Review: Since he made his debut on Golf Channel in 2015, Nadav Spiegel AKA Autarkic has undoubtedly carved his own musical niche. He's released on some impressively off-kilter outlets, Disco Halal, Turbo and Bahnsteig 23 included, in the process establishing himself as an artist with a head full of ideas and an impressive variety of influences. "Terms and Conditions", his third album, is joyfully hard to describe, mixing and matching as it does elements of leftfield electronica, Middle Eastern electronics, throbbing Italo-disco, crusty psychedelic rock, neo-trance, oddball synth-pop, lo-fi art-rock, post-punk, dub, and acid-laden UK bass. By rights it should be a sonic mess, but it isn't, with each successive track bringing new sonic surprises.

Review: Life and Death continue to serve up brilliantly unpredictable releases, with this new one that brings together American DFA stalwart Juan MacLean with the UK's Me Me Me label head Man Power. On offer here is the pounding tribal house workout "Crescendo" which will hypnotise you with its polyrhythms until the track reaches an epic climax. This is followed by an edit from label boss DJ Tennis of "Excuse Me Daddy" on the flip, and closing out the EP is the majestic and mentalist journey down into the vortex that is "Praise The Toad" - a track that absolutely nails that L&D sound you've all come to know and love.

Review: Life & Death's next ambitious undertaking is courtesy of label chief DJ Tennis who teams up with Israeli indie-dance duo Red Axes. They were first introduced to each other by Superpitcher & Rebolledo (The Pachanga Boys) at a festival in Corsica - and the rest is history. Recorded on top of a decadent old shopping mall in the middle of Tel Aviv, the trio are said to have combined their "love of psy and Mediterranean influences" over a scheduled week of recording sessions together. The result is Redrago, a collection of tripped-out dancefloor oddities that take in everything from lo-slung punk funk ("Rave 'N' Roll), heady and (acid) bass-driven dancefloor narratives that cross over into vintage pop ("Il Veliero"), deep kosmiche ("Plastelina") and deep and tunnelling techno as heard on the epic "Ventilo".
