Review: BCUC aka. Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness are a South African band working in a highly specific niche: political psychedelic music with an African twist. Six long, energetic opuses hear the collective band intone in multiple languages, embracing Babel, while paying due homage to the anti-apartheid movement, as well as indigenous peoples, through many an ecstatic, multifaceted, hedonic trance.

Review: "Uffe's Words and Endings is a dub addled breach of sonic warfare." So says the officially approved text to accompany this release. Whoever wrote it isn't wrong, either. Long-since turning heads with releases on highly regarded but often unsung labels like Tartelet, Pets, and Delusions of Grandeur, we should already be expecting some special greatness from the artist in question. And yet Words & End-ings exceeds those expectations.

The juxtaposition between the soulful, jazz-driven, loose, 10PM atmospherics of 'Immortal' and 'The Moon''s sharp, stubby, staccato techiness is just one case in point. This is a dance music album that should be in album format, a night out on one record, all your memories and your current after party. At a point in time where we can all agree things are looking worrying, here is reassurance.

Review: DNGDNGDNG is a new alias for Dengue Dengue Dengue! and Continentes Perdidos is the first work under this name. The album comes hot on the heels of last year's Zenit & Nadir LP, the 2018 album Son De Los Diablos and Siete Raices from 2016, so keep sup a high quality and high rate of release. With plenty of sound system influences, shadowy vocal sounds and cavernous bass, it is also run through with the jungle sounds and Peruvian rhythms that have defined this duo to date. The results are intriguing and compelling in equal measure.
