Transient States (limited to 250 copies) (180 gram red vinyl double 12")
Cat: NGYLP 1 RED. Rel: 23 Apr 18

Deep House
Flow

Theme From The Dungeon
I Can't Explain (feat Javonntte)
Jaxx Freaxx
Brudan In Leeds
Hazy Groove
Pickney
Review: Brawther makes his long playing debut on his new label Negentropy, and the long serving French house producer has never sounded freer in his vision of electronic music. "Flow" is a gorgeous ambient opener to the album, setting the scene for the immersive, mellow house tones of "Another Dub." "Theme From The Dungeon" switches stance again for a hip hop tempo, while Javonnte comes on board to deliver a soulful vocal over the broken beat lilt of "I Can't Explain." "Jaxx Freaxx" brings things back to a dancefloor focus, which "Brudan In Leeds" builds upon with an easy deep house tone that should satisfy Brawther's long time fans. "Hazy Groove" is a laid back minimal house roller, and then "Pickney" closes the album out with an even more stripped back workout for the later hours of the party.

Jaxx Freaxx (Fumiya Tanaka, Zweizig remixes)
Cat: NGY 03. Rel: 20 May 19

Minimal/Tech House
Jaxx Freaxx (Fumiya Tanaka My Jaxx remix) (10:55)
Jaxx Freaxx (Zweizig remix) (8:21)
Review: Brawther returns to one of the stand out tracks from last year's "Transient States" LP and hands it over to a couple of more-than-capable remixers. "Jaxx Freaxx" becomes an irresistibly funky bumper in the hands of Fumiya Tanaka, whose "My Jaxx" version sounds like it would be right at home in the midst of a lengthy Panorama Bar session. Zweizig follows up on his recent "Rhythm Tension" 12" for Negentropy with a sublime, subtle twist on "Jaxx Freaxx" that matches swinging micro house with dubby FX ripples that sound like they were deployed with the after party in mind.

Minimal/Tech House
Builded Mind (9:27)
Nearly Forever (6:02)
Foreground (6:36)
Review: After an extended, pandemic-related break, Brawther has decided to re-activate his highly regarded Negentropy label via a second EP on the imprint from former L.B Produce artist Ron Obvious. He begins in trademark style via EP highlight 'Builded Mind', a tech-tinged blend of skipping, UK garage style drums, jaunty sub bass, spacey electronics and deliciously tactile deep house motifs. He continues to fix loose-limbed and weighty garage grooves to deep and intergalactic house sounds on side two opener 'Nearly Forever', before pushing dub style bass to the fore on hypnotic late-night deep house number 'Foreground'.

Evidence Of (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: NGY 01. Rel: 28 Jan 19

Deep House
Evidence Of (9:54)
Second Light (9:56)
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Brawther is launching his new label Negentropy with a bang tidy offering from emergent London artist Ron Obvious, previously clocked on L.B. Produce and International Black amongst other esteemed underground labels. "Evidence Of" is a cool and deadly slice of tech house immersion that hinges on a firm kick and loses itself in a reverie of hazy pads. "Second Light" flips the script with a killer 2 step flex that should have all deep garage heads popping out moves in approval, like a housier take on the blueprint laid down by labels like Ghost.

Take One
Take One (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: NGY 04. Rel: 29 Jul 19

Minimal/Tech House
Take One (8:21)
One Or Another (6:45)
Deep Into Rhythms (6:04)
Review: This is just the fourth release on Negentropy, but already the label has been catching attention for doing some really interesting stuff, while consistently delivering dancefloor material that refuses to let go once you've been hooked in. French groove monster Sweely seems like a pretty good fit for the imprint, then, as this three tracker proves with ease. Crisp, sharp, and packed with energy, 'Take One' kicks off with the kind of punchiness that belies what's about to happen- soon dropping into a freeform, jazz-infused breakdown that appears to come out of nowhere, switching the vibe of the tune completely. You can almost see the sci-fi console lights behind the micro-percussive detailing on 'One Or Another', while 'Deep Into The Rhythms' is destined to please anyone who enjoys getting their head down to an archetypal relentless roller.

Minimal/Tech House
Gewissen (1:05)
Rhythm Tension (10:33)
Zephyr (6:13)
Rehash Repeat (7:11)
Review: Brawther's Negentropy label has already carried gold star material from Ron Obvious and the man himself, and now it's the turn of debutant producer Zweizig to show off his wares. This assured 12" leads in with the ambient intro "Gewissen" before the crisp minimal funk of "Rhythm Tension" kicks in with its shimmering and shuddering sound design pinging around the dexterous beat. "Zephyr" is a smoky affair with a snappy broken beat and lots of subtle organic matter writhing in the middle distance. "Rehash Repeat" takes things deep and dubby to complete the set, all mellow hiccupping rhythm accents and hazy melodic phrases.
