Review: "Sustains", by Ammon Wolman, is the first release from Interval Recordings, an Israeli label ran by sound artist Ido Govrin. Amnon Wolman has had a long and prolific career, having written over fifty pieces which include symphonic works, vocal and chamber pieces for different types of ensembles, film music and music for theatre and dance. The artwork is by none other than Deaf Center's Erik Skodvin, (aka Svarte Greiner).
Review: Mem1 are an electro-acoustic hybrid that seamlessly blend the sounds of cello and electronics to create an original and cohesive performance, focusing on a constant yet subtle evolution of textures ranging from sparse to dense, ambient to rhythmic, tranquil to volatile. "Alexipharmaca", Mem1's second full-length album, is a collection of improvised works that capture the allure of the unknown and unexpected. A perfect blend of harmony and cacophony, Mem1 show a level of intuitiveness that can only come from years of experience improvising.
