A dreamy and ambience-plunging EP from Overt and Dan Goul, two artists whose penchant for the deep - be it watery or cosmic - knows few bounds. Upending the clippy and snappy connotations of tech house, 'Simple Astral' lends extra boomy weight to its 4x4 kicks, a move that is closely seconded by added vinyl-crackly textures, which ember and flicker like stars in twilight. 'Summons Road' by Goul is the closer and our highlight.
