away From Yourself' that will get bodies jumping and jiving all over the shop.

  2. Old Spice
Review: Pinder has been spotted making sterling moves around the UK garage resurgence alongside Peaky Beats, but now he's going it alone on the seemingly unstoppable Instinct. It's great to hear this promising producer in full flight, dropping the kind of high-definition, willfully crafty 2-step that by rights should have dancefloors popping off. With enough smarts to satisfy the headphone shufflers too, these four tracks play with classic UKG tropes in artful ways, displaying a razor sharp instinct for how to maximize impact with the right hook at the right time.

INSTINCT 10 (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: INSTINCT 10. Rel: 04 May 20
UK Garage
  1. Pinder - "Forever" (5:30)
  2. 0113 - "Hard Lines" (5:46)
  3. Zac Stanton - "Stop Tellin Me" (6:13)
  4. Holloway - "Places To Be" (6:09)
Review: The campaign for real, modern UKG continues unabated over at Instinct, as another crew of like-minded bassbin botherers step up with their own fresh takes on the 2-step sound. Pinder is super speedy and tight as you like with "Forever", while Instinct regular 0113 gets freaky with the subtly tripped out "Hard Lines". Zac Stanton is perhaps the stand out turn on this 12" with the absolutely surefooted and sharply soulful "Stop Tellin Me". Holloway comes in strong on the B2 though, channeling that impeccable Ghost sound for the stripped and spooky "Places To Be". Classy club gear throughout, but especially on that B side.
