Review: This is one of the very many classic David Bowie broadcasts out there. It was recorded on his Hours tour to support his 21st studio album of the same name, and was the last he did for the EMI sub-label. It was the first full album to be made available by a major artist for full internet download, a full two weeks before the physical release. The album makes use of many instruments and took Bowie away from electronica. Guitarist Page Hamilton played in the tour as did Mark Plati on lead and rhythm guitars, Gail Ann Dorsey on bass guitar, Sterling Campbell on drums, and Mike Garson on keyboards. This set was recorded in December 1999 at the London Astoria for FM broadcast.

Review: This is a superb recording of the legendary Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham before they joined the iconic Fleetwood Mac. It came in 1975 when Nicks went out to support their new album release and they played across the American South. Alabama was where this one was recorded - The Morgan Auditorium, Tuscaloosa to be precise - and not only did they play plenty of tunes from that album, but also a number of tracks that would go on to become much loved Fleetwood Mac numbers, such as fine versions of 'Rhiannon' and 'Monday Morning'.

Review: If ever there was a pivotal year in the history of a band then Fleetwood Mac's 1977 was probably it. Having dived deep into the world of hard, blues-infused, psychedelic rock & roll for most of their previous albums, they turned to the self-titled debut, also known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, and its slightly poppier, more commercially saleable sound as a jumping off point here, but instead wound up making something that's hard to define in reductive terms like 'pop'. Review: Another instalment of Collins-era Genesis in live action in 1986, straddling the parallel worlds they inhabit, namely prog overlords ('In The Cage/In That Quiet Earth/Supper's Ready') and shiny pop wizards ('Invisible Touch'). While the hardcore fans will always point to the Gabriel era as the band's purple patch, even they would have to concede that the churning chords and rhythmic stomp of 'Turn It On Again', which closes this set, is always a heart warming listen.

Review: South London formed band Japan first came together in 1974, led by David Sylvian on vocals, guitar and keyboards with Steve Jansen and Mick Karn also forming the core trio that went on to be joined by Richard Barbieri and Rob Dean. It was in 1982 that Japan headed to, well, Japan, to play the last leg of their tour having achieved plenty of chart success including nine Top 40 UK hits. The recordings here capture their last ever live shows from December of that year and they were broadcast across the country on radio. They have never been on vinyl before now as the entire show is presented in two essential volumes.

Review: Janis Joplin had quite the life, from being a rebellious kid who quit university to pursue a career in music (and drug and alcohol habits that she never could shake) to having her ashes fired from a plane over the Pacific Ocean. In between those events, she recorded some 22 odd albums and played many a famous live show, not least Fillmore East 1969: The Legendary New York Broadcast. It has been bootlegged and unofficially released several times over the years and now arrives as a gatefold double vinyl via Parachute.

Review: "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring," David Bowie famously quipped at his 50th Birthday concert in Madison Square Garden. That was 1997, and sadly we can now look back at the years between then and now as the last the icon would enjoy, although given the pantheons of unreleased material, music and other, we still have more than his legacy alone to learn from. He certainly kept his word, then, not least by opting to work with Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails, a band that found inspiration in myriad styles and sounds, from Human League to Pink Floyd, carving out a 'industrial electronic rock' niche for themselves. In addition to tours and one-off shows, recordings of their collaborations are remarkable, generating fresh wholes from the enormous sums of these parts.
